Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Go out and get the Island Tour from April, 98. 4/2, 4/3, 4/4, 4/5 are all near-perfect. Easily the best 4-show run they ever did.
That said - Summer/Fall 97 is damn near flawless, as is most of 1995. 1996 has its moments, whereas most of 98 and 99 seem uninspired (though there are gems out there - I think the Oswego shows from Summer 99 are as good as anything gets, along with certain choice Fall 99 shows such as Hampton, Hartford, Philly). Anything earlier than 1994 I'm less familiar with, but the band sounds very much different now than they did back then.
For more recent stuff, I'd stay away from most post-hiatus shows (anything 2003-2004), though the first reunion show (NYE 2002) is pretty solid. [/quote]
I'm sorry....but Phish-heads crack me up.really. Same with there heritage.
Hilarious hearing em' debate wether that '85 2nd night show in soldier fields was or was not better than whatever dome '93.
no offense...honestly...we all love music.
I guess it's just the hilarious level of musical nit-picking that goes on that cracks me up!
Can I get a f'n hell yeah for the Lunar stage? Sharam? Crystal Method?Kaskade? Timo Maas? Superfly just hit it outta tha' park for me....just too bad some didn't know sooner. so happy.
dont take offense...really....i just think it's like me debating wether or not the Beasties really came into their own before Pauls'Boutique. And how...while Paul Revere was groundbreaking at the time....it was not nearly as 'real' as say....High Plains Drifter. Especially not in the live central Park show of '92. You just had to be there!!!

I've always preferred '94-'95 (10/31/94 is a great show although I don't re-listen to the White Album part much) and '97 for the funk flavor (12-7-97 is a definite classic).
There are great and different shows from every song and period though. I agree that from '98-'04 things gradually got a bit unfocused and less tight, but sometimes that paid off. For example check out 9/14/00 SPAC (Suzy->jam, Drowned->jam) or 6/19/04 Saratoga Springs (Piper).

Um...what? Why wouldn't you compare various periods of a band's development? I think those would be valid debates to have about the Beastie Boys. I mean, hell...isn't that why we listen to music?
Not the main reason I listen to music. At its best music makes me feel, conveys meaning in a way other things can't, and in the most intense moments all of the ranking and judging and comparing and and debating and setlists and playlists and collecting falls away. That said I love all of that stuff personally. I also understand how it could seem quite silly to someone who loved music for the former and didn't care about the latter.
Bonnaroo shoutout from Trey between Strange Design and Tube at Camden last night (sounds like he was hearing requests for Tuuuuuuuube!):
"Your either requesting this song or you are getting psyched for the second night of Bonnaroo when Bruce is playing and your going 'Bruuuuuuce!'. But if not, then this is what you're saying. I'll be there." (plays Tube)

haha I love that glowstick video! At the end it looks like you're struggling with whether or not you should check out the stage or keep filming the glowsticks!

I noticed a lot of posters on Inforoo don't plan on going to the Phish shows. Now I am new to Phish but have been listening to a lot lately and I have to wonder, "How can someone NOT like this band?" I don't get it. They are phenomenal no matter how you look at it.

i can almost guarantee they play longer than listed. late night sets seem to always have end times listed...but i have no clue why. see: sts9 2007. i think they book had them playing until 2...they played until 5 or so.
wow. pretty much just owke up after last night. it was so amazing. in my opinion definitely the best so far. too bad i'm missing the rest until roo. it was pretty cool, i ahd lawn seats w/ a buddy and as we were going there was a wide open door to pavillion w/ no security, got in and found a couple empty seats no problem. lawn looked like they were having a good time, but definitely the closer the better. it really is impossible to describe how awesome they are. so far i have taken 3 ppl to their first shows this tour. 2 of them had never even really listened to a single song and now they are hooked. they are coming to roo with me and beforehand were most likely goign to skip most or all of friday late night, now that is not an option. also when he was talking about roo and mentioned bruce everyone started booing, which i understand, but still. so after the boos trey mentions that he will be in attendance for bruce. i could seriously write like 5 times as much, but this is too long already. bottom line-get excited for roo, it will be epic.

it's always funny how the fans of an artist can dislike another artist..........meanwhile the artist's themselves actually enjoy the one's who the fans don't. that sounds confusing. i hope you understand what i meant.

i think he means more like Phish fans not giving a fuck that Bruce is gonna be there, yet Trey could be more pumped about that than actually playing the fest.
