"This Sasquatch looks like a "Best of Other Festival's Previous Lineups 2010". Which isn't a bad thing, Bonnaroo just has a more fresh feel to it (not really in the sense of the headliners, but third line and down)."
I agree with this wholeheartedly.
Fresher maybe...but I don't think its very high quality freshness.
I think people are getting angry because Bonnaroo has always had the lineup, throughout the decade, that made people say "damn! that's a nice lineup". They have always been one step above everyone else (except for maybe Coachella). This year, they obviously slightly dropped the ball, no matter how you spin it.
After the initial letdown wore off, I think some of us realized that it's not that bad of a lineup - just sub-par for Bonnaroo. However, this week especially, we've come to realize that a lot of the bands that we wanted for Bonnaroo, that would have made us happy, are touring and for some reason or another aren't playing Bonnaroo. Now, some argue "maybe their contracts fell through" or they had "prior tour obligations", but I mean, come on - I have a hard time seeing why a lot of bands wouldn't want a prime spot at the biggest festival in the country.
We have seen that Furthur is playing Nateva & All Good, My Morning Jacket is playing Sasquatch/JazzFest and Arcade Fire is playing Lolla - arguably the 3 acts (after Neil & Roger) that everyone unanimously would agree would make a better lineup and fill in the missing gaps. Umphrey's is playing All Good & Waka, Roger is 99.9% touring, Pavement is playing many festivals, Levon Helm is playing Mountain Jam, Allmans are playing JazzFest/Wanee.
Are you telling me that they tried - and failed - to get Furthur, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Roger Waters, Umphrey's McGee, and Pavement, Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Allman Brothers... - bands that an overwhelming majority of people here, and usual attendees at Bonnaroo, want to see and are obviously touring this summer and willing to play festivals? It's frustrating looking at the bands we all wanted to see playing festivals across the country.
For what it's worth, I like some of Sasquatch's lineup this year, but allot of those are bands Roo has seen before, and very few in the way of legends, new indie buzz groups, cool harder rock bands, Roo has all those in spades.
Really? Nobody has taken of this care of this yet?
The main complaints about Sasquatch's lineup is that there are too many new indie buzz groups.

I understand the fun in occasionally being a jackass, but...I don't understand why you keep returning to this message board when the only thing you ever have to say is how everything is better than Bonnaroo this year. It is neither constructive, necessary, nor welcome. We already have enough people around here crying about the lineup who are actually attending.
Wouldn't your time be better served on the message boards of the festivals you actually want to attend this year? Since you're clearly a hipster, maybe your time would even be better served by freeze framing the Girls "Lust for Life" video and pretending you could be the guy who is singing into the other guy's weiner.
