If you haven't already get Neil's autobiography "Waging Heavy Peace". I got it last night and I'm already about 6 chapters in and it is everything I could of hoped for. Part diary, part history and all Neil's unique tone. It really is a great insight to what makes him tick.

I didn't know he came out with an autobiography, gonna pick that up ASAP

He was awesome last night. Love and only Love, Powderfinger, Born in Ontario, Walk like a Giant, Needle and the Damage Done (acoustic), Twisted Road, Ramada Inn, Cinnamon Girl, Effin Up, Psychedelic Pill, Hey Hey My My.. Encores Mr. Soul and Roll another Number.
So excited I walked right past LLL and didn't even see her. Guess she wasn't dressed like a unicorn or jelly fish!

On of two videos released off the new album so far. I don't know about ya'll but I think it has all of the elements I want from the horse. Could easily be track 3 or 4 on Greendale and it wouldn't sound out of place at all, which for me is a compliment.
Old Black is sounding as great as ever, with a Ragged Glory tone this time around. I like the clarity in the tone following LeNoise.
The Red Rocks shows were very good and by all reports they are really picking up steam now and hitting their groove in the more recent shows. By the summer they are going to be in full form
Here is a song that was debuted recently live and is not on the new album. Knowing Neil this will probably just fade into obscurity but I really hope it finds the light of day.

I've been hearing rave reviews for The Horse's acoustic versions of Powderfinger and Like A Hurricane from The Bridge School Benefit. I'll have to check around for you tube vids later.
Hangout said Happy Birthday to Neil on his birthday on their facespace wall. Probably means nothing. But I bet he plays either Roo or Hangout, or both.
I finally just finished Waging Heavy Peace. A pretty amazing book.
You are the first person I have read anything positive from regarding Waging Heavy Peace. I was a fan of Shakey but steered clear of the new due to the negative reviews I read

It depends on what you are looking for from it. If you want a history, Shakey would be better, but if you want to have a conversation with Neil about the people and things that he cares about Waging Heavy Peace is great. It is very stream of consciousness and there is little organization, but it is a fascinating incite to why he does the things he does.
