When I came up with this idea I forgot one important thing I ALWAYS lose my voice at roo. I yelled it Thursday and Friday but after that it would have just been a sad little raspy squeak.
but i yelled it, no response, but I yelled it. Didn't hear any others. Oh well, as long as it worked for somebody

I strung pictures of Corncat all around my campsite and on Friday morning while sewing our flag together the word Corncat was suddenly yelled towards our tent... I looked up and simultaneously me and the girl who yelled it went "NOM NOM NOM NOM!!!" It turned out to be the sweet Mariposa, who was camped directly across from us with her man. It was the only time I heard the inforoo yell all weekend, but that's ok because it served it's purpose and introduced us to the nicest neighbors we could have possibly had. It also proved that the people inside my computer are actually real, and it convinced my friend that I was not insane in my Corncat obsession. Thank you Alyroo for coming up with this idea, because it truly enhanced my Bonnaroo experience, and introduced me to two great people I may not have met otherwise... ALL HAIL CORNCAT... NOM NOM NOM NOM!!! ;D
"...well yeah the guitar is good accompaniment but you can't like compose with it; I mean you can't base a whole song around the guitar." -Bob Dylan 1965
There's not a thing worth remembering When tomorrow can bring someone new Get used to the thought You can't be what you're not Life has already got plans for you
When they come to take you down When they bring that wagon round When they come to call on you and drag your poor body down Just one thing I ask of you, just one thing for me Please forget you know my name, my darling sugaree Shake it, shake it sugaree, just dont tell them that you know me
Didn't hear a single "Corncat" all weekend. I called it out a few times but got no response.
I did see Corncat written on the dry erase board in the American Spirit tent and wrote "Nom nom nom" by it.
hahah, karma for writing a response.
I havent read through any of this thread, but i was stopping by to say that i only heard "corncat" once. It wasnt yelled, it was some dude trying to explain the concept to his girlfriend. I overheard and went, "nom nom nom nom". He laughed, but his girlfriend thought we were fucked up. Hmmmmmm. We may have been...
We must keep Corncat alive and nomnomnom-ing until next year. My roommate and I yelled it at each other while we waited to get searched for Centeroo, while we ambled through Shakedown, and while we waited for Gogol Bordello, I think. No eavesdroppers and no responses. Bummer.

pssst, it was Mariposa not Marisol. (it means butterfly in spanish)
And I couldn't agree more. You guys were so sweet and it was so nice to look up and see corncat and just know that we were around good folks. The odds of us winding up next to each other is still amazing to me - and the fact that we were all normal nice people maybe amazed me even more.
ALL HAIL CORNCAT - bringing people together, and continuing on.

We too had wonderful neighbors! Cool folks from NYC (lordrockinhood and his lovely lady) and the cool couple from Knoxville. Cheers to all!

I know it's late and I have obviously missed something, but, how did the corncat get started here, or is the corncat a worldwide phenom (nom, nom, nom)?
I heard a corncat yell once, but when I yelled corncat back, I got nothing, not even a nom, nom.
corn cat began in a post by weatherbill lecturing everyone on overindulging - someone noticed Killer Bee's siggy that had a video of a cat eating corn and it took off from there
yelled it all weekend with only a couple responses...one dude didn't even say 'nom nom nom' as the response...he was so f'd he's just like ' ha, you guys must be from inforoo...rock on' and walked away...the other guy only stalks the boards and doesn't have an account...i was a little dissappointed...but i am ambious and won't stop tryin' next year...

I like the idea of having a flag with Corncat on it!! Somehow we all need to get a silkscreen flag with tha cat on it so we can fly it over each of our campsites next year so's we can find each other!!
