Our bars stay open to 6 AM so I have had a lot of experience pulling all nighters. I require nothing to stay awake in general due to insomnia. It will be the going to sleep part that will cause me trouble.
Where might one find these five-hour energy drinks? And are they disgusting?
At the register of almost any gas station. I've drank them a couple of time recently for 15 hour drives, all I know is they make my stomach feel funny. Haven't gotten sick, but a little queasy. I don't know if they even made me any less tired. They don't taste too bad, just like taking a shot, don't breathe.

I will not be pulling an all nighter at roo, and this is my first time so I have a question about this issue though Is there any way that to like train your body to be able to stay up all night with little sleep? Like before I go to roo should I start to stay up late and then set my alarm for a fair amount of time and try to get used to it?
Or while at roo should I find time to take a nap or something? how do people stay up so late! Please help me

First off, get a good amount of sleep leading up to the Farm. A lack of sleep beforehand will just slow you down. Secondly, many of the late-nighters find corn especially helpful in helping them rock out into the late hours. It's an endurance challenge, and should be approached as such.
I pulled an all nighter after Kanye last year and it made my Sunday HELL. I felt horrible all day long. I actually gave out and left after Plant and Krauss.

I've had the 5-hour drinks, I'm not a fan of the way they make me feel. Just...uneasy. Much prefer a sugar-free red bull buzz to the 5-hr energy drink buzz.
And then of course there's the double espersso vodka buzz. Champions only, please.

I think you should just stick with your normal sleeping schedule before Roo. I think a thing that helped me alot last year was going to bed as soon as the shows were done on Thursday, it was a smart decision because it helped me conserve energy for the rest of the weekend. I ended up pulling all nighters on Friday and Saturday, basically surviving off of 3 or 4 hours sleep a night. I did end up crashing on Sunday though, after Plant & Krauss I went back to my tent to sleep and didnt wake up until late the next morning. I wont be doing this this year because of Phish so I might have to think of a different strategy.
So take it easy Thursday is probably the most important thing you can do, make sure you get a good nights sleep Wednesday you dont want to be up for 24 hours straight or whatever coming into Bonnaroo, this will definitely lead to problems. Also early in the morning I recommend spending atleast an hour in the cinema tent if possible, sitting in air condition early in the morning can do wonders for you.
^I think you make a good point about crashing. It will probably happen at some point in the weekend, and if it does, just go with it. Fighting a crash will just result in more exhaustion. In 07 I went to Galactic and could barely stand I was so tired. I hated leaving my friends but going back to camp was a great decision, as I felt great the next morning.

Unfortunately, in the past, I have had seizures from sleep deprivation. When my body tells me it's time to sleep, I sleep. I haven't had one for about 7 years, so wish me luck.

I closed SCI down Friday night of 2007 and ended up crashing half way through FLips Saturday night.

i plan to see at least two bonnaroo sunrises this year. i managed to stay up until 7 AM last night out of pure excitement and anticipation. im a bit tired :/
sleep from 6-9 is good. then get up kicki it, head to music, find chill shows and grab a nap or two in the day. youll be juiced enough to hang til 6 the next morning .....at least thats my routine.

I generally don't find it hard to stay up late...as I am something of an insomniac anyways, and functioning on little sleep, especially at a place like Roo, is not hard. The thing that gets me is the HEAT, as has been said before. The movie tent tip was ingenious, i think I will try that out this year. Also, see some shows under the tents during the day, it will help a lot. Otherwise, stay well hydrated and well nourished...or at least well medicated, and you should have no problem making it through bonnaroo and seeing everything you want.
I think from weds. when i left for Roo, until Monday, I probably got a total of 10-12 hours of sleep. Bonnaroo is but once a year. You can sleep when youre dead.

I tried out a 5 hour energy shot last night to make sure it wouldn't make me sick and I hardly got any sleep. I'm gonna stock up. I was surprised that it didn't taste half bad, pretty sweet, but not terrible.
