What's your most prized new possession (i.e. no family heirlooms)?
If you could eliminate one natural process or law of nature what would it be? Be specific.
If you had a friend who was born deaf but had a magic surgery to fully restore his/her hearing, what album would you play on the way home from the hospital?
Related question: If you had a friend who just moved here from a Soviet bloc country, what breakfast cereal would you serve them?
Wow, good questions.
- I'm a big fan of Van Gogh, but not of post-Impressionalism art in general. My parents were kind of out there in how they developed me any my brother's artistic sides, but they basically had books full of works of art in them and would just flip through them with us on their laps. For whatever reason I always went crazy (in a little baby way) when I saw Van Gogh's work. I know it might surprise some people, but manly man sports fanatic Flanzo actually does have a deep appreciation for fine art. - I have a signed Tom Seaver rookie card. It's a very, very rare print and I could sell it for a year's worth of college tuition at Fordham, supposedly. Unfortunately for collectors, Tom Terrific is staying with me, for now at least. - I know the easy answer is gravity, but I doubt a world without gravity is one we'd all want to live in. I think a world without tectonic plates/shifts would be pretty interesting. Not just how it would be presently, but how the history of mankind would have been shaped if there was no bodies of water separating people completely. Plus we'd all look the same, which would be funny. - Probably Revolver. Although the pressure put on me to pick the "best album for a deaf person recently given the ability to hear to listen to for their first music listening experience" album might send me into a mental hospital. - Frosted Flakes. Easy choice here.
Also, what's the most memorable bet or dare you were ever involved in?
Best one that I pulled off myself? I was dared to steal a pizza from inside an NYPD patrol car in Times Square, with a cop in the passenger seat (pizza was on the dashboard on the driver's side). I did it, fed a homeless guy and the NYPD's search for the culprit continues.
The Wilpons have sold the Mets to you. What is the very first thing you do as new owner?
This question can be opened up into a 10,000 word plan to fix the Mets, so I'll just say hire as manager Wally Backman to throw bats at umpires after bad calls.
I'd also nut-tap Jeff Wilpon after the sale was finalized for being a little dweeb.
-what is your favorite series of books? -do you ever read real books or just your kindle now? -what is the best beach you have ever been to? -have you ever been scuba diving? -you get a plane ticket for a trip around the world. you get 5 stops and you have to go in the same direction while traveling (ie always west or always east, destinations can be south or north of each other as long as they don't overlap). where do you go? -do you like staying in hotels? -how old were you when you first got a cell phone? -would you rather be able to read people's minds or have telekinesis? -ok, so no parachute pants. but i am sure your mom made you and your brother wear matching outfits sometimes right? -who is the superior james bond?

Who is winning the World Series, Superbowl, and Stanley Cup(should there be one)? Careful, I'm holding you to your answers, and just try not to be a complete homer.
So since you haven't named a successor: Who do you honestly think will win the division in Thunderdome? Who is the better Jets quarterback? How many games will the Jets win this season? What is your fav daytime trash tv show?

Mar 15 Jim James (Austin)
Apr 26 Jim James (Boston)
May 4 Clutch & The Sword (Portland ME)
Jun 8 DMB (Hartford)

Not to be a wanker, but I think going forward the cutoff for new questions should be the last day of the month the person has been assigned. (Especially when they're behind in answering the questions they already have )
Flanzo, might you tell us who the November BMotM is so we can start thinking of our questions for them?

I'm just waiting to hear back from them that they can do it this month.
And EAP didn't name me until like the 2nd or 3rd of Sept. so blame her for screwing up my timing.

