kind of weak headliners in my opinion. I was considering going until I saw the lineup...not enough for me for a cross country trip. I think alot of the undercard that I am interested in will be at roo.
Well, I didn't care about Coachella at all last year. But if this was this was the lineup for 3 days of Roo, I'd be very very happy. Phoenix, Portugal, Matt n Kim, Vampire Weekend, Echo, Hockey, Orbital, Gary Numan, Mayer Hawthorne, LCD, Dillinger, Pretty Lights, Camera Obscura...let alone Gorillaz n Muse.
Say what you will, there are a lot of fun shows in there.
I really hope Roo has their sh*t together this year.
I note that last yr. the Yeah Yeah Yeah's did both iirc. Not on the Coach lineup...so I wonder if they're doing Roo this year.
That is probably the sweetest "most relevant" festival lineup that I've seen (i.e., no '70s/'80s/'90s arena acts that everyone has already seen). Not that there's anything wrong with Waters, Pearl Jam, the Dead, Bruce, Petty, Beasties, and DMB ... but when they come to your area once every other year it gets less exciting. I'm not saying I would prefer JayZ/Muse/Gorillaz to something like Waters/Young/DMB, but it's certainly more bland (I'd actually probably pick the latter). Coachella has always been about the "cutting edge" and "emerging" artists, and they certainly proved it once again this year.
That being said, PLEASSSSSSSE give up Sly & the Family Stone (and MAKE Sly show up). The thought of 'I Want To Take You Higher' in a late-night tent gets me wayyyy to excited.

This lineup fits my tastes magnificently, and I'm strongly considering making the trip for my first Coachella (will def wait another couple weeks for the Roo lineup).
What's the deal with the question marks after Thom Yorke? Does that mean he's not confirmed? WTF!?
This fits my taste in music perfectly as well. Ive never been so impressed by a Sunday lineup as I am for there fest... Every day there are at least 10 things I want to see. By far the best Coachella lineup ive ever seen, I was also not impressed by last years lineup aside from Paul of course. Ide still do anything to see him just once...

that's just how he's booking himself apparently. the real question is whether or not flea is included.
This is a really good line-up this year, though in my opinion not as good as last year. Weak headliners save Gorillaz, but a fantastic undercard. There are alot of bands I would love to see at Roo.
As for Roo veterans I'd like to see return are: Vampire Weekend, Grizzly Bear, The Avett Brothers, Yeasayer, Dirty Projectors, Old Crow Medicine Show, Portugal. The Man, and De La Soul.
Others that haven't been to Roo would be: LCD Soundsystem, Public Image Ltd., The Specials, Deer Tick, Baroness, Devo, Porcupine Tree, Flying Lotus, Sly and The Family Stone, Sunny Day Real Estate, Yo La Tengo, Gil Scott-Heron, King Khan and The Shrines, and Mayer Hawthorne.

Eh, whatever. The hipsters can have their precious Coachella lineup. Aside from Gorillaz and Thom Yorke, nothing on that lineup really excites me. We'll get a good amount of the undercard, anyways. I'd much rather see some legends tear it up on the What Stage for three hours than see the most overrated rapper alive and a bunch of predictable indie acts before midnight.

People are impressed by this? Really? I think it is an extremely weak undercard and a surprisingly weak headlining class.
easily one of the worst chella lineups ever. roo's not gonna have a problem putting something together bigger and better than this. i mean there are over 60 bands here i'd like to see, but the problem is that its missing the huge acts that bonnaroo always has. if this were roo, muse would probably be a latenight on the which stage, jay-z and gorillaz would either be in the beasties spot from last year or a latenight on the what stage. and even after those bands it drops down a lot.
I would take: Thom Yorke, The Dead Weather, Portugal. The Man, The Avett Brothers, MGMT, Them Crooked Vultures, Spoon, Sly, and Phoenix.....hope to see some of these names at Roo!

Don't care what anybody says.
Coachella has one sick lineup this year. I think their headliners are great. I mean they aren't the biggest names out there, but they all put on incredible live shows. I always go to festivals for the undercard anyway, but damn.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
IMO, that's a sick bunch of headliners and performers.
I mean....that's a sick lineup, top to bottom.
Never, since Bonnaroo started have I ever been envious of a Coachella lineup. This year, Bonnaroo is going to need to pull out something major
You beat me to it.
THIS. THIS. THIS!
Also to support Juggernaut defending the comment about MUSE not being big enough. MUSE are playing a series of stadiums in the US, and they are pretty much selling out. Only the extremely shitty side stage tickets are left. Are King of Leon playing stadiums in the states?

The Kings of Leon are not headlining unopposed, Juggernaut. And no, they're not legends. I never made the claim they were. If they play against Neil Young, he'd be a legend tearing it up on the What Stage for roughly three hours, right? That's what I'm saying. Please refrain from using words like "brah" in an attempt to make me look like an asshole. And yeah, I'd rather see The Rolling Stones or The Who than Jay-Z. I'd rather hear "Exile on Main Street" or "Tommy" than "The Blueprint 3." I'm jealous of the Gorillaz, but there's not much else. I brought it up already, but I'm certainly not jealous of the midnight cut-off.

Actually, muse is playing arenas in the states. Most of them the same arenas that the Kings of Leon played throughout 2009. Also, at least in Nashville you can get lower level tickets "that arent nutsy side stage tickets" considering my buddy bought them yesterday in section 115 or something like that after they have been on sale for over a month. Also, like Muse the KOL are much more popular in Europe than in the US. I'm not saying that KOL are better but they are similar when it comes to popularity and stature. Huge in Europe, Pretty Popular in the US, Muse probably a little bigger in Europe and KOL a little bigger in the US. Therefore in my opinion the yare both weak Headliners, but from what about I hear Muse's stage show probably gives them the edge.

I only didn't bring them up because, as far as I know, they're still a strong rumor, right? But make no mistake about it, I'd definitely love to see Pavement.
