I think most of us would agree: satisfying follow-up but certainly not as strong as the debut. Yes?
Definitely agree. Solid, but not nearly as.....big? of a sound as the first album. The first album was exciting and dancey, this album is just more meh.

Wholeheartedly agree. I'm planning to see them at HoB New Orleans in April, and I'm anxious to hear what the new songs sound like live.

I remember White Sky was amazing from their Roo show. Overall I like the older one a little better. The standouts to me are White Sky, Giving Up The Gun and I Think Ur Contra right now. There are a few extremely skippable songs on this one.

Yeah, I can tell it's something that I'm going to have to listen to several times before I feel it. Their performance on Conan last night was wild, I must say.
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.

I'm going to wait until I get paid to buy the vinyl. But I agree this album is definitely a grower, while the s/t was immediate for me. Run is an early favorite on the album, but the best track they've released lately is California English Pt. 2.
this album took a few listens before it grew on me. tracks 7-10 are excellent.
i am sad they will not be at bonnaroo.
edit: i tried to buy tickets to go see them in austin and they were already sold out. scalpers are selling 25$ tickets for 100$! boooooo. that makes me sad. their show at ACL 2008 was one of my favorites.
