Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
expect to see david byrne there this year. no eno, though. the tour for this record is sick... but there is no eno. byrne is coming back to for more US dates in June and bonnaroo is very close to being locked up.
do you have a source for this, or is it pure speculation?
Yay, this would make me very happy! I'll wait for the official lineup, though, as I seem to remember a couple of artist profiles being updated last year and those artists didn't play. But let's hope that's not the case here!

Seems like David Byrne will fill the kind of slot that Willie Nelson filled last year. Older musician with a lot of respect. I gotta get into his tunes now (assuming he's going)

Stop Making Sense - The talking heads (live) album is just WOW. Unless you were specifically referring to his solo stuff. If you haven't gotten into the Talking Heads (and this goes for all of you) get STOP MAKING SENSE!!!

I'm guessing with a much larger audience, though. His set at ACL was one of my favorites, and his show in DC at the Warner was great. I'm one of the lucky ones who actually saw the Talking Heads perform...Byrne on the farm would make me quite happy.

How about they perform the Speaking in Tongues album....I mean, WOW! Burning down the house, making flippy floppy, girlfriend is better, swamp, this is the place, and the ones in between are beautiful fillers imo....bring him on!!!! I want the dude at the farm.
I see the clouds that move across the sky I see the wind that moves the clouds away It moves the clouds over by the building I pick the building that I want to live in
I smell the pine trees and the peaches in the woods I see the pinecones that fall by the highway That's the highway that goes to the building I pick the building that I want to live in
It's over there, it's over there My building has every convenience It's gonna make life easy for me It's gonna be easy to get things done I will relax alone with my loved ones
Loved ones, loved ones visit the building take the highway, park and come up and see me I'll be working, working but if you come visit I'll put down what I'm doing, my friends are important
Don't you worry 'bout me I wouldn't worry about me

honestly this is a bad comparison
i like Willie but you really cant compare him to David Byrne or Talking Heads, and im not just talking about in terms of difference in musical style
To be blunt, Willie is a country bumpkin stoner strumming a guitar compared to the musical genius that is David Byrne.

Massive fail.
I love David Byrne. He's a talented fellow with great lyrics and clever ideas. But Willie owns him musically. It's not even close. If you think what Willie is doing is strumming, you need to brush up on guitar 101. The dude owns the guitar.

I LOVE WILLIE NELSON but he is NO DAVID BYRNE!!!!!
Willie plays Willie songs and old timey songs such as Amazin Grace...
David Byrne CREATES new music as well as play the music he's most famous for:
THE TALKING HEADS!!!!
Can we please....pretty please....with cherry on top have them reuniting just for Bonnaroo?
His new record with Brian Eno is damn good, "Everything That Happens Happens Today." Earlier records I'd suggest from Byrne's solo streak are "Rei Momo," and "Look Into the Eyeball." "Grown Backwards" ain't half-bad either.

^ Agreed (although, not to be picky, but it's actually "Everything that Happens Will Happen Today") -- also, if you're looking for what he's likely to be playing, Everything that Happens is definitely the way to start because he's not playing much of his solo stuff on the current tour. He's mainly only playing things that he collaberated with Brian Eno on, so, of his solo stuff, that's just Everything that Happens and My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (at the Atlanta show, he played a lot of the songs on Everything that Happens. I think he only played two off of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts). (Of the TH stuff, he worked with Eno on Remain in Light, More Songs About Buildings and Food, and Fear of Music).
And more agreement on the other three. Those are all great!
And as far as the David Byrne/Willie Nelson comparison, I'm with Becca. It just doesn't work.
And I think it's blasphemous to describe Willie as a country bumpkin stoner strumming a guitar.
