I think Warren Haynes is a great guy and a great guitar player, but his music has never really done much for me (I plan on giving Gov't Mule a chance, though, if I can fit them in). So it doesn't really have any influence on me. Personally, I can't stand Coheed & Cambria

I will be at this show because I am almost certain Warren will be there. Xmas Jam was the first time I saw Coheed. I, like most of the crowd, was a bit uneasy at the begining of their set. By the time Warren came out and they sang I Shall Be Released and rocked Welcome Home most of the crowd was pleased with the preformance. We ended up getting the setlist from that set and gave it to this teenaged dude beside us who was belting out everysong.
I just dont get Coheed and Cambria. I should love this band. Spaced out rocking stuff, mind melting lyrics, awesome nerdy comic book tie ins. Im not joking when I say that I SHOULD dig these guys, but they just come off as a cheap knock off of The Mars Volta to me. Sort of how I view Coldplay as a watered down childish version of Radiohead. As far as Warren is concerned, I dont think theres any denying that the guy is a jam god. I love his playing and I love his voice but like many people have said... I dont find his music all that interesting or entertaining. He's much better playing WITH someone (ie The Dead, ABB).

the mars volta ripoff might be true, except they were around before mars volta. haha. but really, the 2 bands have nothing in common. odd singers, that's about it.

I would understand the volta knockoff... except Coheed came out about 5-6 years before the Mars Volta, Back when Cedric was singing in a completely different style in ATDI. I could say maybe a little similar to rush but more punk/metal, but Claudio claims to have not been a fan of rush.
Either way, Coheed and Volta are completely different in many spects, Coheed being progpunk/metal and volta being an eclectic gobbletygook of all genre's of music... hahaha Volta rocks Coheeds socks off in many areas, but they both put on awesome shows.
Speaking of Rush...they should be added ... Rush, followed by Coheed, followed by the Mars Volta... HAHA
I'm so excited for this show! Long time favorite band for me. They have been opening for too many lame, sub-par (Linkin Park, Slipknot) bands for me to justify seeing them. I'm so pumped for a headlining show at BONNAROO!
For all the haters and disbelievers out there check these videos out. Epic (over) ten minute dueling guitar solo starts at 2:20 in the first video. Coheed can JAM!
I have zero hate in my heart for Coheed & Cambria; they're just not my taste. I respect their skill and their talent, but it's kind of like Rush...I just don't really connect with the actual music.
I think they belong at Roo though. The negative feelings a lot of people have towards them have a lot more to do with the way they were marketed early on than what they actually do as a band.
I can agree with that. I can EASILY understand how someone who has only heard their early singles that pushed them onto MTV wouldn't like them. Hell, I'm a huge fan and I hate those songs.

I've seen them a few times...neither time I had an experience that would stand out in my mind (other than getting pulled to the ground and having about 10 people fall on top of me and push off of my face to get themselves up resulting in multiple bruises and a black eye).
Can't say that I was excited or upset about them being there. If there's nothing else I'll walk over and stand in the back. If they ditched the newer material and played straight older stuff I'd feel a little more inclined to watch.
Really depends on the schedule and who else is playing for me. Like someone else noted..they've been opening for leftover nu-metal bands..and their new stuff is awful.
But hell..have them play In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3 in its entirety and I'm there.
You think the new stuff is awful? Personally, I'm a die hard SSTB/IKSSE fan but there's some good songs on the last two albums. It's a real hit or miss for me.
I've heard their next album, the prequel of the story, is gonna go back to their roots. I hope it's true

well i did love second stage and in keeping secrets, honestly my favorite is Good Appollo Vol 1. i thought that album was amazing. now im not a fan of Good Appollo Vol. 2, but i wouldnt say its awful.
ive never seen them play anything live off of Vol 2, so i cant comment on how it is live, but anything from the first 3 albums is great live.
have u heard when the next album is comming out by chance? its great to hear they arent staying on the path of Vol 2.
here's one of the new songs, the intro is a little boring but its good after that. I think the new stuff sounds great live if you like the new album, they've been touring with a full time keyboard player, 2 female backup singers as well as a new drummer.

Sadly they are projecting for a first quarter 2010 release.

Ah, I was hoping for this fall. Their past two albums have been released in the fall. Oh well...
Phishinhojo...The break down of No World For Tommorow gives me chills every time I hear it! I'm excited to see that song live now. It's too bad Claudio needs those female back-ups to get those high notes hit live.
If its true that they'll be closing a tent on Sunday, that means they will most likely conflict with David Byrne. I was really planning on seeing them, but I think I'll have to skip them if they're up against a legend like David Byrne.

Holy shite batman!! I was looking forward to this show already big time, but seeing this jam has made it my number 1 show and easily settles the snoop conflict for me.
