Some of those guys didn't cheat though, that's the thing. It wasn't against the rules for them to do those things, and they took full advantage of a non-existent testing program. Melky Cabrera? Yeah he cheated, he knew the stuff he could and couldn't take and got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Bonds, McGwire, Sosa? Not suspended, and therefore, according to the logic of the MLB, didn't cheat.
Also, character clause or cheating, whatever. What about Ty Cobb? Should they rip him out of the hall of fame because he had crap character and probably cheated in ways that players no longer can? Should they take out Mickey Mantle because he was a womanizer and disrespected the amount of natural talent he had? The character clause is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. It's professional baseball, a lot of guys in that hall of fame don't have "good character".
It's upsetting that Piazza (who was never associated with PEDs) is getting black listed for the era he played in.
I loved that guy, modeled my hitting style after him (up to and including the "drag the bat from the on deck circle to the batter's box" thing), and just want to see the first HOF inductee I remember watching every game for and caring about a great deal.
The fact that the Mitchell Report still hasn't been leaked is a shame, because it would at least give a lot of insight into what superstar players were heavily involved. If Piazza isn't on that list, there's no reason he shouldn't be in right now.

Anyone else ever play Mike Piazza's Strikezone for N64? The average home run went about 700 feet. Easily one of the worst sports video games ever made.

You mean one of the best. At least when I was 10 it seemed awesome.

Well, when you're used to the greatest baseball video game of all time (pre-MVP '05), everything will pale in comparison.

I also liked that if you hit a home run with him in a game, the "I'm back" his next at bat increased your chances of hitting a home run with him like tenfold.
The Red Sox should improve a good deal from last year. I can't see under 70 wins again. I don't think they will get a Wild Card spot, but at least flirt in the pack and wind up 80-85 wins.

I think by far my favorite Musial stat is the 1599 career BB's:696 career K's. He even had a season where he hit more home runs than he had strikeouts. What the hell.
First time I really looked at these since yesterday. It's amazing to me that my grandpa tells me all these stats all the time, so it's not new information, and I still get astounded seeing them all in one page. Truly remarkable

It's a very good deal for the Braves. Upton's entering his prime and still has star potential even if he was a disappointment last year. Plus the Braves weren't going to re-sign Prado after this year so they're trading him for at least three years of Justin Upton. Plus the Braves didn't have to give up Teheran.
It's too bad for Arizona that Upton rejected the trade to Seattle a couple weeks ago, that would've been a major haul for them.
Braves always seem to make great trades in the recent years, this is just another one of them. Here's predicting that both Upton brothers rekindle their youth, and both hit over 25 homers while hovering near .300 batting average.
Who cares about the Braves trade? The Mets are petitioning MLB to protect their #11 pick in the first round since the Pirates only have a top-10 pick because they didn't sign their #1 draft choice last year.
