Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Is your boyfriend alright? - He's ok. He tore a ligament in his ankle training for a marathon in the spring. Just getting that fixed up so he can go back to running and out of my hair :-P
How many states have you been to? - Maine, Vermont, Mass, NH, NJ, Michigan, Virginia, California, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina. How many countries (besides America) have you been to? - never been out of the country. I really need to work on that.
When was the last time you crossed state lines? - To go see Dr. Dog at MassMoCA a month or two ago.
What's your favorite thing about living where you do? - Oh man. So many things. I'm only 3 hours from NYC & Boston. The Adirondacks and Catskills are just an hour away. And my little city is going through an awesome revolution that I'm thoroughly enjoying being a part of and watching.
What's the worst thing about living where you do? - Our live music scene is seriously lacking. 2/3rds of the venues I used to frequent have shut down. So I have to constantly travel for shows. Which I don't mind, but it increases my expenses and that sucks. Also, a lot of people have been going missing lately and it's becoming unsettling.
What artist/band have you seen the most times? - Brand New. Over 20 times.
What do you want to see, and surprisingly haven't yet? - I got on the LCD Soundsystem train late, I'd love to see them so all those reunion rumors got me hoping. But of bands/artists that are still performing? Beck. He came to MassMoCA a year or two ago but I couldn't go because it was my Dads birthday.
How did you originally discover Bonnaroo? - it was 2008. I have no idea how I found out about it but I really really really wanted to go to this place where music went on all day and night. Didn't get there until 2013.
And how many have you been to? - Two. '13 & '14.
What other festivals have you been to? - Bamboozle. I went to it for 3 or 4 years. It was this emo kid's paradise at the time.
What festivals do you plan on attending in 2016? - Roo is at the top, lineup permitting. Maybe Gov Ball or Boston Calling. Also, want to but haven't yet? - Gov Ball, Boston Calling, Newport Folk all sound like a good time. I should probably check out Mountain Jam at some point since it's only about an hour from my house. It's starting to feel a little wrong that I haven't been yet, but their lineup always falls just a little short for my tastes.
What's your favorite albums of 2015? - Okay, so confession time: I am terrible at keeping up with new releases. I am currently enjoying the new Django Django album immensely though. Courtney Barnett is also rocking my world too. That new Foals album is pretty killer as well.
Best experience at a show? - Theres two and they both involve Brand New. First one is when we went to Jersey for a Devil & God release show and were right in front between Jesse & Vin. Vin kept saying ridiculous things to us between songs, then said he was going to puke on us (for the second time in my life.). The second was when we drove to Burlington on a whim to see them. No tickets. Got them out front. After the show, my one friend decided we should walk around back and see what would happen. The band was out back smoking and I got to meet them. But I totally fangirled and couldn't make words. Jesse hugged me. Life was perfect for those few minutes. Worst experience at a show? - I feel like I have a bad time every time I see a show at Upstate Concert Hall. It's a terrible venue with terrible staff but it's all we have so.. Waaaah.
Your thoughts on country music? - No sir, I don't like it. Well, not the pop-country nonsense that passes for music these days.
Metal? - I enjoy it.
Jazz? - I respect it but it's not something I can throw on and listen to a whole record of.
Would you rather be outside in rain or snow? - Snow! Speaking of, this weather is bullshit. It's been in the 50s & 60s for like 2 weeks now. It's weird and I don't like it.
Do you consider yourself to be like Tina Belcher in ways? If so, how? - hahaha yes. Because I am just as awkward and have a thing for butts. I don't write erotic friend fiction though.
What's your favorite style of pizza? - New York style. Not eaten with a fork and knife because it's fucking pizza. Fold it and chow down. What's your favorite toppings on a pizza? - Pepperoni.
Target or Walmart? - Target.
Home Depot or Lowes? - eh, whichever is closer to where I am when I realize I need something from a home improvement store.
Popeyes or KFC? - Neither. Yuck.
Ford or Chevy? - I'm gonna go with Ford because my uncle worked for them and he got us sweet discounts on cars for a while.
