Just reading through this thread, it's pretty clear Phish fans are going to find ways to interpret every clue as a Phish confirmation once Radio Bonnaroo gets rolling...
While that may be true, the clue is also half the name of a phish song. I dont think that's what its referencing, but it's as reasonable as any other guess people have had.
I don't think this is a Phish reference. Allow me to explain. The way he phrased it - "but someone who is AC/DC isn't in Europe." AC/DC is used as an adjective here... and I know that the clues last year didn't necessarily make sense, but in line with the rules of semantics, it'd make sense that AC/DC, in this case, is slang for bisexual, and not just name-dropping a Phish song, that just wouldn't make sense. As someone previously referenced that Beck song about "someone who swings both ways - AC/DC." That leaves the field open for not only bisexual artists, but for any other sorts of slang that AC/DC might stand for. There's my two cents.

EDIT: Yeah. What he said. ^^^^^
David Bowie?
Yeahhhh that's what I'm saying! Bowie is very bisexual. And, as someone has pointed out, his stint in "The Prestige" as Nikolai Tesla make AC/DC apply doubly towards him.
I remember reading through the clues last year and only being able to get a few of them. Im glad you guys are around to answer these clues because I would never get these on my own, I dont know how you guys do it in most cases. Like the clues we have so far I wouldn't even know where to start with those. So my only contribution to this thread is to wish you guys luck, hopefully this thread is as fun to read thru as it was last year.

I don't really have anything, I just wanted to make an appearance in this thread.
Although, I highly doubt the AC/DC thing is a bisexual reference - it just seems unlikely they would have a clue that dealt with a performer's sexual orientation.
also another with the David Bowie. the clue said that he wont be in Europe. Bowie is from Europe but he will not be in Europe if he is in bonnaroo.
While I obviously would love for this clue to mean David Bowie I really doubt that he would play Bonnaroo, I would say that he would be much more likely to play Coachella before he played Bonnaroo.
Also does anyone know of any bands that have an electrical meaning behind their name since that is what AC/DC stands for (I think).

yeah now that i think about if i was bisexual and that clue was about me i'd kinda be offended.

Bothering me as well but how else do you interpret someone who is AC/DC?
I like the bowie thing that was my first guess on the clue.

the first clue is obviously dj jd saying that he's got the dirt on who's playing the festival this year
the second clue about the ac/dc thing, i think is phish, it could also be bruce springsteen, but i think its about phish's ac/dc bag, it could be the boss because brendan o'brien the producer of the boss's last few albums also produced the upcoming ac/dc album, i think i read that the boss will be doing the walmart thing with his upcoming album
i don't know if this could have something to do with this clue. but coldplay has been on my mind this year. they are touring and they will not be in europe in june. in fact there are no dates for june. i think it would be a great show.

You have Animal Collective as AC... not sure where the DC could come from.
This is what I was thinking. The DC could be where they are from (sort of) ... Or alluding to Merriweather Post Pavilion (The name of the new album ... Near DC)

Coldplay = AC/DC I get it now?
i said i didn't know if it related to this clue. i'm just saying i hope one of the clues leads to coldplay. i'm just throwing it out there.
ac/dc was formed by malcom and angus young. the clue says who is ac/dc and isn't in europe. so maybe it could be someone with the last name young. like neil young. and he has a new album and he hasn't toured in europe so far.
