"There are oppertunities in this situation. If I didn't know better, I'd say there is some repressed downist tendencies in the group."
This from a guy who thinks chiggers and swine flu are gonna destroy Bonnaroo? Also I am not being prejudiced when I call you an an alarmist. Anyone who starts a thread to worry about something that has less than .01% chance of happening, and then says things like
"I just hope there is a roo to go to"
Is being an alarmist at best, and a fear monger at worst. Sorry man that is just the way I see it, the media is doing no better right now in your defense still to draw the correlations you are trying to draw is crazy talk at this stage of the game.
Chiggers destroy Bonnaroo? Those must be some big-ass chiggers. The one's I'm familiar with run in terror from bug repellent. Bonnaroo saved! Some alarmist raised a question about copperheads, in Tennessee yet... That's getting close. And, I did see a skunk rummaging around the campground in early morning. Rabies epidemic!
Swine flu is a slightly bigger concern. Wait... Chiggers are almost microscopic, and viruses are much smaller than chiggers. Whats the worry? A virus trippin' up a world renowned music and arts festival? That's unimaginably topsy-turvy. Just turn up the volume, play 24 hours a day and blow those suckers back to Mexico.
Robyn Hitchcock has a word to say about viruses:

I am probably going to be a real debbie downer right now, but anyone thought about what this will mean for Rodrigo y Gabriela since they live in Mexico City? Last I looked they were back there working on a new album.

Ive been thinking that the entire time.
Sidenote- My wife called and told me that she has to go into an emergency meeting today about the swine flu. She said that it is all they are talking about up at DHEC. She also said that as of now its nothing and they just have to review strategy and protocols but that it has created the biggest stir up there she has seen. So it is something that is being taken seriously.

Good, health officials should be preparing for swine flu. That's their job, and if they're prepared, they can keep it from getting as bad here as it's gotten in Mexico. Until they tell us that we can do anything specific about this we have two choices:
1) freak out about it 2) carry on with our normal lives
As a side note, I'd bet R y G are taking precautions down there, and not going out much. Should give them plenty of time to work on that album.

I remember reading they lived in Dublin so I checked Wiki...
"The duo met in Mexico City while playing in a thrash metal band called "Tierra Acida". Growing frustrated with the limited scope of the domestic music scene, they pulled up roots and moved to Europe, where they have met considerable acclaim.
They took up residence in Dublin, Ireland, after hearing it was particularly welcoming to traveling musicians"
If you read they were down there recording, then I guess it doesn't matter where they live. Perhaps they moved back...I don't know but I would really be bummed. Last time they were scheduled to come here they had to cancel. I am ready to see them again!!!
