Has anyone ever seen Deadmau5? Any chance he will go later than his scheduled time?
Just because some people here have forgotten what this thread was posted for, this is a reminder. I won't hurt your feelings anymore pointing out how pointless girltalk is. That is not what this thread is about. Take your hating somewhere else, create your own thread. I'm done with this. I don't want your bad vibes before Bonnaroo, you're not worth it.
To all of you Deadmau5 fans, I'll see you there! Enjoy your Bonnaroo experience!
Well said beau, lots of deadmau5 haters ITT, dont get so butthurt over people liking an artist you dont. I for one will be dancing my face off during deadmau5.

FTR, I think GirlZTalk is a lot of fun and music is supposed to be fun.
Agreed. I also take issue with people who say he's not original. When someone takes four or five different tracks and melds them together to create what ends up sounding like a totally new product - that's original. But more importantly, GT is fun. Is it anything profound or groundbreaking? No, it's not. Is it a crazy fun party for people looking for that sort of thing? Heck yea it is.

Exactly. Beaucaldwell says Girl Talk is pointless but the point is that it's fun for some people. I had a drunken, stupid good time with girl talk once but I got bored after about 20 or 30 minutes. I went to DEMF last weekend and saw some of the best EDM artists and DJ's in the world. I had one of the best times of my life. Girl Talk isn't a DJ but what he does is original, creative mixing work and it's really entertaining for some. Good EDM like Plastikman and Underworld is really quacking entertaining, stimulating, and inspiring. Deadmau5 is boring to everyone unless you just started listening to edm so it's fresh for you, or your rolling/stoned/tripping out on all the pretty lights. Seriously you never heard a good review for a live Deademau5 show unless it's from some plur'ed out tweens that are new to it all.

I had never heard of Deadmau5 until he was announced on the lineup. However I myself fall into the "newb" category when it comes to EDM. I mean I listened to Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, and Crystal Method when I was in middle school/high school, but that was and is the extent of my knowledge of EDM, give or take an intro to Orbital and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. So yes, very newbish to EDM. I however don't see how any of this is relevant to this thread, which is about how long Deadmau5 will play. I mean I could just start talking about much I enjoy fishing. I mean, I love fishing so much that I could probably talk about it for a loooooong time. Or today, I went to Q'Doba for dinner. I had the mexican gumbo and it was AMAZING!!!! I added some queso and hot sauce to mine and it was just simply fantastic. All of this is about as relevant to the thread as talking about how great or horrible Deadmau5, GirlTalk, or any other EDM act is. Or how Deadmau5 doesn't appease the EDM Vets. By the way I really have no more contributing points of discussion to the OP of this thread. Just really bored, and really excited for next week. And I felt like keeping this thread as off topic as it has been for about 2 pages now!!! Deadmau5 fans, enjoy the show. Deadmau5 haters, keep hatin. No matter which side you fall on......long live off topic threads on inforoo!!!!!!!!!

When people type/opinion like this, I find it hard to believe they are anything other than a 16 year old girl.

Exactly JayF. I missed him for Jay-Z there and after seeing the videos I am really looking forward to his show here. Not saying he's technically the best DJ but you can't deny his light show especially when peaking.

Uh just so you know, this is going to suck. I'm going to stop by for at least 15 minutes just to marvel at the awesome visual production but he's a really bad DJ. Everyone on the coachella board that just saw him at sasquatch all agreed that he was terrible. Just a heads up.
If you want good EDM head to the Lunar Stage or even Bassnectar is much better than Deadmau5.
Just a few things.
1. Deadmau5 is not a DJ in the traditional sense - he doesn't use vinyl or CD's. He'd much rather be referred to as an electronic music artist than a house DJ.
2. The pre-buzz on the Coachella boards before Deadmau5 played had some skeptics only because Deadmau5 had given it some pre-hype. After all was said and done the consensus was that he delivered - it was an amazing show.
3. I was lucky enough to catch both sets from Deadmau5 and Bassnectar at Coachella. Their sounds don't really compare in my opinion - DeadMau5 is more progressive trance and electro while Bassnectar has a heavy hip-hop/breaks vibe. They are both brilliant.
The bottom line is that if you haven't seen Deadmau5's show yet, it behooves you to at least swing by and give it a sample. If you are looking for a good starter record I recommend Random Album Title.

Seeing you guys try to discuss electronic music is like watching some autistic six year olds trying to perform laser surgery on a small insect while gaged and hogtied.

Since last year was my first year I was so surprised to find artists playing past their set time. Like Paul Oakenfold. I had walked past the tent but I went to camp and slept like a baby to his music. It would be pretty cool if he played past his time, but I'm suspecting he won't. :/ So who's ready to dance.
