Ok new direction here. Why is And capitalized in that clue? Usually even in a song title or article you don't capitalize and. If you take all the capital letters for this clue you have T A J A minus the A for without Art.
So Tom And Jerry without Art would just be T and J

Oh wow. Paul Simon sounds like a perfect fit for this clue...between how easy it was and the fact that the answer is PAUL SIMON it seems a little too good to be true, but still...it makes so much sense!
And if Paul Simon is right, that makes this hawking's 2nd solved clue - in only 15 posts! I'm amazed. ;D Congrats.
Edit: Damn. Spoke too soon. And somehow didn't notice my phone buzzing for that tweet even though it was in my pocket.

Although it's looking unlikely that Paul Simon is in fact the answer, let me say to all you hoping for S&G that I saw their reunion tour in '03, and I saw Paul solo in '06, and Paul solo was a significantly better show. Their voices don't blend like they used to, and they can't really play off one another so well after so much time has passed. But Paul himself has a stellar backing band and can still kick ass. So if it does turn out to be Paul, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
The sound of animals fighting would be a sick show
If they didn't do anything off the second album. And every song from the first. even though its only four. And Anthony Green could do a solo set or play with Circa Survive. and RX Bandits could play. and Craig Owens could leave as soon as they were done.
Tom and Jerry without any art would just be music and sound effects. No vocals, but there are "sound effects."
Simon and Garfunkel without Garfunkel would just be Simon.
Ed Simons is 1 of the Chemical Brothers -- a duo containing a Tom and a Simon(s) but not an Art. And they have an album coming out this Spring. Similar to Tom n Jerry, their music is light on vocals but has sound effects.
Note: Chemical & Brothers both have OCHO letters in them. So does Deadmau5.
