As strong as the lineup is I do see one more "big" act getting announced, they can say all they want about the major acts being released, but I think there is at least one left

I think Conan is the last BIG act. Someone else stated that he's asking $100,000 to book his stage show so you can imagine what Roo paid him to do his show AND MC the What stage.
Don't get your hopes up for any MMJ or Arcade Fire or Neil. It would be a big deal for Roo to get them but I think the big additions are really done.
It's also a first year small festival being put on by locals. They are only selling 15,000 tickets tops and don't have the reputation or financial backing as many other festivals.
Personally that lineup is awesome for me. moe., Flaming Lips, and Furthur are great headliners IMO and they just added Umphs, P Funk, STS9, and more. They are listening to the fans and booking bands that have been requested a lot.
Also they're still announcing dozens more bands.
I can't wait for 4th of July with Fireworks and Furthur.
Maine in July is so prime. Nateva is going to be great. And I really like that the organizers will answer questions and discuss things pretty candidly on their Facebook group.
I saw this announcement today on twitter: "SXSW Bands Heading To Bonnaroo w/Justin Jones, Inlets, Pearl and the Beard, Emily Long, Peter Matteson and Hot Rails "
I tried to do some more research to find if they had Bonnaroo dates, but none of these artists have tour dates extending past April. But they indeed have all been playing SXSW. I would figure they are all cafe acts if this is in fact true. Anyone find more information on any of the acts????

so, the only positive ANYONE was putting out there regarding kings of leon headlining this year's bonnaroo was that it was going to be their only scheduled date this year. hmm. now they've released information that they are doing a HUGE summer tour. bonnaroo isn't even the first show of this tour. the line up takes it's 1,000,000th hit.

the people who were going to go and see KOL at roo will still go and the people who hate KOL headlining will still hate. that doesn't change too much imo.

Whatever. Barring any major conflicts I'll be seein' a bit of Kings Of Leon. I like 'em and their new record! But, and I think I've said this before, I don't think they're a good fit fer a headliner at 'Roo yet. I just don't see them havin' the same kinda draw as headliners in the past. Still, I'm excited to see 'em.
Well of course KoL were going to tour this year. They are gaining popularity and the only way to keep that going is to tour. It would be stupid to take a year off.

Is it really that bad that they're playing other dates? If you like Kings of Leon, yay they're at Bonnaroo! If you don't, well that sucks. Most of the bands on the line-up are touring quite a bit. I personally am not offended that Kings of Leon is touring as I certainly wouldn't pay to see them on their own, but I'll probably watch some of their show while I'm resting for The Flaming Lips/probably LCD Soundsystem/ electronic act late night debate.

Anyone know what the chances are or when/if/whatever a real Saturday night headliner will be added? All respect to Stevie, but he should be playing the 6 pm slot.
