My brain is soooo fried from these clues...but, my most recent feeling is that this could be David Bowie. I am to exhausted to explain how I got there, but that would be awesome!!!!

Alright, seems like people are calling MMW for this - but I'm starting to get into the guessing thing and wanted to throw this out there. Anyone guessed Ghostland yet? I know they played 2 yrs ago, but when he put up little skeletons I thought of it like up high watching skeletons do stuff... observing a ghostland? so after the initial thought I googled amoeba and ghostland and the first result was this... 74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:rc4xrKB0zhoJ:www.coachella.com/forum/showthread.php%3Fp%3D1474273+ghostland+amoeba&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us (look @ first post of page)

Seems even djjd's supporting clues can't entice us into pursuing this one much further. Only thing I can think of with for little skeletons is trilobites & dia de los muertos. Don't know what to do with either of those suggestions but it's all I got.
Farmhound said Guitarman was on the right track with protozoans, a word of Latin origin. 'Amoeba' is derived from a latin word meaning change, 'Metanoia' is a latin word loosely meaning, to change one's mind.
The MGMT single Metanoia isn't listed anywhere on Amoeba's September 08' releases. Furthermore, a search for Metanoia on the website turns up no results at all (does that mean they don't stock that record??). Also isn't most of their stuff of the "concept album" variety?
Does anyone else remember them saying "We'll see you next year" during that awesome show last year or am I crazy?? Anyways, i don't know how they would fit any of the other hints farmhound has given out, I just wanted to make them fit one of the clues and this was the path of least resistance haha.. any thoughts?
What about a band called Prototype (Heavy Metal). I am totally guessing at this but i am going off the hint by DJJD saying something about a Concept Record and guitarman1420 saying something about Amoeba = Protozoan. Its a stab in the dark here, but i read they were releasing a new album so i guess they could be touring and with the rumors of GWAR, it wouldnt be to far fetched.

I agree with WD... It's a stretch to Imagine anybody playing 3 years in a row, but I did hear them Say "We'll see you again next year, Bonnaroo" at the end of their set last year.
It really does seem like it could fit the clue, with the biological theory part fitting into the record not being at the L.A, Berkley, or San Fran Amoeba locales.. But hell, to experience another show like last years and to get the hear the new tracks off "Congratulations" would easily make another RooYear for the Dr.
Let's review the clue logic: You find this in amoeba but not the L.A. location not the LA location based on hints from djjd indicated he was talking about the unicellular organism, not the music store his little skeleton hint led us to the little amoeba skeletons called radiolaria djjd also mentioned concept albums. Medeski Martin and Wood have a series of concept albums called the radiolarians series.
There is no way that this clue doesn't refer to MMW.
I am new to this board, but have been reading through the clues and I do have another thought. I didn't know that this was likely solved until after I went down this track. So I wanted to share my hard work, but it's probably not right.
Could it possibly be Paul Westerberg??
My thoughts are along the same as the Radiolarian track.
Amoeba= Radiolarians which are "amoeboid protozoa that produce intricate mineral skeletons" and "their skeletal remains cover large portions of the ocean bottom" and "they represent an important diagnostic fossil found from the Cambrian onwards." Cambrian "is the first geological period of the Paleozoic era." and Cambrian is "the classical name for Wales."
Cambrian= Wales Rhys Ifans the actor is from Wales, but he use to be lead vocalist in Super Furry Animals. They had several concept albums. I don't stop here though. So Rhys Ifans was in a movie called The Replacements.
The Replacements= Paul Westerberg He was their former lead singer and rhythm guitarist. He also played solo in store at Amoeba records in 2002.
