I feel like if GWAR has been around this long they must have their show (including the removal/clean up) down to a science. Maybe it's just me not wanting GWAR anywhere near late night but I don't think they'll get (or deserve) one

i don't get it! i mean, i get why guys would love dressing up as centaurs and waving swords around. but i guess i just feel like music is something that i look forward to and makes me feel good, and gwar's music doesn't do that.

Well honey, you're a chick, and it's understandable that broads might not be into that kind of thing. Plus you quote "Downtown Owl" in your signature, so your taste is questionable at best. It's okay.
However, any man out there who doesn't understand why GWAR is f*ckin' awesome can get in line for a throat punch straight from the Capp-master himself. Go back and listen to your weepy little folk singers and noodly talentless jambands, you weasels.

^^lmao....I'm first in line for a throat punch. Having never watched any videos of their show, I was mildly interested in seeing what they had to offer. But if that's what they have to offer....no thanks. You guys enjoy and I pray that they don't get a late night.

every chick i know loves gwar.
they've played twice where i live. once i was pregnant (way too pregnant to be at a gwar show in a tiny moshy smoky bar) and once i was a bridesmaid for my best friend the following morning so i'm PSYCHED to see them finally.
and yeah, they sort of have to play a late night spot somehwere. no one is following gwar. it's a messy messy show. bring ponchos, kids.

There will be lots of throat-punching indeed. In the interest of efficiency, I suggest you use a spiked glove. You could improve your throat punches by at least 15 more per minute if they just lined up and fell over, bleeding profusely from the neck. Slaves will be waiting to drag their lifeless carcasses into a previously carved skull-shaped pit lined with incendiary devices to be set off during GWAR's finale. If the String Cheese Accident gets added, we're gonna need a bigger pit.

well first of all, before you insult people, you might want to make sure you know what the hell you are talking about. i don't like jam bands.
second of all, i was fishing for an explanation from a fan as to how that music is enjoyable and all you just did was reinforce my preconceived notion that people who truly enjoy angry music like GWAR for any other reason than the spectacle are macho small weenies.

Goes without saying, does anyone go anywhere these days without two or three rolls? I know I don't. (for other reasons in my case, it really does fix anything).
i don't go for the duct tape so much, i usually go for giant rubber bands. can't get out of them and they stay on until i use my gardening shears to get them off. enjoy you rubber band snap marks

GWAR will be late night, so lets just skip this foolish idea of them playing during the day...
I am curious as to which of the dj acts will play where though...Disco Biscuits will be the one (other than Jay-Z) that I will be most interested in seeing.

I think GWAR should just hang around all weekend and show up at random shows when bands are about ready to go over schedule, and run the bands off stage (if necessary, mid-song).

chances of them putting Bassnectar and Deadmau5 together in a tent?
I would think they would have to, or have them play on different nights\time slots. The overlap in fan bases would be significant, even though they're quite different.
I was thinking if UM get added they might share a tent with Bisco again...

Late Night sets will be PACKED this year. Especially with the addition of Ween and UM. (They may not both get the LN distinction this year, but it's certainly possible).
im all for creative theatrics and unapologetic irreverence, but that noise they make is simply trash, and no, that's not a subjective judgment, i looked it up.
if they actually did something that approached music along with all the mayhem, curiosity MIGHT make me walk briskly past the tent while they are playing. it's a real shame, but hey, one less conflict right?
Anybody that says that GWAR sucks after watching a shizzy youtube video has no clue. Of course metal sounds like crap when its recorded on someone's phone in a mosh pit. GWAR makes good records. Of course they don't sound exactly like the record live: who does? If you want to listen to music put your headphones on. If you want an experience go to a concert. If you don't understand the genre of music, how are you supposed to be able to criticize?