- I don't really read fiction to be honest. I love history (sports, art, war especially), so I generally read about past events. I dunno, in my mind it makes me smarter to know what's happened before me and be able to possibly one day use something learned in a random battle in Mongolia and apply it to my present situation. Or that's what I tell myself to justify not going out on a Friday to read about Ghengis Khan. Anyway, favorite fictional series would have to be A Song of Ice & Fire, since it's the only one that I've read that didn't involve pictures or size-20 font kids books. - I still love books (real ones), so I rotate. My great aunt owns a book store in upstate NY and she mails boxes of books to my dad all the time. - Hm, that's tough. Probably in the Bahamas. We (relatives and I) rented a boat and took it out around the reefs and stuff, then came upon an uninhabited island and dropped anchor. I just remember that at one point you couldn't tell that there was water over the sand, even though it was like a foot and a half deep. No amount of words will do the place justice, so I'll just say it was quite enjoyable. - Yes. - NY -> Iceland -> Egypt -> Istanbul -> New Zealand -> Peru. For those keeping score at home that's me stopping at every continent besides Antarctica, which is actually something I want to do before I die. - Yeah. - Well, what constitutes a "cell phone." Prepaid minutes? My mom got me a Tracphone that had like 10 minutes worth of credit on it at all times, so I could call my mom to pick me up from places and such. I was 12 or 13 when I got that. - Read people's minds. Telekinesis is cool and all, but knowing what people were thinking would be much more of an advantage, especially if they don't know I can do it. - Yes, I'm convinced my mom spent the mid-80's devising ways to dress me that made me look like either a) a girl, b) a really fat girl, c) an elderly midget, or c) an elderly midget girl. And she dressed my brother in the same outfits just in different colors. I was always green, he was always blue. Once she bought us clothes (I was 4 and my brother 2) and his outfit was green and mine was blue, but we put on the color we wanted so I was walking around in a 2 year old's outfit when I was a 4 year old who was already the size of a 6 year old. Good times. - Muthaf*ck, how is this a question. I'm not answering this, this should be common knowledge.
Interesting, I never though BMotM was something to be considered. I guess I just assumed it was thrust upon you
It seems to be a little of both But if the person isn't a willing participant it makes for a very quiet month, so it is courteous to check (and also have backups).

- Grapes. When I first started getting into....corn.....I gained like 10 pounds in a week, which was borderline impossible since I played sports 7 days a week and housed thousands of calories like I was eating a ritz cracker or something. I realized very quickly it was a result of me gorging on munchies (specifically cheez-its, since my serving size ranged from "half a box" to "a full box plus part of the next box in the pantry." My mom actually caught it, but she told me to eat grapes (I didn't know it at the time, but she's a corn fanatic as well). Grapes are like 80% water, so it's like eating a little skinned water balloon or something, and they're delicious. Now when I get munchies I just eat some grapes. - A bar for my parent's basement. It came out great, I was actually pretty surprised. - Coffee, but only one cup a day. Construction people use coffee to talk about doing favors and such, so there are probably 5-10 "coffee breaks" every day. I drink my one when I get to work to jumpstart the engine, but other than that I just drink water. The super on my current job drinks upwards of 5 full cups a day (like a large at Dunkin Donuts). Gross. - The last fight I started was like 7 years ago, the last fight I finished was this past winter. Long story short, my female friend was arguing with her boyfriend (which they did every night they went out), I asked them to calm down we didn't want to be asked to leave, her boyfriend said something not nice, she told him to f*ck himself, he smacked her (backhand), I smacked him a lot harder (closed fist of fury). - Excluding projectiles (so we're going old-school hand-to-hand combat)? I've given this an irrational amount of thought in my life ("what would your weapon of choice be if you lived in 1350?"), and I've come to the conclusion I'd wreck house with duel one-handed swords, a two-handed battle axe, or a long spear. Assuming I can use a shield, I'd go long spear for the reach. - "I love you!" - "Wanna f*ck?" - Faith and Science; a class I took at Fordham, that basically talked about how it is possible to be a "scientific theologian." As someone who is very scientific-minded and also raised in a pretty religious household, I found the class very insightful. It was right in my ballpark as a person who grew up looking for the great being controlling everything, but who also questioned the existence of that being since it wasn't ever scientifically proven. Good stuff. - None. School was easy, memorizing stuff is effortless for me for the most part. A "C" was seen as a failure in my house, and I didn't fail by my parent's standards, either. In collge I came close, though. I had an A average in tests, reports, projects, etc. but I only attended the four classes I had to attend (due to tests) and my teacher figured out I went to class four times and gave me a "D". I spoke to her boss, the head of the department, and after a 30 minute talk he realized I knew my sh*t and gave me an "A". Fordham is where I learned my penchant for bullsh*t was going to be incredibly useful in life. - Eh, whatever makes my loved ones (assuming I have some) remember me warmly. I'll be dead, so as long as it doesn't say "Here lies Flanzo, he loved Mac Miller" I'll be cool.
