For the record, I really want Kanye at Roo. As I remember, these portos didn't have the graffiti on them the first night or two we were there. Maybe they hauled in these portos later, or maybe someone sprayed them one night, but I remember walking to the bathroom one morning and those being a new thing. Maybe there are multiple sets of portos like that? I think we were in Camp Long Duk Dong.
Just checked with my sis and the portos weren't there the first night.
Well Rooers are opinionated and that 08 LN with Mr. West was memorable not for the performance; which IMO was some what lackluster.
IDK maybe my friend & cousin, that made the trek to the farm with me that year, hyped Kanye a bit to much and I was expecting more.
But what made that LN memorable was the experience. The experience that began with Pearl Jam's awesome performance. After PJ we headed back to camp for some corn n' brews. My cousin wanted to leave soon after, he said he wanted a "front row spot" so he took off to achieve that.
While my friend & I partied some more then left to Lupe Fiasco's. After that we headed to What Stage and ended up left of the stage with a cool group of guys/gals (which by the way helped my friend from dehydration with some H2O from their camelback, THANKS)
The experience of how the atmosphere began to change, how the crowd began to take the shift for the worst after every delay they announced.
The time invested waiting was not put to waste as our group made the best of it.
Those wee hours that faithful night/morning on the farm will forever live in infamy in the minds of the Rooers in attendance and those who have heard form a friend who heard from a friend OR saw those portos ;D
I'll welcome Kanye back that was one memorable moment on the farm.
Oh and my cousin didn't get his "front row spot" & he missed Lupe ;D
to clarify, i dont hate rap as a whole. Rap is too oversampled, overdubbed, and it dont translate well live. never saw a live rapper that i could understand... it sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown.
