Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The only advantage I see Sasquatch having over Bonnaroo is that it doesn't have a whiny mob of smurfs with an undeserved sense of entitlement proliferating in its community. You guys seriously need to lay off the corn if you think the Sasquatch lineup is even marginally better than the initial Bonnaroo lineup. Anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to go. Better yet, stop posting in this forum while you're at it.
I'm confused..........which are you saying is better?
Bonnaroo has a bunch of whiny smurfs with entitlement but has a better lineup? Which festival are you saying not to go to lol. I'm so confused

I'm sure this is exactly what AC/Superfly wants...
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
ALL of this said, I am going to Bonnaroo, my third in a row, and I am still quite excited about it, and some of the artists on the lineup...
I just would have loved to have seen more from Bonnaroo, especially in light of the other competing festivals.
Fair enough. Hope you have a great time there.
Do like I said though..........check the full Roo lineup from the bottom up. If there are bands that you don't know/recognize click on their name and skim through their bio. If the description sounds like a type of music you'd like then go to their sites/myspace or download an album or something.
I can't tell you how many bands i've fallen in love with at Bonnaroo simply because I researched who is playing before going each year. Thursday is usually my highlight of the festival because it's less crowded but just as entertaining. Once the schedule comes out it's even easier.....because you can see when you have openings and catch bands that you may not have otherwise.
I highly recommend Dave Rawlings Machine (though I doubt they'll be a Thursday act).

I've researched every band, and I gotta admit im still disappointed.
edit: though not because there isnt some good stuff in the low card.
There's nothing wrong with that. You tried 'em out and they're not for you. Are you definitely going/not going this year or are you still deciding? If you're still deciding, then maybe hold off until next year. I'm going to hold out hope that Superfly bounce back with a stellar lineup for the 10th annual roo.........but I'm not buying a ticket until the lineup is out.

Ouch. I'm sorry, man. As disappointed as I am in the lineup - at least I didn't already have tix purchased..that would've really bummed me out. You gonna sell 'em, or go?
Dont worry about me man. Ill still have a good time. Just i hope no one expects me to stop complaining any time soon. I fully anticipate still complaining about this lineup for the rest of my life.

And I hope you don't expect myself (and others) to stop trying to debate it with you. All in the name of good discussion and back and forth about music though, of course. At least your complaints are rational and you have reasons behind them. Some are just flipping out because of one act on the lineup.
I wouldn't have bought a presale. I bought a presale ticket for 2009 and while I'm glad it worked out........I was so worried about how the lineup would be that I wouldn't do it again.

See i have never been disappointed in a Roo lineup, at least in comparison to the ticket price. That was my reasoning. To save 40 bucks on something i would be going to anyway.

Live and learn, I guess. Don't get a presale next year.
Plus, once you're down on the farm your head won't be filled with so many negative thoughts on the lineup. It just sucks now because you have so much time to sit and look at it and pick it apart, meanwhile all these other festivals are announcing their lineups that may be more to your liking.......it can make things a little rough. Like you said, i'm sure you'll have a good time.

I think if Bonnaroo tickets cost as much as sasquatch tix, the cost to benefit ratio would be much more acceptable. I'd probably go, if only for the experience.

Hmmmm.... Not counting Dave, KoL, or Weezer who are all just okay to me, I still count over 30 bands I want to see on this year's Bonnaroo line-up. Yes My Morning Jacket and Ween are awesome but they've both been at Bonnaroo multiple times. Massive Attack would be pretty cool but I'll be okay not seeing them this year. I really do love this web site but for 2 weeks now, it's been nothing but negativity and disappointment.
I'm going to my 4th Bonnaroo this year and looking forward to it. But every time I get on Inforoo, I feel bad for liking bands on the line-up. I start to question my own musical preferences because I read all these negative opinions. Thread after thread. You guys are total Debbie Downers at the moment. Can we at least be reasonable so I can enjoy coming to this web site again? That's all I ask. Thanks for your time.
I went to both Sasquatch and Roo last year. The Gorge is a really really nice venue, but there is a higher chance of rain at the Gorge in May than at Roo in June, and also there seem to be a ton of people crammed into a small space at Sashquatch. There are no ins-and-outs at Sashquatch. You have to bring all your gear for the day in which totally sucks with so many people. I remember crammed in and everyone having huge backpacks. Also sitting on that hill for 3 days gives you a perma wedgie. Roo is a better experience without a question but Sashquatch is fun too.
I got my Bonnaroo ticket in pre-sale and couldn't be more excited for June to come. Different strokes for different folks, but let us bask in our excitement.
You guys do realize all the negativity and discussion about the line-up is EXACTLY what Superfly and AC Entertainment want? Any press/talk about the festival whether it is positive or negative is GOOD PRESS. Both AC and Superfly know that people will make their own decisions on whether or not to drop 260 bucks on a ticket. Not if some tells them it sucks. By many people talking about Bonnaroo, alot more people are going to know about it and thus more people are more likely to buy a ticket.
The most popular article on JamBase right now is the line-up announcement of Bonnaroo. Not Wakarusa, not All Good, not Wanee, not any "jamband" or "heady" festival, but Bonnaroo. Whether or not you like the line-up, people are talking about it and more people are going to know about it. And because of that Bonnaroo will continue to be the highest grossing festival in North America.

It does look really amazing. But how easy is it to get close to the stage? One of my favorite things about Bonnaroo is the tents where I can easily get super close to the bands I love.