Waffle House, IHOP, or Denny's? - I've never been to a Waffle House so I can judge them yet. I'm going with Denny's for now because the waitresses were super nice to us when we got stuck in some nasty storms in WV on our way to Roo in '13.
Pancakes or Waffles? - all breakfast foods are equal in my eyes. But pecan waffles are the bee's knees.
Is a burger a sandwich? Yes. So is a hot dog. Just because it doesn't have sandwich in the name doesn't make it not one.
Northampton soon? - Yes! There's a couple shows I have my eyes on there. Just have to check dates and hope I have a better work situation by then.
What would be the first question you asked yourself?
What song should be added to the playlist of corny 80s love songs I started last night to blast out our window to the couples that insist on yelling outside?
Answer: Something by Michael Bolton needs to be there.
if you were in a band, what instrument would you want to play (or would you sing) ? - It'd be cool to sing in a band, I think. I'm not very good though, but since when has that stopped anyone?
why is there an "i" in kait? - Because my name is actually Kaitlyn and we just take the "-lyn" off.
what do you do when you have absolutely nothing to do? - Watch 30 Rock. Listen to music. Nap.
what is your go-to cocktail? beer? - Cocktail: Whiskey & ginger ale. Beer: Ommegang Rare Vos.
what did you do for NYE and was is spectacular? - We went to the boyfriend's brother's house for a little gathering of cool people in fancy clothes. Everyone was having fun but me because I was being a grumpy gus and blerg, NYE was rough.
would you trade one of your fingers to be independently wealthy for the rest of your life? two fingers? (is there a finger limit?) - I don't think so. I kinda need and like my fingers. Would reconsider once the arthritis really sets in though.
what is your favorite food, and would you rather eat it every day for the rest of your life, or never eat it again? - Grilled Cheese. I'd eat it every day and be so happy.
as a young child (<5) what was your biggest fear? - The dark.
where do you hope to see yourself in 5, 10, 15, and 20 years? - 5 years: I'd like to be starting to settle down somewhere. I'd also like to have a year or two of living somewhere that isn't Troy. 10 years: Mostly settled, have dogs, travel. 15: Still settled, still dogs, still travel... 20: I guess retirement would be on my mind then, so hopefully I decide to stay with one career path long enough to build up some savings and make some smart investments so that can happen.
Popeyes or KFC? - Neither. Yuck.
does this mean you don't like fried chicken, or just not fast food fried chicken? - Fried chicken is delicious. Fast food fried chicken is not.
What would be the first question you asked yourself?

Answer: Something by Michael Bolton needs to be there.
What's your favorites by Michael Bolton?
Any (other) cheesy 80s love songs appear on your iPod?
If you could try out any job for a day, what would you like to try? - Surgeon. I was the weirdo in my Anatomy & Physiology courses that did dissections alone and loved it. My teacher complimented my skill with the scalpel and used my cat on the lab final.
What’s one of the strangest things you’ve ever done? - When I first started college, I studied Physical Therapy/Athletic Training. My A&P teacher didn't have anything planned before one of the breaks so he took anyone who wanted to the morgue. The school has a mortuary science program. I went and poked a cadaver or two. It was strange.
What’s your favorite joke? - A bear walks into a bar. The bartender asks for his order. Bear says, "I'd like a gin......... and tonic." "Sure, but why the big pause?" asks the bartender. "'CAUSE I'M A BEAR!" (when telling joke in person, you throw your hands up like a bear. Add a rawr, be creative. This joke is much better in person.)
How do you feel about public speaking? - Nooooooo thank you. I took public speaking 2 times and didn't pass because of my anxiety. One teacher just started yelling at me in the middle of a speech because my voice was cracking and shaking. She was so cruel.
If someone were to make a movie about your life, who would you hope would play you? - Tina Fey. Even though she's old enough to be my mom. In my dreams, she is my mom.
Would you rather be hated or forgotten? - Forgotten. I don't like the idea of being hated by anyone.
If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn? - I can't do a cartwheel, so that would be cool.
