2.) Moonalice - I don't think anyone has mentioned this band yet and I'm not sure why. They were amazing and simply above and beyond any expectation I had of them. They played at the Troo Music Lounge on Friday afternoon but needed a MUCH bigger venue than that. I hope they come back to Bonnaroo next year and play a bigger stage. Awesome stuff!
That was pretty spectacular. I always knew GE Smith could play guitar, but his vocal on Sugaree was amazing!

this was my show i tried to promote to our neighbors and my friends. i ended up rolling solo and had a hell of a time, wish they were in a tent. but they kept the ol school 'roo spirit alive plus they brought a strong resume to 'roo...lot of talent for the troo music lounge. anyone get the i miss jerry stickers being thrown out by banana bread dave?

oh yeah. my husband was on the FRONT ROW (he got there before my daughter and I did) and was directly handed one.
and my daughter happened to catch one of the ice cold towels being thrown out into the crowd - which came in handy because it was getting pretty warm out there.
SANTIGOLD! This show was one of the best of the weekend for me. She was awesome; had so much personality and seemed like she was having a blast. Plus her backup dancers were so much fun to watch.

She was a fun show. I was sad that she kept having trouble with her sound, but it was great of her to basically say that she wasn't going to give us a half-ass show, so she wanted the sound right. Her crowd interaction was great!

i dont think i saw a bad show, but one that i didnt expect was yeasayer, bunch of my friends were into them and i went and had a blast. Also best sunday ever! and Portugal. The Man and Murs destroyed thursday night. I would also say Rodrigo y Gabriella but i knew they were gonna be amazing and i kinda liked that insane heat feeling, sticking it out for the whole show then going to a tent show, of Motreal, which also blew me away. I saw them like 5 years ago and they have significantly improved. Bust seriously sunday Badu, Snoop, Phish! didnt see DEP or COheed, but heard that rocked!
Ben Harper and Relentless7. i've always respected the guy but was never much of a fan. i planned on only checking out a song or two before heading to see NIN but i didn't want to leave. id bet the superjam he did in 07 had a huge impact on their sound. too bad their cd doesn't come close to capturing the energy they had live. he's playing in AZ with social distortion and flogging molly and i might pay the $60 just to see them again.
i didnt know anything about snoops music at all but i had the best time at that show. i think he really understood the crowd and the event. i like the way he involved the crowd and it was fun that everyone sang along (except me - but i sorta pretended).
Im glad to hear alot of people got into Grizzly Bear over the Roo weekend. Great band. I know all the talk right now is about Veckatimest, which is a great album (Possibly the best so far this year), BUT... Id also recommend Yellow House. Fantastic tunes.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

have been a portugal the man fan for years... but wasn't expecting their show to be incredible, since most of their live vids on youtube weren't too great
but boy was i glad i was wrong, my favorite set of the entire festival
--Zac Brown Band (expecting cheesy country twang but got insane reggae bluegrass) --Elvis Perkins in Dearland (Bon Iver sat in for a bit and made the set) --Grace Potter (loved her studio stuff but didn't think it was humanly possible to be this good on stage) --Rodrigo y Gabriela (wandered over by myself and couldn't stop dizzy hippie dancing)
AA Bondy - I think he's going to be great in a few years time. He's got a great feel for the crowd and a great handle on how to get the sounds he wants out of the guitar. The next step (which he was close to doing this time) is soloing.
Ha, soloing! I'm guessing you've never heard of Verbena before? You have some researching to do.
Coheed and Cambria. I didn't even plan on seeing then, but a friend of mine wanted to see them, so we split seeing them and Band of Horses. Coheed blew me away.
