^ I think the New York Times review of Bonnaroo said Allen Toussaint was playing piano with him the whole time. I wasn't at the show, anyone care to comment on this?
It was just Elvis solo while I was there, about 30-45 mins I guess? I know HE was playing piano then...but later, I still haven't heard!?
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Beasties and Nas were backstage for the Santigold show I believe. No collabs though.
Nobody came out for Of Montreal, as much as I thought Robyn Hitchcock would come out (they're both based in Athens right now). I also thought Robyn might come out for Decemberists, but I guess his part wasn't big enough on the Hazards of Love to warrant a collab.
I've heard so many rumors about the Decemberists "Crazy On You," but I was front row for it. No, Grace Potter didn't come out. No, Karen O didn't come out. No, not even Neko Case came out. It was just the two girls who have been on tour with them and played during their Hazards of Love set (one changed her outfit though). This wasn't the first time on their tour that they've covered that song either (according to the girl next to me who was telling me what songs I might hear in their encore before the show started).
Kind of a bummer that there weren't more collaborations. Or a SuperJam.
