OKGO was atrocious. I had zero expectations and yet they were worse than I expected. The only reason I saw them was they were between Dr Dog and Claypool (who were two of the highlights for me). Someone needs to tell OKGO that louder is not better. The mix was probably 2x as loud as for Dr Dog or Claypool and it sounded awful. I was in literal pain for part of their set.
I was also disappointed by Manchester Orchestra. Other than that everything I saw was good or better.
Those saying Isis sucked must not be familiar with their music or performance. They are not a "Hey, how ya doin'" type band. They get on stage, play their songs with perfection, and don't say anything...all of it usually done in the dark. Poor decision on Bonnaroo's part to book them in the middle of the day...darkness goes with the music and enhances the atmosphere of their show. Sorry for those that were disappointed, but I give it a 9/10.
Agree 100% with both of you
I completely agree they put on a very good performance, they belong nowhere near the discussion of worst performance at Bonnaroo.

isis was great. i almost fell asleep during their set and had to catch myself by holding onto the rail next to the soundboard, but that was just plain exhaustion not them being boring. i loved that set
i really didnt have a least favorite this year, i loved everything i saw.

Word, Isis absolutely destroyed it. I can see if you weren't expecting that or aren't into that style of music that it wouldn't be too good. It seems hard not to appreciate the skills they play with though.
Im really not understanding all the hate for Stevie. I thought he was great aside from the "I Wish" tease (Im glad Im not the only one who heard it). I was only disappointed with one performance, that being Gaslight Anthem. I hyped them up to my friends and they turned out to be pretty boring and slow live. Oh, and the Latin tent was mostly weird and awkward.

The only set I got bored at was LCD Soundsystem. And I know I'm gonna get hell for that. But I didn't enjoy their new album and was hoping it would come off better live and it didn't for me.

I guess I saw a shitload of good shows because I wouldn't classify any of them as being bad at all. I didn't enjoy some of them as much as others but that was probably due to the heat. Can you imagine how great Bonnaroo would be if it was in a Rothbury type setting?
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good

Hey different strokes, man. You know after all some people like being right, but others not so much. After all, I'm sure you're fairly knowledgeable about other areas besides music.

While I had a good time for the 40 minutes I was at their show, you are not alone with your qualms over their new album. I gave it two listens and did not like it at all. Sorry I tried.

Go listen to some more circa survive.
Sarcasm? Sorry if I didn't enjoy something you did. I still like LCD Soundystem and still listen to them. Just not their new album.
There are always some really great bands and some not so great ones. My big problem is that the Troo Music lounge and the Lunar Stage were so loud they were drowning out the stages next to them. That was highly irritating. Norah Jones...couldn't hear her at all. And the Lunar stage was so freaking loud that I heard it all the way at my campsite ALL NIGHT LONG. They need to turn that leno down.

I thought Dropkick Murphys sucked and were disrespectful to our history and culture here. It's fine if you want to make comments and play songs about "the north kicking the south's ass" when you're playing in Massachussetts, but when you're a guest in a different region and you're right in the middle of a whole mess of historic battlefields, it's just a dick move. I left with my middle finger extended towards the stage, and enjoyed the rest of Ween.

That was almost 150 years ago. It's time to let go.

Yeah, I didn't care for that either. I stayed for the rest because it's Dropkick but that did seem kind of like a cheap shot.

Yup. I'm a full on Southerner and I'm all about looking back on history, but these things always bothered me. Why anyone should be offended or go out of their way to be offensive is beyond me, on all parts.
On the topic, I remember we wandered into a show in a daze, realized it was pretty bad and left. It was OK Go.
Jay Electronica might have been good if he let a beat ride for more than 2 minutes. Every time something got rolling, he would kill it and start talking or doing a capella stuff.

B.O.B. was garbage, can't believe I stayed in Centeroo that long just to see such a lame show. Definitely not big enough to justify starting 35 minutes late. Note to artists, going "Bonnaroooo!" and then waiting for the crowd to stop cheering every. two. minutes. is not the best way to keep people's attention. Dudes in the back were yelling "Play some music!"
Absolutely loved everyone else, some of the best live shows I've ever seen from a lot of the other bands

Ive always found it funny how Some ppl in the south care about a stupid war they lost 150 years ago over them fighting for slavery...id say 99% of the ppl in the north dont give one f..uck about the war in anyway and would never even think about the war besides when the south or a school teacher talks about it
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey

Its funny how people truly believe the civil war was purely about slavery. Its an easy way to smear "southern apologists". Similar to calling anti-Israeli activists anti-semitic.

I am a pure bred southerner, lived in Georgia all my life. But I have been raised right and know what the Confederate flag is and what it stands for, which is complete trash. As an American I have my right to treat them as I please, which is to burn them because they represent a sad, dark time in our nation's history. And I will say that Southerners need to get a grip on reality about how the, "South Will Rise Again" or "These Colors Don't Run". (Which his hilarious for the fact that a lot of people are for seceding from the Union, which seems like running to me.)
HOWEVER, some northerners need to get bent. Plus its not 99% of northerners that don't care. Its actually from my own experience a good handful. They have the idea that its their duty as someone from the north to tell someone from the south that they won the war. Its annoying as a southerner to hear people yelling, "WE WON THE WAR!", just to get a rise out of people. Its almost annoying as the confederate flag waving morons spewing their stupidity. Its actually quite bothersome to see both northerners and southerners even argue on the smallest scale about it. How about both groups of people get over it?
I was expecting to have fun at the Kings of Leon show considering I like their old material. I was wrong. It was the only show of the weekend I didn't have any fun at. Oh well.
I didn't mind KOL, but then again I kept running back and forth between them and Bakerton. At least I heard a few good songs I do like from KOL.
As for the other issue, I missed the part of the DKM show in question. I'm from the north, I like the north. But that doesn't mean we're all great and everywhere else sucks. There's nice things about the south too, or anywhere.
I saw them three months previous at the House of Blues in Boston. One of their opening acts did a song about how the Irish would fight endlessly against the English and kick their asses. And I'm just standing there like... what is the point? Can't we get over that petty crap?

Because it's a defining part of the fabric of our society. I'm not a southern apologist by any means, but the war was not this great idealistic crusade fought by the north to save all the slaves in the south like what you were taught in grade school. I'll spare the history lesson. I've met people from all over the world at bonnaroo. Every year I meet lots of people from northern states, and they're all respectful and what I usually get is something like "thanks for having us down here!" and other cool stuff like that. I go and see bands from New York, Vermont, Illinois, et cetera ad nauseum... So far only DKM has gone out of their way to be dicks. So you know what? Fuck them. They're just a bunch of Pogues wannabes anyway. Everyone else I saw at roo this year was awesome.

It is kind of funny because I liked Circa Survive a lot. Apples and Oranges.
