1. Bruce Springsteen (3rd row in pit, enough said) 2. Cage the Elephant (If you saw them they'd be on your top 10...hoping for youtube vids) 3. Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Acoustic version of Maps was cool, mics get destroyed) 4. Wilco (Cline can really play) 5. Public Enemy (1988 Nation of Millions album played in its entirety) 6. Beastie Boys (Had no idea they were that talented) 7. Phish (Very tight band, I just wish Trey would sing more...know that's not the style) 8. Zac Brown Band (Devil Went Down to Georgia was cool) 9. TV on the Radio (Rock and Roll...wish that bass was turned down a tad tho) 10. Andrew Bird (Wish I could whistle like that guy)
I have to mention that this was my first year doing VIP and I did not realize that the VIP party thurs night lasted as long as it did. I heard some sick music coming from behind my tent at about 10:45 the first night so I grab a beer and head back to the VIP Party which was still in full swing. There I saw the last 5 minutes of Janelle Monae's set. My mind was blown. Energy energy energy, props to her. I'm pissed that I wasn't there for the whole thing.

Bruce Springsteen Nine Inch Nails - Scary and beautiful at the same time. I'm pretty sure Trent Reznor hates joy. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals - What a strong live group. Jimmy Buffett (Very fun and chilled way to spend the first hour of the Bonnaroo day) Santigold Dear and the Headlights (The live energy reminds me of the Avett Brothers) Jimmy Fallon (Well done for someone everyone thought would be awful. Very entertaining, and exceeded very low expectations. His impressions and singing are spot on.) Yeasayer Snoop Dogg (Much better musically than expected, much less random babel about smoking, etc.) Band of Horses/Bon Iver (Fairly boring stage shows, but sounded beautiful and haunting, so I loved it)
1. Beastie Boys 2. Al Green 3. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 4. Wilco 5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs 6. Portugal. The Man. 7. NIN 8. Phoenix 9. Heartless B@stards 10. Band of Horses

1. David Byrne 2. Mars Volta 3. Phoenix 4. NIN 5. Of Montreal 6. TV on the Radio 7. Bon Iver 8. Galactic 9. Elvis Perkins in Dearland 10. Alberta Cross
edit: I forgot a band... then I changed the order, so sue me.
#1: NINE INCH NAILS. I'm with everyone else when I put Nine Inch Nails as far and away the best show of the weekend. I don't (well, didn't previously) consider myself a huge NIN fan, but I figured it would be worth seeing, being their last North American show and all. They absolutely blew my mind in every way possible. I've said for a while now that Radiohead's 2006 Bonnaroo performance would forever go down as the best concert of my life.. well this show made me re-question that. It was that good.
#2: Phish (Fri. night). Strong but distant runner-up. Sick run from Harry Hood all the way through to the YEM sandwich with Wilson. These guys were born to play the What Stage, and both they and the crowd knew it.
#3: Portugal. The Man. Amazing energy, incredible musicianship through a set chock full of tempo shifts and key changes. Best Thursday set I've seen at Bonnaroo, really hope these guys will be back.
#4: The Mars Volta #5: Passion Pit #6: Grace Potter & the Nocturnals #7: Moe. #8: Phish (sun. night) #9: Santigold #10: Ani Difranco
Honorable Mentions: Band of Horses, Wilco, Yeah Yeah Yeah's
1. NIN (new best show ever) 2. The Dillinger Escape Plan (on the mic during "come to daddy"!! Holla!) 3. Girl Talk (best party ever) 4. Beastie Boys 5. Public Enemy 6. The Mars Volta 7. Murs 8. Toubab Krew 9. Shadows Fall 10. Snoop Dogg

1.NIN 2.Phish (late night)[Pit] 3.Bruce Springsteen 4.MGMT 5.The Mars Volta 6.Portugal. The Man 7.Girl Talk 8.Animal Collective 9.Passion Pit 10.Katzenjammer (They would be alot higher BUT...I enjoyed 1-9 alot more because I have been wanting to see them for awhile. However they impressed the hell out of me)
Honorable Mention: Wilco didn't see much or they may of cracked the top 10 but they were really good
1. moe. - seriously can't believe they aren't getting more props. I watched all of NIN and then went straight to moe. they kept playing until 6. I thought it was unreal.
2. Public Enemy - If I hadn't seen Phish in Knoxville Wednesday night (which was a killer show) there's no way I could have missed them Friday. I walked by the Public Enemy tent to see what was up and Flava announced that they were going to play the whole Nation of Millions album. I grew up with this album so I stayed and it was awesome. I figured Flava would be somewhat of a novelty, but he's still the best hype man in hip-hop IMO.
3. Passion Pit - great way to start the weekend. Jammed hard in the middle of a huge mud puddle. Set the mood.
4. Pretty Lights. lived up to the hype.
5. Phish sunday - I'm going to download the Friday recording and pretend I was there
6. NIN - seriously... it was a pretty good show... I've never seen them before and am not a huge fan and they played pretty well, but it definitely wasn't the best show I've ever seen. I'm sure the fans thought it was great.
1. Dillinger Escape Plan: stumbled into their tent groggy, tired and proceeded to have my face melted off.
2. Snoop: I'm not a huge rap fan but he was way better than expected. LOL at the stage manager holding the phone up to the screaming crowd with a late Snoop on the other end.
3. Phish: I'm officially a convert! We watched most of Friday's show from the hill, but I went down into the crowd on Sunday and had one of the best times of my life.
4. MGMT
5. Beastie Boys
6. Public Enemy: amazing show but they could have eased up on the political commentary after EVERY song.

