My Morning Jacket headlines two nights after headlining in 2011 and 2013 leading everyone to decide they are too much like WSP and not good anymore. (meaning I can get in the pit 5 min before the show
I am a HUGE WSP fan, and I've always felt a little uncomfortable with all the hate the band gets when they play Bonnaroo these days. But you're right, I can walk right up to the pit right at showtime. Good stuff!
Also, my headliner predictions: (Bonnaroo, after crashing and burning for their 2012 festival, goes insolvent and is forced to sell to Disney, Inc.) -The Jonas Brothers (long-anticipated reunion show) -Miley Cyrus -The Hip Street Teens (up-and-coming band that is all the rage in 2014).
-Vampire Weekend pre-headlines the main stage or gets a Which Stage late night -Roo gets its first hip-hop headliner (besides Beastie Boys) with either Jay-Z or Outkast -Widespread Panic finally returns after six years -Roo books one of the really gigantic dream headliners people have been calling for for years, (Paul McCartney / Roger Waters / David Bowie / Eric Clapton / Daft Punk / etc) -the Which Stage opens up on Thursday, and a band that doesn't even exist yet headlines that night -people complain about how much Roo has changed and just isn't the same fest it was back in 2010.
oh wait, what I meant to say was.... -VIP tickets come with a free bag of corn. -a super stage is built in Centeroo, making the What Stage look puny by comparison. This is where the High School Musical superjam will take place. -medical corn is legalized in TN, and a mom-and-pop dispensary opens in Centeroo. People roam the campgrounds selling forged prescriptions. -anyone with tie dye clothing, hemp jewelry, dreadlocks or patchouli is ritually sacrificed in the campgrounds. This becomes one of the pod art installations over the course of the weekend.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
