So my guess is he will be mainstage pre headliner to Phish. Seems very fitting to have him right before phish's headliner show so all the phish heads who are waiting all day close get to enjoy some Byrne.

im a new talking heads fiend but do not know much about david byrne's solo career. what are the chances he plays talking heads songs like psycho killer, once in a lifetime, naive melody, etc.
in addition, should i don the 'big suit' for his set?
It's been a while since I've done the upload thing, let me know if I screwed it up (or if I'm supposed to post this elsewhere).
This was right after Grown Backwards was released, so he had the Tosca Strings and the setlist was heavy on Grown Backwards stuff and stuff strings work for.
Setlist: Intro Road to Nowhere The Great Intoxication Finite=Allright The Other Side of this Life I Zimbra And She Was Once In a Lifetime Un Di Felice, Eterea Ausencia Tiny Apocolypse Psycho Killer UB Jesus Like Humans Do Dialog Box What A Day That Was Blind Desconocido Soy Life During Wartime This Must Be the Place

on byrne's latest tour, he's been mostly playing talking heads songs from the albums brian eno produced, in particular, 'fear of music' and 'remain in light'.
according to recent setlists, the following songs are strong possibilities:
- "take me to the river", "i zimbra", "heaven", "life during wartime", "crosseyed and painless", "houses in motion", "the great curve", "once in a lifetime", "burning down the house"
god if i hear even half those songs, i will flip my lid.

Holy jumpin' Jesus. If he plays that type of show at Bonnaroo, I will be so damn happy. That's so awesome he plays alot from Remain in Light. Thats my fav Talking Heads album.
Oh and here's one from Nov. '08 very similar. This is the Songs of Eno and Byrne Tour. Yes I hope we get this too, I don't see why not if he is still doing the same tour come 'roo time.

I noticed this thread and it says Eno is at Roo too....most likely this person doesn't know what they are talking about, but can't say that I would complain!

Unfortunately you are right. Eno is definitely not touring with Byrne, and at the moment there is no reason to expect him to show up at Roo.
I've seen him twice in the last year and the sets were fantastic. Last year was my first 'Roo, but I noticed something special and magical with all the performances by artists I'd seen before. I'm sure that'll be the case with David Byrne this year.
I absolutely love, love, love Talking Heads, but I don't know any solo Byrne....I still plan on seeing the show, but is there any of his stuff I should listen to before I go? I'm sure I will enjoy myself regardless, but I always like to have an idea of what I might hear. I'm so freakin pumped for Bonnaroo, it's my first and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a fan of Look Into the Eyeball for solo stuff. I still prefer the TH era tunes but Byrne is Byrne and the '04 set was superb.
I'll be there for this set. My ideal would be Byrne>Beasties>Phish on the Main Stage Friday night. That's an awful lot of total awesomeness I could enjoy without moving a foot!

If you wanna be familiar with most of the non-TH songs that he'll play you should check out his most recent record with Brian Eno Everything That Happens Happens Today. Some really great tunes on that album. Uh-Oh, Rei Momo, and Look Into the Eyeball are some of my other favorites from his solo career.
