John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Holy crap that lineup is amazing. If this is true then Roo really hit this one out of the ballpark. All they had to do was put Phish on the lineup and they basically give themselves a sell out but if this is true then they really went the full way and made the lineup amazing from top to bottom, kudos to them.
Oh and I remember last year the lineup came out I only know about 50-60% of the lineup when it was announced and if that line up is true then I know about 90-95% which is insane. Anyways Im keeping my fingers crossed this is true, but I cant imagine all the crazy conflicts this line up would present!

Here are the bands I'd like to see of the ones mentioned:
Phish Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Nine Inch Nails Beastie Boys The Allman Brothers Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 The Mars Volta Modest Mouse Medeski, Martin, Scofield, and Wood The Black Keys Michael Franti and Spearhead Moe. Booker T. feat. Drive-By Truckers Umphrey’s Mcgee The Hold Steady Old Crow Medicine Show Coheed and Cambria
I cant believe anyone would be dissapointed with this lineup, its quite possibly the best top to bottom line up ive ever seen which makes me kind of skeptical that its legit but im hoping and i believe the OP.
I also saw that there wasnt much hip hop which doesnt bother me but I know alot of people dig hip hop so I know there has to be some more on there, although im sure this isnt the full line up.
Just for fun the bands Id want to see from that line up.
Phish Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Nine Inch Nails Beastie Boys Leonard Cohen The Allman Brothers Thievery Corporation David Byrne The Mars Volta Modest Mouse TV on the Radio The Black Keys Michael Franti and Spearhead Bela Fleck and the Africa Project Erykah Badu STS9 Animal Collective Girl Talk Al Green The Hold Steady Ghostland Observatory Infected Mushroom Atmosphere Coheed and Cambria Santogold M. Ward Holy quack Cut Copy Okkervil River Deadmau5 Fleet Foxes Jenny Lewis Crystal Castles No Age Portugal. The Man De Nova Dahl
Holy crap, thats 35 bands by my count! The conflicts would be insane!

I did hear some rumors about Leonard Cohen. Don't know where it came from, but someone mentioned him for the clue that we thought was a connection to Jack Kerouac - just because they'd heard him rumored somewhere else.

^Yeah I don't post much. I guess you could call it an 'inside source' but I didn't speculate. I received that e-mail, copied it, and pasted it here. Most of my past posts are just random thoughts on different bands and stuff. I don't do the clue stuff too much, though it is interesting. I apologize if my record doesn't hold up - just passing on the information that I received from someone who I feel has the right credibility. But we shall see what happens tuesday.
Ok I am actually going to give this a little more cred. then I usually do because
A) Mello is making a real effort to defend his source, and not just posting and bailing. That makes me think HE at least really believes it to be legit, and didnt just grab it off a Wiki page somewhere.
B) 48 hours more or less before the official announcement is prime-time for leaks. If I remember correctly someone had one last year that was 90% right about two days before, and they got laughed at too.
C) I have fully expected 'Roo to bring their "A" game after so many people were disappointed last year. (I wasn't one of them...but that's a diff thread)
D) The balance is good.
If it ends up being poo, I'm still not going to be crushed...but something tells me that this is at least mostly legit.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
This. I would be more excited for NINs set then anyones. Espeacilly since this will be their last tour for awhile and what better place to see them then at Bonnaroo.

I love lurking! haha.
i didn't mean that you were speculating today. i meant in the past (per your posts)...

thank you for sharing... i'm hopeful.

I just listened to some Leonard Cohen and David Byrne for the first time - I'm feeling sleepy
I KNOW you're joking. If David Byrne makes you sleep you must not have any ears. Nor intellect. Nor taste. That's right, I judged.
Ya I was messing around, but to be honest he didn't grab me at first listen. Sure I like some older fellas like the rest of them (ie BB King was great last year!), but it always takes a few listens to really determine if you like a band/musician.
Anyways I was just poking at the fact that the top of the line-up had some older, more mellow acts : )

yeah, i think leonard cohen is one of the bigger red flags here. it'd be super awesome if superfly got him, but i think he's supposed to be one of coachella's huge scores (indeed it's their biggest, after mccartney). i'd love to be wrong.

carpedm01, A and B are very good points. D - for me the balance just seems too good to be true. If I believe and it's wrong Tuesday is gonna be a sad, sad day.

Thats enough for me! If all of those we're present, I could probably go to the farm right now and camp outside til they opened the gates!
