Another thing I realized to bring in some cash could be selling textbooks that are still current enough for upcoming classes. I realized the books I just used and want to sell are worth at least $140 right there, so that helps too. Does anyone know, aside form Craigslist, where's reliable to sell books? I know eBay profits off your listing, so I don't like using that anymore, and I forget if half.com does the same thing (since it's through eBay). Suggestions?
I thought I remember seein someone on here say their friend donated plasma and to host a garage sale, but now i cant find it. Might as well suggest ways to save up in here too.

I think I've read it's about $20-40/each time. I think they usually only let you go twice a week. You can find a donation center at www.bloodbanker.com

I always sold my used books on amazon. If you do a search for the book you want to sell, on the right hand side of the page is a link that says "click here to sell yours."
They list it for free, and I think only take a small commision when it sells. They tell you how much postage and handling should be, with a nice enough mark up that if you send the book media mail, you make more than their commision back.
You can set your own price, if you sell it for a few cents cheaper then the next guy it should sell in a few days. The only issue i see with using if for cash for roo would be the book market is not great right now. I always had to hang on to them until near when the next semester started.
ah ok. true. There are some summer classes starting soon though, so you never know. I put mine on Craigslist cause shipping and commission is frustrating sometimes. If they dont sell though, I might try half.com or amazon. We shall see. Thanks!
Ellie, I have not done it for a while, but amazon was always great. I got within 5-10 dollars of what I spent on the book. They figure the shipping for you, so you dont have to worry about that. The nice part with them too is that you dont have to worry about collecting the money. Amazon plays middle man. They let the person pay however they want, collect the payment and hold it for a few days, to give the other person a chance to recieve the product. If they dont hear that you didnt send the product, then they direct deposit the money where ever you tell them. No meeting sketchy people in parking lots or fielding tons of crap emails.
I dont want to seem pushy, but it worked so great for me for so many years, I would love to see more people not getting screwed by university books stores or other discount dealers. Plus you get the marketing power of one of the biggest internet retailers.

2 tickets=555.00....we take about 800 bucks to spend at roo but thats for 2 of us its a 100 bucks a day each...gas is 300 round trip (from PA) so it about 1600 for whole trip.....ITS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

$300.00 round trip from PA?!? what do you drive? getting 25 mpg it should cost less than 200. Im driving from PA too and if its 300 for gas, im gonna need to sell some more books... (and ive already sold 17 books and a graphics card to pay for roo)
I brought $100 both years, and both years I ended up taking out an additional $50 from an ATM. That's for the whole weekend. I don't really buy that much stuff though, just food pretty much. This is the first year I'll be 21, so I'm bringing extra money for beer in Centeroo. I think I'm going to buy more souvenirs and whatnot this year, I plan on taking around $250 this time around. Should be plenty. (note: that's just money for bonnaroo, that's not including gas/food/the trip down there).

I brought $350 in cash 2 years, I think I brought $400 one year. I spent almost all of it each time. I couldn't have a great time without it. I suggest everyone bring that kind of money, just got to save up.
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
I'm brining $1000 this year but that is for 2 adults and 3 kids. I don't think we will spend it all, but i dont want to have to tell my kids they can't have something.

I'm probably going to bring between $300-400 cash. Last year, I brought $300 and I only spent $200. Granted, I ate only 2 meals a day in Centeroo (had FiberOne bars for breakfast) and didn't drink there. I did buy Bonnaroo and Springsteen shirts. I think this year, I'll probably party a little bit better. Thus, my justification for an extra $100. LOL.
Last year we each brought about 300$. This year we're doing the same but there is only 2 of us this time around. So we're just going to have to budget better when it comes to buying food in centeroo to make sure we have gas to get home afterwards. Make more meals at camp or when eating in centeroo choose something more filling. And as much as we LOVED the lemonades we have to drink them a little more sparingly this year!

I think one way to save money at roo is to share your meals. Some of the meals I bought last year for $8-9 were more than enough for two people. That's eating cheap. I can't wait to et back on the farm for that cajun meat trio.

I'm a year shy of 21 so I can cut hundreds of dollars off since I won't be buying beer I'm shooting for 20 bucks a day, plus my own food from home, plus maybe a shirt. Going to bring extra though.

I'm not sure what I'm bringing exactly this year. I'll probably bring $300, $200 for party favors n $100 for food... I use my camelbak so I never have to pay for water. I usually like putting my camelbak in the cooler before I head to centeroo, makes my water ice cold!! Probably end up buying a shirt for sure as well.
not looking to get flamed here cause ive seen it happen. me and my bud are coming down from canada (eh!) and of course we are not going to be stupid and try and bring "party favors" over the border. that being said...will it be easy to pick some up at bonnaroo? just looking for a discrete yes or no...

I always take $300 in cash, and I always come back with $60. So I spend $240 while I'm there and I really don't stress about money while I'm there. However I don't buy party favors there.
I'm hoping I can bring $200 for spending money. I wish I knew what some of the items available were usually going for so I could better plan. I would like to bring more but what can you do!

I drive a 04 jeep liberty..gets about 21mpg map quest says it would be about 130.00 each way. Its about935 miles one way. Always bring a little extra to be safe.where in Pa you at where in NE ...The poconos
My first year ('08) I had credit cards. Bought my own ticket far in advance, my friend's at the door ($275+). Spent at least $200 (easy) the first day alone, just in party favors. I NEVER buy food or anything else from official vendors in Centeroo, only give business to Shakedown. Probably ended up spending about $500+ all together my first year.
Last year I bought my ticket with my taxes once again, when they first started selling them. When the time came, I was jobless, so I saved what little money I had and went with about $50. Luckily my group brought food so I was ok as far as essentials were concerned.
This year, I have my ticket but haven't been able to save any money. I'm just gonna try and overdraft my bank account, honestly....
Right now I'll probably have about $300 in straight Bonnaroo spending money but I bought a ticket for my friend and am paying for the gas costs. I've been saving since Christmas to make this happen, even stopping purchasing corn!