What’s the best decision you ever made? - I don't think I've made it yet. Going to culinary school was a good one though. I know it's not necessarily paying off right now, but I made some great connections and greater friends. It was an incredible experience and I proved to myself that I can actually finish something that I start.
If you were a type of animal, what would you be and why? - A red panda. Look at 'em:
What are some things that make you really happy? - My dog, Monty. My boyfriend. Baking. College basketball (Go Saints!).
What are some things that make you really sad? - My extended family sucks and stole a lot of money from my grandparents. Now they treat my parents and I like we're the terrible people because we're trying to protect my grandmother from complete financial ruin. So, that makes me sad.
What are some things that scare you? - If I'm in a strange place, the dark still scares me. I have a weird phone phobia. Hate making phone calls. I'll answer the phone with pretty much no problem, but making a phone call can be crippling for me. Scary movies actually scare me.
Who are some people you’d like to meet someday? - The owners of the Baked bakery in NYC. Ideally we would eat cake and drink coffee while talking about cake and coffee. I'd like to have beers with Brand New. I'd like to meet my biological parents someday, too. There's no overwhelming need to meet them, I just want to say thanks for making a difficult decision and show them that I turned out pretty alright. I'd also like to know if I have any siblings.
If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say? - Oh that's hard. I feel like it would be something cliche that they've heard a million times. I'd pass on some advice my dad gave me when I entered the work force at 15, if it applied: Work when you're sick, call out when you're feeling good and want to enjoy a sunny day.
If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go? - Ireland, Scotland, Belgium. Booze & Chocolate!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? - A chef (semi-checked off, I did culinary school!) or a doctor.
What accomplishment are you most proud of? - Finishing culinary school. I have a problem with not finishing degrees, so to actually finish one was a big deal for me. It's a big motivation to go back to school.
What’s your favorite dessert? - Tiramisu or cheesecake. I can't choose. They are so delicious and rich and beautiful.
What are some of your major goals in life? - Be happy. It's a simple thing that I struggle with. Learn as much as possible. My boyfriend and I had a conversation the other day about education and how I'm probably never going to stop going to school. I'll stop looking to earn a degree, but I can definitely see myself just taking random classes the rest of my life. Whether it's cake decorating classes or physics.
What’s your favorite part about today so far? - I think the sun's out. The church across the street is hiding it right now, but it's nice to know it's out there and not just gray. It's still incredibly cold though (3 degrees right now).
What’s your earliest memory? - Siena games with my dad. We've been going since I was 4 years old. I pay attention considerably more now and get less enjoyment out of crawling in the bleachers and running up and down the section. Once I fell down the stairs of our section and managed to cut my eye.
What’s something most people don’t know about you? - When I was 14 I had some major spinal surgery. As a result, I have perfect posture forever.
What’s something you wish everyone knew about you? - I'm adopted and pretty proud of it.
What are some of your smaller goals in life? - Travel to Europe. Knit a sweater. Go to Coachella.
What song should be added to the playlist of corny 80s love songs I started last night to blast out our window to the couples that insist on yelling outside?
Answer: Something by Michael Bolton needs to be there.
What's your favorites by Michael Bolton? - The problem is that I can recognize his voice, but I don't know the name of any songs. I just know they're all cheesy love songs and one or two should be blasted out of my window to remind these fighting couples that they love each other.
Any (other) cheesy 80s love songs appear on your iPod? - The cheesiest thing on my iPod is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack. You know, the one with this gem on it:
I do enjoy some Journey from time to time. Blame my mom.
My dad started going to their games before I came along. He went with friends or just alone, it was his thing. Then he started taking me along to give my mom some alone time and it just became something I really looked forward to and enjoyed, especially once I started playing (and because I'm a total daddy's girl). Now we have beers and yell at the refs together.
And they're the closest/best Division I team we have in this area. 20 minutes away.
Which team do you want to win the college football national championship in 6 days? - I'm going to say Clemson. Are they in it? I feel like I saw on Facespace that they were. I don't know, I don't follow football in any capacity.
Which color do you like best - orange or maroon? - Orange.
If you had a choose one animal, would you pick an elephant or a tiger? - Elephant.
