So pretty much since January I have been holding out for my dad to get me comped tickets through his radio station. I really wanted / needed 4 because if it was just 2 it would be just me and my girl friend and my parents didn't want us to go just us girls. But happy happy! We got 4 tickets just a couple days ago!
The problem now is that I absolutely cannot find anyone to come! The two others that were supposed to come originally can't get off work now. I've asked a few other friends and all of them say they have to work. If someone presented me with a FREE ticket to Bonnaroo, I would just not show up to work if I had to! Or at least call some people and do what I can. I even asked my younger brother and he is still unsure. I can't believe this!
I hate being a whiner, especially when I get to GO!, but it does make me feel really friendless, like I don't have anyone here who is really on the same page as me. A lot of it is that this is my first summer back from college, and I have really grown apart from my high school friends. I no longer have a lot of good friends in my hometown.
Anyway, I just felt like this would be a good place to vent my frustrations. I just am so excited about this and I want it to be a great experience, and the fact that I only have one friend who feels the same way is really discouraging. Sigh.
Okay but aside from my complaining - If I am just so dang friendless that I can't find anyone to use all the tickets, how do people usually sell tickets on the way up? I'm not really interested in standing on the side of the road or knocking on car windows but if we have the ticket and its not being used, I figure we should at least get some money from it! Is it possible for us to sell the ticket discreetly?

^^^That sounds the best. You did get them free. Do you know how much you could change a life? Not just because of the Roo experience, but someone getting a free ticket to Roo..... The possibilities are endless.....

I may have one to get rid of, too. I was thinkin about putting a cardboard sign in the window w/my cell #. Who knows. I kinda keep forgetting I have it. Whatever happens happens, I'll just be happy to be there. Maybe we should try the Wal-Mart parkin lot. But, most of all, congrats on getting your tickets!!!! ;D

I would def charge. maybe like 100 bucks. I mean to miricle a person into a $250 festival is insane.
I know how you feel though with the "no ones on the same page as me" thing. NONE of my friends are into the Bonnaroo type music and its super frusterating. My brother is coming and my best friend is coming just to hang out with me and be at a crazy huge party but still...

It might be insane, but it would be insanely GOOD.
But, yeah, same as y'all with the friends thing - - I'm basically holding on to mine because I told my friends I'd give them all till the very last minute if they wanted to go. Probably won't, but that was more important to me than making sure it was sold early. And I'm not even counting on any money from it, so, if I run into someone who needs it, I'll just kinda go with my gut and/or their best offer. No worries. ;D
give it away!!!! you can always use the good karma!
I had and extra ticket from winning the design contest and i gave it to my friend who is really poor and made his year! seriously! give it away!! its the best feeling ever. the bonnaroo gods will love you!

i posted this in another thread - but last year our friend had an extra ticket, he sold it to a guy for like $27 and the necklace he was wearing...the guy had just hitched from wakarusa and was the happiest guy i'd seen. the rest of the weekend, our entire group was very fortunate in the people we met and the things we saw and got to do...just throwing that out there. good karma for the miracle-ers

I gave my parents tickets this past weekend so they can come out and see the Police. You have no idea how great a feeling it is to give someone the joy of Bonnaroo. I've been glowing since last Saturday.

They live in Manchester so they will probably come and go using day parking. My mom is probably the single biggest influence on my taste in music, and she took me to my first concert when I was only 6. She is directly responsible for getting me into The Police at a very young age and the least I could do for that is give her the Bonnaroo experience. My stepdad Jim is less interested in the concerts as he is just experiencing the festival itself, but he is still excited to get to go this year.
Thanks, ya'll. I may actually have 4 people now but if not I might sell the tickets on Facebook.
Okay but I'm having a panic attack induced by a Infoorooster who private messaged me and mentioned "guest upgrades" for parking and camping!! What?! Do comp tickets not allow you park and camp? I just convinced my parents that this was OK and we have made plans accordingly... this would REALLY mess everything up. Please help!
if you've got a ticket, comp or not, you can camp and/or park. It's cool, don't stress... take a deeeep breath... count to ten... it's aaaaallll fine ;D
I am in the exact same boat as you. I have friends that can go but could care less and friends that can't go and want to so bad. It sucks. I had two so now that I am going by myself. I am actually giving mine away to the friendly rainbow kid that everyone all the sudden hates....Kramer. Yeah, I gotta find him at walmart on wednesday. or somehow...get this to him.
Okay alyroo I trust you... haha sorry, this whole Bonnaroo thing has caused me some stress, I can't wait to just get there and have fun! I just kinda freaked out because the way she worded her PM made it sound like you had to have a guest upgrade to camp and park. But now I'm fairly sure she just meant that you can have access to a special guest camping area if you have the upgrade. I don't think we do but I'm an idiot and lost the little information packet that came with my tickets... so now I'm looking for that just to make sure.
Okay so there's NO way that my tickets aren't just like day passes? Its impossible? God, can it be Thursday already?!

Bonnaroo has NO day passes. If you have a ticket it includes camping. There is a day parking lot, but Bonnaroo does not sell one-day passes. It's all in or nothing!!!
Okay, thanks guys! I talked to my dad and he said that if I sell a comp ticket its very possible they could trace that back to his company. Supposedly that happened with a Super Bowl ticket a couple years ago. I definitely don't want to give him in trouble, so I am giving my one extra ticket to a friend of a friend. He is coming with our group and camping with us but I am pretty sure for the most part he will do his own thing. This way I get to spread the Bonnaroo love and he is going to help pay for supplies and gas! I can't say I don't wish I had a bigger or better group to go with but when I'm going and its free I'm not going to complain!
Can you believe that 48 hours from now we will be at Roo?!
