And speaking of cooking, didnt we meet for just a moment at brunch this year? I think I traded you a magic cookie for a piece of this delicious ham-roll thing you had? Or was that someone else? If it was you, I want the recipe because that stuff was nomtastic...

aw thanks
i need a haircut right now, actually. it grows so fast! i can't decide if i want to grow it out and chop it off for locks of love again, or just keep it as is for a bit.

dani, i must be out of the loop. what happened w. the fiance?? sorry it didnt workj out you are lookin' great in those pics btw.
Roo - Yep, the fiance and I didn't work out, but it's cool. And thanks for the kind words, babe.
Knoxville, I'm ADORING Asheville like none other. I think I may have found my forever home here. I mean, I've got insane music, great food, better weather, scenery, great people and Biltmore... which, if all goes according to plan, I'll be the viticulturist up there come this Spring.
Thanks for the complements guys! I really appreciate it, and the guys in here are a slice of fried gold, too.
I've seen a few I wouldn't mind mingling with.
Higgi, I cannot do the Truffle Shuffle.
And Carpe, we did meet for a minute at the brunch. You gave me a cookie and directions to Shakedown and I gave you a ham roll. Those were indeed my contribution to the brunch fare, and I'll totally PM you the recipe. And I'm down for hanging out at Monolith if you want. I'll be out there by myself, I've never been to Red Rocks, and I'll need someone to dance with at Girl Talk and Passion Pit... if you're in to that kinda thing. And yes, college football rules my life in the fall. One of my fav things is to go out on Friday night, and then lounge around all day Saturday watching the games, nomming some wings and drinking beer.
I haven't been single for quite sometime, so watch out boys, Dani's on the prowl!

Ah hah! I knew you looked familiar! You had on a cowboy hat didn't you? God those ham rolls were so insanely good...esp. since I missed out on the biscuits and gravy. And how did your expedition to Shakedown go that day anyway?
If you're really going to Mono, we should TOTALLY meet up one night! Festies are SO much more fun with you have someone to dance with, and yes that is absolutely "my thing". The Phoenix --> Crystal Castles --> Girl Talk block Friday night this year at 'Roo absolutely melted my face. I got on the rail for Phoenix and didn't budge until 4:30 that morning...damn near danced myself to death! So yea, if a beautiful woman like you needs a dance buddy @ Red Rocks, I will totally volunteer! I missed PP at 'Roo, and would LOVE to see them. You picked some great shows to prowl!
Btw, I spent 7 years in Asheville, and I agree it is a fantastic city. It's got it's own unique personality that I've never really seen anywhere else. I miss it sometimes, and if I ever find a good enough reason I'll probably move back. I hope you have a blast up there! Oh and be sure to check out Barley's and Green Sage downtown and Westville Pub and Sunny Point Cafe if you make into west A-ville.
Oh and I'm more of a NFL guy myself, but any girl who will spend the weekend drinking, eating wings and watching ANY football earns MAJOR points in my book.
This is me in show going attire, so you know what I'll look like at Mono!
**EDIT**
HEY I just went back and read your info post again DaniRoo, and get this - I am going to see PP and Phoenix in Central Park too!!!! Are you going to the Friday or Saturday show?? I'll be on the rail for SURE Sat., night and I can't WAIT!!

Holy Shit! Are you seriously going to Central Park for the Passion Pit/Phoenix show?!?!? I'm going on Saturday, too! The ex bought me tickets for my birthday, but now, doesn't really want to go with me. So, yeah, I'm spending my birthday, alone, in NYC.
I will totally be on the rail for both PP shows! I was in the waaaaay back for them at Roo and will not make that mistake again.
Unfortunately, I missed Phoenix and GT at Roo, so I will want to be right down in the thick of things for both of those shows at Mono. I LOVE to dance, too, so I'd rather be in the middle of the sweaty masses, on the rail, than in the back. Hopefully, I'll make it on stage during GT. ;D
Haha, thanks for the directions to Shakedown, my venture went quite well.
That's awesome that you know Asheville so well, I may need some help finding some things. To tell you the truth, I had never spent any time here before deciding to move. I just kinda picked it, and now couldn't be happier.
I actually live in West Asheville! I live within walking distance of Westville and the Sunny Point! I love them both and I've also been to Barley's and Green Sage already. Yeah, so far, everywhere I've been I've loved, but anymore reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.
I love the NFL too, but I'm from Cincy... so yeah... Bengals... But I will happily take any excuse to drink and eat wings! Is there a good sports bar up here for that sort of thing?
Holy nuts! Are you seriously going to Central Park for the Passion Pit/Phoenix show?!?!? I'm going on Saturday, too! The ex bought me tickets for my birthday, but now, doesn't really want to go with me. So, yeah, I'm spending my birthday, alone, in NYC.

