I think the timing of the festival makes it difficult because of how much more most major electronic acts can make in Europe vs. playing at Bonnaroo. Coachella has the advantage of taking place during the season that electronic acts are playing festivals in America.
true. coachella occurs just a few weeks after the winter music conference.
and of course you got that isle of wight festival in europe the same weekend as bonnaroo that already has prodigy, basement jaxx, and pendulum. although apparently the ting tings are gonna be able to play both fests. props to their ambition.

Given the amount of electronic/dance acts that (aren't) on the lineup, who could be added?
ooooo so many, but bonnaroo doesnt seem to have much love for the electronic/dance/house music. i'm so jealous of crookers, bloody beetroots and switch at coachella. maybe a little ..... fake blood/the black ghosts, boys noize, simian mobile disco, count and sinden?
although i think this is a futile exercise....
more realistically? LCD soundsystem, does it offend you, yeah?, ratatat....
i think that lcd would be a perfect addition... i mean i dream of daft punk playing at bonnaroo, but i mean come on doesn't everyone lol......... that will be a good day when daft punk plays... until then i would settle for daft punk is playing at my house lol.

haha 1up ... nice one.
I never really thought of the timing thing but you are totally right. With WMC in March, all the big electronic acts are planning to be in NA around that time anyways. But I still think roo should be able to snag a couple sweet DJs .... they dont have to be big names to put on an amazing late night show.
By the way, i'm about 85% sure i'm hitting up WMC/Ultra fest this year .... anyone else??

If I were to wager I would bet Cut/Copy add. With the "rumored" lineup being fairly close to the real one I could see some of those acts being in the add.
I've given up on the electro line up for this year... last year Ghostland was the only electronic act I was half interested in, this year Girl Talk, but I doubt we're gonna get anything top notch.
STS9, Deadmau5,Infected Mushroom, won't happen but I'd love to see Paul Van Dyk there, and mutha quackin SPHONGLE, or even just Hallucinogen,Ghostland, MSTRKRFT, any of the above
I guess since the lineup already looks to be filled with loads of potential late nite conflicts, it will make it easier on me to have less of a debacle trying to decide who to see. I'd like to have M83 and the Crystal Method added in though
i'm just hoping theres some good dance bands, i'm not really deep into that scene but i wanna see chromeo again, i'd love to see mstrkrft since i haven't had a chance yet and god willing, even though its a typical choice, justice would be fun, and maybe even does it offend you, yeah? i'm really glad crystal castles are on the initial lineup though. please more dance acts!
Ya I dont know why they have to go so extreme with the trance music. paul oakenfold? tiesto? i mean its great, but its alot less accessible for people who arent super into electronic music and just want to dance around to something. i think they are trying to fill the electronic gap in the lineup with big names instead of people who have a better chance of interacting well with the crowd.
I may be wrong, but weren't most of the late night electronic acts added in one addition last year? Or am I completely making that up?
looking back at the initial lineup - tiesto, mstrkrft, and chromeo weren't on it. so i think we can definitely look forward to some adds. although oakenfold is the one really big dance act of the festival, unless superfly really surprises us.

i wouldn't mind hearing some dnb i think to much trance w/ tiesto last year and now oakenfold. How about some planet of the drums......i can hear drowning now
Any or all of the following bands would put me over the edge for going to roo: SPHONGLE (specil late night set ala Dr.Jons set a few years ago), Groove Armada, Future Rock, and pendulum.

listening to oakenfold now, it's not bad. Especially if one were intoxicated. I think it may even be more accessible than some of these bands we're hoping are added. With the blatant build up-release.
