How could I possibly have ever conceived of the idea that there could be a music festival where the music is more important, even to the promoters, than the biggest possible bottom line? Why, that's just insane.
i know... i wish there was a fest. i dont know.. maybe at a beautiful location in west virginia, that even though they could move to another site and have twice as many people and make much more money they keep it the way it is because they love their site. they love their attendees. and they love their music. when you got there you would be asked if you had anything bad with you. you say no and thats that, have a good time. shakedown is actually shake down. glass, reasonably priced hand made goods, not just overpriced mass produced junk. you could actually get what ever party favors you need right on shakedown. no worries about cops jumping out at ya. you get your bag checked on the way to the stage, not the pat down and pocket serach b.s. the shows are ragin, glowsticks flying everywhere... damn if only some such place existed. then life would be all good.
Clearly, you must have just made up this place because no such place could possibly ever exist.
well for both of you...i can and do go to many many other fests. and i talk alot about them with friends who also go to them. but this is inforoo so im talking roo. i dont come around here much. only when something is worth talking about. ill be gone tomorrow until they add gwen stefani in round 1
You have friends?
your mom.... wow i can act like i was born in 88 too

say what you want about the atmosphere......but every year I go there's plenty of awesome, caring & sharing people. there's also a lot of good vibes and a lot of leniency on issues of the law. no security tower will change the feeling people have when enjoying music and art and relaxing for four days of awesomeness
I can definitely agree that the atmosphere has suffered greatly since my first year, 05', but the music can't be beat for me, so until it can, i will keep going. Now that i'm back in Ohio i can hit up the NLQP fests for chill fests with good vibes.
glad to hear your back in ohio man! i look forward to seeing ya at the ledges!
although shhhh!!!! i didnt even make my annual ledges thread on inforoo this year.
Its about the only good part of being back, but I will definitely be there as much as i can this summer since i will be in school and strapped for cash, ruling out all good. If i get in a few nelson ledges weekends i can live with missing all good though.
oh... is this where Ekoostic Hookah play every year?
No, thats been frontier ranch and legend valley, but this year Hookahville is moving to NLQP i guess.
actually hookahville is still at legend valley. but hookah does put on three fests a year at the ledges. blossom blast in april, summer hookah in july, and gory at the quarry for halloween.
Eeeeek! That site hurts my eyes. They should really spend a couple bucks on a web designer, that venue looks like it deserves better.
nope that little handmade with love by the owner website is just what the ledges deserves. and id ignore it anyhow. it hurt your eyes... its not for you.

2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
But c'mon man..how many of the bands on this years lineup have you heard before it came out? I only recognize maybe 15 bands.
Wow I recognize more of the lineup than Mulchies. How did that happen?
Even I know over 30 of these bands pretty well and I can guarantee you I am probably one of the lesser "in the know" inforoosters. I was pretty impressed with myself when I looked at the lineup and didn't say "huh?" to most of them.

I am pretty unfamiliar with the last part of the lineup. Any one want to suggest some to start with from the bottom half. It starts getting a bit hazy for me around Femi Kuti who I have never heard of. Guess I'll start there since you just mentioned it.
