It's been a lot better in the Troo music lounge the last day or two. Good work mods.
It's unavoidable that we'll get new threads I guess. Either trolls coming here to push people's buttons or new members who aren't familiar yet with the place will pop up new threads. Once the lineup comes out it should die down a bit and the talk will be focused more on the acts Roo does have
^Well banning multiple accounts if you find them. PM Dirty Jerzee, wooz, or roofan, and let them know your suspicions. For what it is worth I kind of think you are right, and it is obnoxious if true. Also it is important to remember we have a lot of lurkers and some just can't take it when they see a rumor so they sign up and join in.

Today is going to be insanely busy around here. When the lineup drops, knuckleheads are going to be starting inane, pointless threads, and trolling like crazy: "Band X sucks so hard, etc."
Please do one of three things: 1) Lock down Inforoo membership for 24 hours or so, so that only current members can come in and post. It would keep clutter down, at least initially. 2) Be on your A games, and be vigilant. 3) Give me temporary mod status, for the next 24-48 hours.

Mods, I think we should rename the troo music lounge the "come here if you want to argue and insult each other lounge". I mean, that is basically all it is, especially as of late.
I am just saddened to see some beloved and well respected board members aging it on instead of spreading love and the true bonnaroo spirit on to others. *ahem*

It's like a joke how many times the same comments/questions are being posted. Why can't people just take the time to scroll a little bit, find the thread that is discussing something, READ WHAT'S ALREADY BEEN POSTED, and then give their comments?
Oh well. I feel like most of the negativity has died down. A lot of regular members aren't really present and it's full of new members who are creating threads asking questions that already have threads? (Like "who do you want added"). It's silly.

i dont think it will really dissipate for another few weeks - March?
it's a little frustrating reading the same crap, so while ive been browsing fairly regularly, i have been laying somewhat low since the announcement. im guessing im not the only one...

My method is as follows:
1. Stay away from troo music lounge as much as possible. 2. Keep my musical opinions to myself.
It is sad it has to be like that but if you say anything good or bad about ANY band people will lash out at you... I mean in the end we all love the same thing, right? But I think people tend to disregard forget that.

Just rename it the "Your favorite band sucks and so do you if you don't recognize that my favorite band is the only legitimate choice to headline Bonnaroo" thread. Or maybe not.

The people who come here and do nothing but spout all this negativity usually don't stick around. So it's sad that I can't have great discussion with a bunch of the people who usually discuss things all year round. There are some quality threads (Dave Rawlings Machine for one is all positive and helpful and good discussion.....no problems) but a lot of people just want to fight lol.
It's all about "INSERT-FESTIVAL-HERE's lineup is better than Roo's lineup". Why should there be any competition. The lineup is what it is. Let's discuss it lol.
This is one of the toughest times of the year since we have a lot of new people joining and posting. I thought there was an automatic PM that explained the rules of the board and what not. I will look into that.
When I registered I didn't get any message, don't know if I was supposed to or not.

Very sad but I do the same thing. I went in there the other day but felt like I had to totally censor myself and walk on eggshells. For the most part I just stay in the Other thread or the Arcade.

Well everyone being afraid and not posting isn't going to help change anything. How about we just get more regulars posting and if anyone starts being overly-insulting then the rest of the members just tell them in a calm manner something along the lines of "dude...chill. have a civil conversation/debate. not a hate-filled rant". come on guys. fight for the TML we know and love lol
I lurked the TML for about two years now. It was always the most interesting part of the board. I originally viewed the board for the survival guide. I didn't find anything that informative besides that. I skipped right over all the other rooms and went to the music one. I was a member with posts before I ever looked into any of the other places. Now I have found my way around pretty well and know there is more informative places than the TML. I am a pretty new member and basically an outsider so here is my opinion. The mods do a pretty good job on here. It's not there fault this thing is so big there is much more info than one person could take in. Let 'em work. Here are couple things that would make it easier to navigate for everyone. 1 Make Veiwing Sigs optional. If I could read posts without all these stupid big qucking sigs, it would make it much more enjoyable. This whole thread would be on one page.
2 If there is going to be 10 stickies on each page, make them collapsible, or make the amount of threads that show on each front page more so we could better view the board
3 I know it is important to have mods for each room, but the same names are on each one.
4 Some folks on this board get there emotional needs filled from this place. Some of them spend so much time on here it creeps me out. They are not mod material!
