I agree about not missing out on late-night shows.
I guess the best general advice I can think of is to be really open to whatever happens. Spend some time wandering around and see everything there is to see. If you're walking past a stage and you're digging the sound you hear, stop and listen for a while. That kind of stuff. If you plan out your entire schedule and follow it exactly you might be missing out on other stuff.
do not drink alcohol during the day... DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL DURING THE DAY... use sunblock regardless of how tan you already are.... chug water all day/night.... the best part of the roo is the late night... treat it as so... dont blow your wad during the day or during the headliner.... dont sleep in a tent... sleep under an ez-up... bring string and sheets to tie up on the sides to shade yourself when the sun rises and falls....

chill and have a great smurfing time.
This is a big one, don't waste the killer shows and night because you got drunk during the days. It's a marathon not a sprint.
Phuture5 , What is your opinion on those shaded tents, the ones that have mosquito mesh on all 4 sides and no bottom? I was thinking about picking one up.
Don't bring a ton of food. Not only is it too hot to eat a lot but you don't spend a ton of time in camp. There are a ton of cheap vendors and they are good. Carry trail mix. However, DO bring a lot of H20 and remember to drink tons. I run into people every year who end up in the medical tent on IVs due to dehydration. Finally, stay away from the mushrooms. They'll fuck you up. Have a great time!
The don't drink during the day advice is probably good, but for me, I stay drunk the entire 4 days. Best advice I can give, is have a good attitude and enjoy yourself.

Ez-up is certainly the way to go. Don't worry about having mesh or sides bugs are no concern at 'roo. Have a sheet to put up on the east side of the EZ set your tent on the west side silver tarp over tent is very helpful. Sheet are best as they will allow a breese to come through where a heavy tarp or sides will not. So much great advice on here bro look around. you'll find more info than you need.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

Shade tent is a must! The mesh sides were more of a hassle to us so we didn't use them. We put a tarp up just on the side where the sun was. We didn't want to put sheets or tarp on all four sides b/c we wanted to be able to hang and talk with our neighbors. It's cool to have the option for in the morning when you are trying to sleep though.
Kalin its great to hear from you its been a few years we will definitely meet up before and during roo keep in touch I'll show you the best way to enjoy roo with my 7 years experience under my belt I've got most of it down to a science at this point.
Take Care of your Feet or you are done (I learned that in 06)
I wouldn't bring any corn. It's a farm. There's plenty of corn there. Don't forget the sunblock!
I've had trouble finding corn. Everything else is easy. Corn - sometimes tough. I didn't look very long though.
Drink plenty of water, get shade when you can, enjoy the late nights, don't be mean. Everyone should be kind to each other at Roo. It's like a nice little community.
I think that we've sufficiently stressed the no alcohol until sundown rule but we kinda glanced over the gold bond rule. You definitely want to bring some to prevent disco balls.
Also, baby wipes are awesome to help you feel refreshed.

It's easy, in the excitement, after you get your campsite set up, to want to take off and go exploring. Make sure first, that you pay attention to where your campsite is and know how to get back. My first year, it took me a good 4 hours to find my way back to my tent.
I can't stress enough bringing your own toilet paper. Sure, the porto-johns are stocked with TP. However, sometimes it is of low quality, runs out, or some jackass thinks p*ssing on it is funny. Yeah, bring your own TP. I recommend Charmin Ultra Soft.
The best advice I would give to a rookie rooer is that Bonnaroo is a marathon not a sprint. Don't go so crazy thursday and friday that saturday and sunday aren't enjoyable. I had two friends that went crazy thursday and friday and they were so tired by saturday that they couldn't really enjoy themselves.

Yes... stay away from the mushrooms... they are the reason I have no recollection of Tom Petty's performance in 2006...
Bring a small roll of tp in a camelback or backpack...
Dont pack too much food...
Premake a shitload of turkey, ham, pbj, and pb and fluff sandwiches and they are easy to grab and eat...the last thing you want to do tired sweaty and hot in 90 degree weather is try to cook food on a grill or make a sandwich sith dirty ass hands... premake everything....
BRING A PONCHO SO YOU DONT MISS RAINY LATENIGHT PERFORMANCES!!!
get an airmattress... even if the bottom of the ten gets wet... you will be above the water on the air mattress...

i could go on for hours...
I second the whole sandwich thing. I have never had a problem making them on site, but the sandwiches are the easiest food thing to bring. If made right, they can have all of the nutrients you need in a meal. Also, bring a multivitamin to avoid vitamin deficiencies throughout the weekend. In short, give yourself a chance to feel good. If you end up feeling like sh*t, make sure it's because you were just too hardcore, not because you didn't eat right, wear sunscreen, drink enough water, etc.
Forget all advise except for Lakai's. Have fun exactly when you want, as hard as you want, and for as long as you can. Don't pace yourself your first year. Blow it out and live Bonnaroo to its fullest. If you're too tired to go nuts on Sunday, so be it. If you miss a band, who cares, you experienced far more than that one band was worth. You've lived it as hard as you can. Future years are reserved for pacing. Your first year is about living it up and figuring out where your limits are.