And that's a pretty cute pic of you, btw.
Aww, you like my Bonnaroo picture? That was from '07 right before Ben Harper - SUCH a great day! I don't look that different...still have the facial hair and I still have that DMB shirt. Glad you like it though! Maybe now you'll recognize me @ Mono!
OH and yes, I am TOTALLY going to the Sat. PP/Phoenix show in Central Park! I can't believe you are going to be there - how random is that?? And ALONE on your birthday?? That's just not acceptable. I'm actually going to be by myself too...sort of. I'm staying with some good friends, but they didnt get tickets and are going to be busy in the afternoon. Do you like art and museums and stuff? Because if you do I would LOVE to meet up and maybe go check out the MOMA or the Guggenheim...they're both really close to Central Park. Then we could keep each other company at the show? I dont know about PP but Phoenix is a band best enjoyed with a fellow music lover! Preferably a drop dead gorgeous one that loves to dance...and I think that describes you pretty well!
Good luck getting on stage for GT @ Mono btw...I will keep an eye out for you! He usually tries to get the really pretty girls up first, so I'm sure you'll have a nice spot. I have also heard through the grapevine that Greg has some really neat tricks he is planning to pull out for that show, so it should be pretty intense. Like I said, GT @ 'Roo was probably the best part I have ever been too, and I have no doubt somewhere like Red Rocks will be just as good. Where/when are you flying out there? I leave sometime early in the afternoon Friday on a Continental flight. SouthWest had some really cheap tickets, but I stalled on my decision to go and missed out on them
SO glad to hear you are enjoying Asheville! It's a great city and there is NOTHING quite like fall in the mountains. As far as anywhere else I would recc. going to eat or hang out...well lets see, I love Usual Suspects for drinking (Merrimon ave.) and they a 1/2 price wine night, Sky Bar is always fun (Grove Arcade) and there is this great newish wine bar called Sante which is also in the Arcade. All places worth checking out. Food-wise you gotta hit Tupelo Honey, Table, Jerusalem Garden, Bistro 1896 and the sushi place downtown with the red awning. Also don't miss the chocolate bar off of Lexington...but don't go alone, it's where all the cute/adorable/disgusting couples go to have dessert. (i'm kidding...sort of)
Alright, I gotta go...I need to pack for DENVER!! I am REALLY sad I am probably going to miss the first Panthers game of the season, but it is SOOOO going to be worth it!
Here's another 'Roo picture...
It's Bunny and me at Brunch!! I saw her ALL OVER the Farm!
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
Psssh, Hippie whatever...you are silly. Dani and I are just being friendly. She is WAY to attractive for me! But you DID make me think of this picture!

asheville is an amazing city, i drive down there whenever i need to get away. its about an hour from my house, but i am thinking about trying to go to grad school down there. and hippie, you should definitely rock the dreads. i just started mine a couple weeks ago, plan is to leave them in and have them great by june for the farm.

I'm packing right now! ;D My flight is out of Raleigh on Friday afternoon, so if you are out of Raleigh too... I'll either be at Chili's or the Bacardi Bar before boarding. I have to have a few Bloody's before my flights, and can always use a drinking partner... so I guess I'll be PM'ing you my number just in case you are leaving from RDU, too.
And as for GT... I still need someone to protect me from all the randos who try to dance all up on girls who are alone. So, I mean, if you aren't doing anything and wouldn't mind dancing with me... just to make sure I don't get molested or anything... it would be much appreciated. If you don't mind of course... I wouldn't want to keep you from anything you may have going on at that time.
Thanks for all the reccs in Asheville! I look forward to eating and drinking my way through town. It's a shame I'm here all by myself, it seems like there are a ton of cute/disgustingly cute couples here. Oh and I had a truffle from the French Broad Chocolate shop today... oh. my. god. It was Port and Fig. To die for... but yes, I did have to fight my way through the crowd of couples to get my chocolate fix. sigh...
And thanks for the offer of hanging out with me on my B-Day and all... but let's see how Mono goes first.