Would you rather a person be excited & charismatic or serious & stoic? - Excited and charismatic.
What's your opinion of Fireball, the liquor? You can also comment on your opinion of the candy. - I like it. Wouldn't turn down a shot if offered.
Which is scarier - a panda or a spider? - Spider. I don't have arachnaphobia or anything, but if you have 8 legs and sneak into my space (or bite me in my sleep), I'm gonna squeal and squish ya.
Is Ryan Adams the greatest musician of his time or one of the very best? - One of the very best. I'm not very familiar with him, to be honest. That 1989 cover album is pretty swell though.
Are you a hugger? Do you like receiving hugs? - Are there people that don't like hugs? I am not one of those people. I am an incredible awkward hugger.

You only got one answer wrong, but you answered everything else so well that I'm bumping your 88 grade up to an A! Great job, heyyitskait . You get a gold star!
House party or party at a club? - House party. I've been to one dance club, it was awful.
Festival or local club show? - This is a hard one. Festivals are fun, but exhausting. The clubs/venues around here are generally bad, but I enjoy the more intimate environment. Either one I can get drunk at, though festivals seem to be more accepting of my sometimes belligerent nature. I just realized why I like going to concerts at Ommegang so much, it's the best of both worlds.
Pancakes or waffles? - I've been on a real waffle kick lately.
Puking or diarrhea? - Puking.
Checkers or chess? - Checkers, I never learned how to play chess. I know the knight can only move in an L-shape.
Cats or dogs? - Dogs!
Meat or cheese? - Cheese. Delicious, delicious cheese.
What Olympic event would you most want to medal in? This is for both summer and winter. - Summer: Softball. Bring it back! Winter: Curling. That would truly be a miracle on ice because I am terrible at shufflepuck (but I love it!).
Do you have any bad habits? - I'm a procrastinator. It's really bad.
What's the best adventure you've ever been on? - This might be corny but whatever: This adventure through life with my boyfriend. It's a little bumpy sometimes but it's not an adventure if you don't get roughed up a little along the way. He pulls me out of my hamster ball and shows me life ain't so scary.
Also, the time I successfully navigated the NYC subway system at rush hour. I don't go down to the city very much, so the subway alone is an adventure for me.
Favorite hangover cure? - Chocolate milk, coffee, water, and a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich. Oh, copious amounts of corn if available.

Aww that's nice about your boyfriend adventure! Not corny.
But Jesus, the thought of milk during a hangover sounds awful. The rest of your cure sounds perfect though.

If you're all pukey/sour stomach hungover, definitely axe the chocolate milk. It's got all the benefits of gatorade plus some fats and other fun stuff your body needs and it's got a comfort factor for me.

Comfort food is for sure one of the most important strategies for treating a hangover.
I just wish all the food that is comforting wasn't so bad for me haha.
These are two out of 23 questions Chuck Klosterman (supposedly, but probably doesn't) asks everybody he meets in order to decide if he can really love them:
17. You are sitting in an empty bar (in a town you've never before visited), drinking Bacardi with a soft-spoken acquaintance you barely know. After an hour, a third individual walks into the tavern and sits by himself, and you ask your acquaintance who the new man is. "Be careful of that guy," you are told. "He is a man with a past." A few minutes later, a fourth person enters the bar; he also sits alone. You ask your acquaintance who this new individual is. "Be careful of that guy, too," he says. "He is a man with no past." Which of these two people do you trust less?
18. You have won a prize. The prize has two options, and you can choose either (but not both). The first option is a year in Europe with a monthly stipend of $2,000. The second option is ten minutes on the moon. Which option do you select?
Were these questions too much? If not, would you like to answer some more of Chuck's questions?

The second option is ten minutes on the moon. Which option do you select? - Europe. A trip to the moon sounds cool, but I doubt I would be able to handle the trip there and back unless I was knocked out cold. And it's only 10 minutes. I'd want a solid 30 minutes to really take it all in.
Were these questions too much? If not, would you like to answer some more of Chuck's questions? - I'd answer more.
