Possible link from the hint itself to MoF could be the Rootkit issue from the early releases of MMJ's Z...
Jim James is part of Monsters of Folk, Also in My Morning Jacket, early release of "Z" included Rootkit software, MMJ burned non-rootkit copies for those affected by the rootkit issue... Setting folks alright, 'cause of Sony monitoring the digital right?
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
hey im new here but after reading this, i started brainstorming. figured any ideas might help. so here goes.
Monitoring the digital rights will set you folks all right
first thing that came to my mind was beastie boys, fight for your right(digital rights) to party(set you folks all night?) then i was reading about the metallica hint and did a little research. anthrax sampled a metallica song from master of puppets in their song "I'm the man" and the beastie boys sampled that anthrax song(and sample i believe) in fight for your right.
could be something, could be nothing but i thought i'd just throw that out there and try to help.

Beasties didn't sample Anthrax in Fight For Your Right.

It makes some sense. They are supposed to have a new album released in the first half of 2010. And Interpol is always mentioned on the copyright information on music/movies.

Not to mention, do a google search on "Interpol Band" and nearly every picture will have them wearing suits or shirts and ties. I think I might really be onto something.

wait, how does that relate? (sorry I'm getting all confused here)

Whoa, you're definitely right! Can't believe I never caught that, I usually listen to the audio myself after I upload it and apparently I totally ignored that one. Good catch romerorepeat!

DJJD said this was solved two days ago. So it isn't Interpol or any of the other fifteen guesses made after he said that. He also said it had nothing to do with DRM or downloads, which leaves, of guesses made before he said it was solved, Justice or Lady Gaga, or possibly MoF if anyone can explain how they fit without using DRM or downloads.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted my other comments. Too bad, because Interpol would have made sense.
I could see either Justice or Lady Gaga being sort of the musical opposite of Metallica, but I'm not sure how that would fit in with DJJD saying someone was on the right track when they mentioned folk and hiphop.

He said that cokes was "getting warm" on the genre, so he may not have been saying one of those genres was exactly the correct genre. Then again, maybe he was. Can anyone find any previously guessed folk or hip-hop guesses that aren't based on DRM or downloads? I didn't see anything but maybe I missed something.
I would love for this clue to point to Sublime with Rome...They had copyright issues with their name when they tried touring as Sublime. They changed their name to Sublime with Rome (Ramirez) last year and played at Cypress Hills's 2009 Smokeout Fest...and ska is dancey...Would love to hear Santeria and Smoke 2 on the farm...

Possibly the "censorship" theme in "Baby Boomer" I got nothing here...
I think if I was ever publisher I’d buy a pirate ship Where the mission at each position is to shoot and to click Clean the photos up a little, censor the ship out of it So when we put it up in borders, turn a profit on the trip

A multiple repeat perfomer on the Monsters of Rock festival/tour = Metallica Opposite = Monsters of Folk
This answer just seems to fit better than the other two (imo).
