I love em all like children. I couldn't bare to choose.
I sort of agree it is a very difficult choice. For me it is between 2001:A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove. But I will go with A) 2001 because I watched it most recently and it still blows my mind.

I have to go with 2001. The first time I ever saw it was a restored print at Roger Ebert's film festival back about a decade ago. It brought me to tears it was so amazing. Then we got an Q&A session with Arthur C Clarke. That was RAD.
But I also really love The Shining like no other. I know it has its flaws compared to his other films, but its my favorite horror movie ever, and of the best horror films ever made. One of the few times the film was way better than the book IMO.

I'm gonna go with Clockwork, but for sentimental reasons more than any real I-know-my-shiz-about-movies reason.
^^Speaking of Daniel Day Lewis, I can't wait for "Lincoln" to come out. Abraham Lincoln biopic directed by Steven Spielberg. The cast looks great and Daniel Day Lewis never disappoints. One of my favorite actors ever.

Watch it in HD full screen. I was wary after the first viewing just because I didn't know if them putting Outro by M83 in the trailer was influencing me, but after the second viewing, I am all in.
I was at Target the other day and was browsing through the magazines. Joseph Gordon-Leavitt was on the cover of GQ. The tagline for the article? Boy Wonder. What a bunch of d*cks.

saw a couple worth mentioning this past weekend on Netflix, I Saw The Devil and The Way. Two completely different films, both quality and worth a look.

Both are in my queue. I just never get around to watching the stuff in my queue. I always get distracted by other things. Speaking of which, I watched Death Race 2000 the other day. I hadn't seen it since it came on TBS when I was like 14. It was interesting to watch as a film history kind of thing since it was infused with so much social commentary on violence and such. Also, some of the violence in the movie was very cartoonish. That being said, it has one of the most nonsensical endings ever.

I have the same problem but on Sunday night I thought let's knock a couple off of the queue. With I Saw The Devil, prepare yourself for some major brutality!
Anyone catch Moonrise Kingdom? What'dya think?? Like any Wes Anderson flick, it was quirky, fun & memorable; full of great actor cameos and beautiful ideas. But it was also uneven, unbelievable and, at times, pretentious.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Asian cinema.
The Master had a surprise sneak peak showing in Santa Monica following a screening of The Shining. Here are some tweets from the audience members.
Michael Gallagher @totallysketch Just saw “The Master“. A movie has never made me feel quite like this one did. I can’t describe it or even rate it. I am speechless.
@michaelwhittle Possibly the best film watching experience I’ve ever had.#THEMASTER70MM
Here are some other comments from audience members who posted on Jeff Wells writeup on Hollywood Elsewhere.
“Phoenix WILL win Best Actor unless Daniel Day Lewis blows us away with [his]Lincoln performance. This is Raging Bull territory for him. Believe it or not, his performance is stranger than that fake doc he made. The only way I can describe him is ‘animalistic.’ (I think the Master title refers to more of a dog and his master. At least that was the vibe I got).
“The style feels like Terrence Malick by way of There Will Be Blood. Wish you could have been there!”
“Yes, I was there. Paul Thomas Anderson was there with his wife Maya Rudolph. I saw him lingering in the back before The Shining started. But I just assumed he was there for the film. So before The Shining, they announced that there would be a mystery 70mm movie projected as a second feature.
“Once The Shining was over (the newly created DCP looked incredible) they told us it was The Master. We then had to wait outside for about a half-hour and then were let back in. No opening titles other than production logos and The Master. No end titles. Not sure of the exact running time, but it was close to 2 hours and 30 minutes.”
Not sure why Anderson and Weinstein chose The Shining. Here's a cool side by side though.

I just finished watching Champion. It was really good. It's mainly just Danny Trejo talking about his life. I usually don't enjoy documentaries that are just one person talking, but this was an exception. He's a pretty fascinating guy.
