Since I was born... the Browns made the plays 8 times in 41 years, 3 AFC Championship game losses, no Super Bowls. The Indians?? 12 500 seasons, 7 playoff appearances (six of those in a seven year stretch), had the first closer to ever blow a save in game 7, and arguably had one stolen from them. The Cavs? Couldn't win a ring with LeChoke!
The Indians are an absolute embarrassment right now. One of the hot questions in town is "If they stopped having fireworks shows after every weekend game, could they take that money and get a left fielder next year?". It's bad.

And the Mets are only 3 games better than them, haha.

Aaand there's the reason I don't feel as bad for Cleveland fans as I do Seattle, Buffalo, etc.
Hey remember when LeBron was 22 and scored the last like 27 points for the Cavs in the ECF against the Pistons and it was easily one of the greatest playoff performances ever? F*ck that guy.

I lived through the Browns move, there is no comparison between the Cavs and the Sonics. Starbucks guy hosed Seattle. I believe that was 25 straight points in 2007. What we remember, is 2010 when he quit in the playoffs. QUIT.

Oh wow I had a brain fart on the whole Modell/Browns moving thing.
Owners who move teams from cities who actually want the team are pretty much the worst people in sports. My dad always tells me how crushed he was when the Braves left Milwaukee even though they were among the leaders in attendance every year. If the Brewers or Packers ever left town I don't even know what I'd do.

Don't! 1995 was horrible. The stadium was like a funeral home the last 4-5 games. We still hate Model. I don't know how they guy that moved the Sonics still lives in Seattle.

Boston going to rebuild mode? Sounds good to me. Go O's.
As twisted as it sounds, I have been envious of O's fans or others that have got to watch rebuilding years. I understand it's a different kind of rebuild as one way or another there will be a light at the end of the tunnel and the same can't be said for a lot of other teams. I just really enjoy watching good, young, hungry teams and didn't think I would ever get to see it with the Sox. My favorite Celtics team of all time was 07, the one that lost about 20 in a row, but people got antsy, ownership caved and sold the farm and that turned out ok. I enjoyed that year so much, and championships always make it worth it, but I would have loved to have watched another season or two of the rebuild and win one with home grown players.

I don't think it's really weird at all. Two of my favorite Brewers seasons ever were '04 and '05, when guys like Rickie Weeks, Prince Fielder and J.J. Hardy were coming up. A couple years later is when Hart started coming on and Braun and Gallardo debuted. That's part of what made their playoff appearances in '08 and '11 so special; you got to see the outcome of all the excitement and potential from the previous years.
Of course then they come two games away from the World Series losing to the team they hate the most, inevitably lose Fielder to free agency, suffer injuries early in the '12 season and have the ENTIRE bullpen underperform, are forced to trade away their stud pitcher who at the beginning of the season seemed like he might sign a long term deal before Matt f*cking Cain f*cked with everything, and you're back to wishing you didn't like baseball so much.

I come to this thread to get some MLB banter and instead get reminded of the worst 12 minutes of my Piston's fanhood.
I liked the 04 and 07 teams when they won with a bunch of homegrown players.
Then the Sox tried to keep up with the Yanks.
Since Boston is doing terrible, I wish good luck for the O's. They stunk for so long, I hope they do well and give the fans there hope again. Angelos is a tool, O's fans have long suffered.

So pissed I dropped him when they decided not to make him a starter after stretching him out in the minors a few weeks back. Could really use him right now in this last leg of the season while the entire rest of my team is falling apart

Trust me, there is absolutely nothing to envy about the last 14 or so years of O's baseball. It has been painful, depressing and discouraging. Seeing prospect after prospect fail and continuing to be sub .500 no matter what changes are made isn't fun. Not to mention I watched 95% of the games in those years so it was even worse.
This year feels good though. Real good. Now I just hope they can make it to the playoffs.

I hope if you were at the Braves/Phillies game today that you did not leave early. First of all, you missed a great ending with Chipper heroics and B) Chipper called you out on SportsCenter for leaving early.
