Hello all.
I've recreated the set times for Bonnaroo 2002 and uploaded to Google Documents in spreadsheet form. I rounded the set times to 15-minute increments. Please note that, to my knowledge, there were no acts on Thursday yet and 2 stages and 2 tents existed that year.
Looking back for our more experienced attendees, which acts did you actually see? Would you have changed your viewings in retrospect? If so, why?
For those who didn't go in 2002, please state which acts you would have probably seen.
Any errors are my own. Please tell me of any corrections and I'll change accordingly.
If I get enough interest, I'll continue with additional years.
I didn't go that year, as I was in college on the West Coast and Coachella was my festival for a long while. But here's what I would have done.

I pulled the schedules from various sources online, not just the official website. I'm a bit of a schedule hound. However, I only found that Galactic played on Saturday late night and Sunday afternoon. Are you sure they played Friday as well?
Also, do the links not work, or did you choose not to open?

Reading this old schedule makes me laugh, how we all thought this was the festival to end all. Traffic was a nightmare, none of the staff had half a clue, and the lineup was both tiny and kinda homogenous compared to these days. First tier tickets were also a whopping $100. Memmmmmm'riiiiiiies.....inthecornerofmahmaaaaaind....

Do you know approximately where and when Particle had this night show? Also, can anyone else confirm that there was a second Robert Randolph show, and when/where if possible? I'll add them to the lineup if you happen to know.

The unscheduled Particle show was right about Sunrise, right outside the arches, no stage, all the instruments on the ground and powered by a generator.

I added another venue, "Unofficial Stage" for Saturday and estimated the performance to be from 4 am - 6 am. Someone please correct me if they know of better precision.

Ahh...looking at that 2002 schedule really takes me back. My first Roo was a last minute clusterfuck that I would probably not want to repeat. It waS my forst festival experience and my wife and I were woefully underpreparred. The wait to get in was horrendous (we got in line @ 9pm Thursday and got in after dawn the next day, so we were totally spent from waiting up all night to get in (this after a 3-day haul from AZ). We only saw a handful of bands and had to leave early for work. We didn't meet up with the friends who convinced us to go, and all the water tasted like sulphur (as opposed to just a few water stations). Oh and my wife and I were in the midst of a huge rift (since reconciled) and we pretty much faught the whole way there and back.
But despite all that we had a good time. We were less than impressed with the whole "jamband" scene (this was our first exposure to jamband music), but after seeing the 2003 lineup we decided we had to return and have been back ever since.
Anyway, my rundown for the weekend is pathetic and kind of embaressing. We missed a lot of good stuff (including all the late-night sets and most of Sunday).
Friday: Les Claypool (with Warren Haynes guesting on Shine on You Crazy Diamond) Widespread Panic (both sets) (Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't these shows the last ones Hauser played with em before he passed away?)
Saturday: Drums and Tuba Ben Harper (most of his set) Cut Chemist String Cheese (with Karl Denson and Steve Winwood guesting) Widespread Panic (both sets)
Sunday: Galactic Ween
Left after Ween. Missed Bela Fleck and the Superjam. I recall Robert Randolph playing that gap in the which stage Saturday during Ben Harper, but I don't have my 2002 schedukle handy so I can't be sure.
We also stopped by the "Cinema tent" (which was a few hay bails surrounding a TV projecter and very little shade.) I remember watching CB4 while taking a break from the heat.
And remember kiddies, there wasn't even a mushroom fountain the first year (just a wierd orange stonehenge lookin thing), and the mist tents were never on, so the only escape from the heat was to bathe in sulphur water. Fun times!!!!

Two people have said now that Robert Randolph played 2 shows. The Which Stage on Saturday does have a big hole in it. I'll add Randolph to that spot. If anyone has a physical schedule, please confirm.

Archive.org has both the saturday and sunday Robert Randolph shows for DL, so the def played two sets. Unfortunatly they don't give a time or stage for the Saturday show, but I'm pretty sure it was (at least partially) during Ben Harper.

Didn't go until 2005. I remember somehow hearing about the first Bonnaroo somewhere on the internet, and my very first thought was "Yeah, that'll work. Sounds like another Woodstock 99 to me." Just happy I was way off. After Woodstock 99, I didn't think there'd ever be big outdoor festivals again, although I think Coachella was going on at the same time, and Lolla was around I think, but I think was doing the traveling thing. There were a lot of factors that caused the riots at Woodstock 99, but I like to think that it was Fred Durst who pushed people over the edge.
So glad Bonnaroo got it right. If you would've asked me 10 years ago that I'd ever get to go to a festival with over 150 bands and 70,000+ plus people, I would've told you no way, I'd never be fortunate. Can't wait for Bonnaroo #4 for me this year!!!

Firstly, I would have done more. In 2002, i practically lived on the festival circuit and at shows, and i had seen most of the bands many, many times. So I skipped out on a lot of the music as far as full shows.