In no particular order:
MGMT - was really hyped to see them and they did not disappoint
Dillinger Escape Plan - I was really surprised to see how many people they pulled in. I love them but did not think they would go over well at Bonnaroo
Katzenjammer - I only saw them because I was going to watch Dirty Projectors after them. I thought they were amazing. I went to the Sonic Stage show the next day as well.
Passion Pit - great ending to the opening night.
TV on the Radio - I had never gotten into them before but the live show really impressed me.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - I had been wanting to see them forever.
The Mars Volta - Ditto. They interacted with the crowd a lot more than I expected.
Public Enemy - I was amazed at the energy in the show. I thought it would have been a lot lower. The guy who was talking before they started was godawful though.
There's others I am sure, but it all seems like a bit of a blur to me.
moe. (face-melting first set. sweet grace potter switcheroo. went till 6:30 or 7) phish (sunday) mars volta phish (friday) toubab krewe delta spirit (wandered here accidently trying to keep dry. was really getting into it) gov't mule galactic kaki king midnite

in order... Phish (Friday) Phish (Sunday) Rodrigo y Gabriela Band of Horses Girl Talk Portugal. The Man The Decemberists Toubab Krewe Andrew Bird Gov't Mule
1. Cage The Elephant (This was hands down the best show of the weekend for me) 2. MURS 3. Jimmy Buffet (Ilo & Coral Reefer Allstars) 4. Gov't Mule 5. Erykah Badu 6. Paul Oakenfold 7. Girl Talk 8. Phish (Show #2) 9. Beastie Boys 10. Snoop Dogg (Loved the songs but he was making fun of the crowd the entire set)
11. Zach Deputy (He is amazing, if you were there on Sunday he kept the partying going until atleast 3am)
1.Wilco- (5th row pit in front of Nels) 2. David Byrne- (5th row right side) 3. Nine Inch Nails- (It got a little crazy, but Dead Souls and Wish blew my mind) 4. Phish (Sunday)- (Dance party was great, The Boss sealed the deal) 5. Portugal The Man- (Amazing sound and diversity. Lights were great too) 6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs- (Have been wanting to see them for a long time) 7. Band Of Horses- (Everyone lounging, Nice memories, Nice sunset) 8. Phoenix- (Had to put on my dancing shoes) 9. Alberta Cross- (Not too familiar but was very pleasantly surprised) 10. MGMT- (Just for The Handshake, Kids, and Congratulations)
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
2. Snoop: I'm not a huge rap fan but he was way better than expected. LOL at the stage manager holding the phone up to the screaming crowd with a late Snoop on the other end.
I was in the front row of the pit and the Camera guy actually asked us to scream happy birthday for his son and cheer into his phone. He was leaving a message on his son's voice mail. The camera guy looked pretty shook up after the whole crowd cheered instead of just pit.
I cant put these in any order really...
tobacco - I mean cmon... black moth super rainbow is long overdue for a bonnaroo set
animal collective - I enjoyed the sound quality of AC better in small venues, but their bonnaroo set was grandiose and magnificent
grizzly bear - Played their asses off, dont know of any bands who harmonize voices any better
tobab krewe - A great first band to kick of my favorite day (Friday)
crystal castles - Maybe my favorite, I had no clue she would put on such a great show, and the crowd was a shit ton of fun
Girl Talk - tent party
Yeahsayer - Unique Sound and use of rhythm. Thought there stage setup was neat and certainly much better than the band who followed them up with blinking white lights and static feet. cough mgmt
snoop - Wont ever forget this concert - front row in the pit screamin 187 on a mothaf***n cop!
of montreal - been one of my favorite bands for a long time, was the only band that I saw who f****d shit up at the end of their set. got crowd surfed on by some of the band.
