Album just came out about a month ago... Was one of my fav bands (and I actually sang 2 songs on stage with Dicky in Philly at the Electric Factory back in my ska band singer days)! I'd love to see em tear it up on the Farm.
When applied to lifespan of Knoxvilles legendary punk/pop band, the 5 Twins, the phrase hell freezes over becomes more than mere cliché. No, the band did not dissolve in a drug-fueled ego clash: Its members simply went their own ways after the halcyon daze of high school were overshadowed by darkly looming adulthood. But as fate would have it, the band has seen fit to reconvene after a 25 year absence. And what could be more fitting than for the band to reappear at a tribute to their mentor, the late, great Terry Hill? Just when you least expected it, the Twins are back.
The 5 Twins coalesced in late 1980, a fortuitous period where the band found itself among the vanguard of Knoxvilles first wave of indie rock. In notime flat, the Twins were appearing with Hills band, the pivotal Balboa, at Bundulees lounge, a questionable venue on the Strip that was often referred to as the carpeted sewer. Lets just say that whoever worked the door at Bundulees was a bit, ahem, liberal, and the 5 Twins brought their share of youthful fans to the gigs. The mix of high school punks and Balboas more sophisticated audience of art students, eclectic musicians, and the avant garde set provided an ideal medium for a music scene to form.
The 5 Twins were kind of the little brother band to Balboa, quickly becoming the most popular teenage band in town. The bands fast entrée into the bar scene also provided a foot in the door for other young musicians. Sadly, the 5 Twins tenure was brief. But their legacy persisted and the band is fondly remembered to this day.

Maybe nothing but the Westminster dog show is this month and they have been using an ad with a Bulldog in their commercials. Maybe as a "Farmhound" DJ is pulling for a bulldog to win.
