Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
AND by the way...they are NOT ON TOUR THE SUMMER OF 09!! I have seen this posted a bunch of times....and people are quoting their 2008 summer tour dates with R.E.M. ??? I just want to clear this up for any other mouse fans that have a heart attack when they read the bad info...LIKE I DID!!! ;D
I know there are quite a few people who want it to happen, but a Modest Mouse add is really unlikely.
I get smited everytime I say this, but I'm just telling the truth. Their show at Bonnaroo in '05 was really bad. Typically when a band puts on that awful of a show at 'roo, they are not invited back for future years.
I'm not arguing that Modest Mouse sucks or anything; I'm just saying, when you put on a bad concert at a festival, they rarely want you to come back and try again.
I don't care if I get smited, they're just plain horrible live. I saw them at lolla 07, and I actually walked away from their set 20 minutes in. Walked over to My Morning Jacket which was 1000x better.
It's a shame, cause if it was anything like the quality it is on the record, it would be a amazing show. But it's just so boring.

Also, based on this info:
On tour, The Decemberists will present a full performance of the album.
The Hazards Of Love tells the tale of a woman named Margaret who is ravaged by a shape-shifting animal; her lover, William; a forest queen; and a cold-blooded, lascivious rake, who recounts with spine-tingling ease how he came “to be living so easy and free” in the aforementioned “The Rake’s Song.” Lavender Diamond’s Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden deliver the lead vocals for the female characters, while My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Robyn Hitchcock and The Spinanes’ Rebecca Gates appear in supporting roles.
Seeing as we already have Robyn Hitchcock, I'd say that the others are sure bets.
It won't likely be Black Keys, it will likely be Dan Auerbach solo (his album just released).
Also I think the likely acts are: Lisa Hannigan Margot & The Nuclear So-and-sos Hotel Lights Jennifer O'Connor Amy Ray solo (or Indigo Girls) Works Progress Administration (Benmont Tench, Glen Phillips, Nickel Creek)
and the big surprise: Jane's Addiction (yep, I think it's a possibility-- Perry showing the love and making a promise for Lolla and Roo to play nice; NIN and Jane's are rumored to be touring right up until Roo together; and it'd be a BIG surprise)
Just my guesses...
you know at first that was my first thought with Black Keys/Dan Auerbach. but once i looked into it hes doing a real short tour solo(all in march following their tour ending in feb). then they have coachella in april with a san fran date the next day. they are also rumored to be playin in columbus end of april, i find it weird they would just do 1 day at the end of april and that be it. im guessin that will be a part of additional dates in the late spring/summer hopefully with bonnaroo included

Well of course I would have to disagree. I have seen them live 3 times, once at rochester at the aresnal and holy crap they were amazing, then again in a small outside venue in Mass. And again they were completely INSANE!! Then at the Virgin Festival in 07, and Brock was even blitzed out of his mind, but it still blew me away. Maybe I am just biased because i am absolutely obsessed with them, but I have always considered them one of the best live shows I have seen!
But i would like to add that when it was posted that they blew in 05 I read some of the blogs and reviews of that shows, and it seems like plenty of people disagree that they were horrible, in fact most said they were surprised that a "non-Roo" type band drew such a large crowd and did so well...i don't know I wasn't there to see it, but i would tend to agree with those folks about their live shows!!

I don't know man. Maybe they're just not as good at festies? I'm definitely gonna give them another shot, cause I love them so much, I just hope they've gotten better.

wasn't there a rumor that Pavement might re-unite this year in honor of Matador's 20th anniversary? that'd be sick if they did a whole tour or 'roo and a few fests.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

That would be awesome if we got a reunited pavement instead of Coachella.

I would love to see Sonic Youth added but I'm guessing they'll be up for Lolla this year... most of the added bands will probably be 2nd/3rd tier although I'll still keep my fingers crossed for The Dead and/or Flaming Lips.
Surprised to hear the Modest Mouse disappointment out there... I've seen them 3 times and each show was better yet. They weren't festie shows though so maybe they don't sound as good in front of huge crowds.
White Denim - 8/13-14 Power of the Riff - 9/1-2 Bruce Springsteen - 9/19 & 9/21 Gonjasufi - 9/24 Jay Z - 10/4 Animal Collective - 10/5 Swans - 10/10 GWAR - 10/16 New Order - 10/18 Squarepusher - 11/1 Bassnectar - 11/18 Neil Young & Crazy Horse - 11/27 Bonnaroo 2013 - ???

Karma for the Hotel Lights mention. Not to rip on Folds, but I think Darren Jessee is much better

As for Modest Mouse, I think they are pretty hit or miss live. I saw them several years ago, and they killed it. Fantastic show. Saw them fall of '07 and they were absolutely terrible....so bad I saw something else during their Sasquatch appearance last year. A guy I went with who is a big fan said they stunk it up there also and he was very disappointed.

I won't smite you. but thats the thing for MM though, as well as UC im sure... It has to be difficult to put on a terrific show with the way Brock sings, his voice has to be completely thrashed at the end of their tours...
It really is a matter of opinion i suppose, and they would be pretty much the only way i would find myself fighting to get back on the farm...
I have a friend who's usually pretty reliable on these things (he does booking for a major New England rock & roll club). He claims that starting this spring, Raekwon & Ghostface will be touring with a live band to coincide with the supposed April 7th release of "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2". In any case, he's telling me that they'll be at Bonnaroo this summer. He's been right on this stuff before - he doesn't have a ton of inside info, but he does come across some nuggets. I'm not getting my hopes up, but there it is.
