SOMETIMES I GO 2, 3 DAYS W/O SLEEP WORKING ON MY PERFORMANCE... I HAVE TO ICE MY KNEES AFTER EVERY SHOW AND THEY HURT WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE AIRPORT... HAVING AN EXPENSIVE STAGE CUTS MY PAYDAY IN HALF.
for shame on all of you picking on him he is obviously a down to earth guy just like the rest of us the poor guy hurts while walking to his plane and he looses money all the time cause he needs and elaborate set to cover up a shoddy musical performance

"wtf is bonnarrooo anyway? the only premier festivals are the ones in europe (esp. glastonbury). nationally and internationally, this hick place ain't on anyone's radar. besides the local hicks, whens the last time you heard ANYONE ask who is gonna be at bonnarro? glastonbury is another story. im in canada and ppl are talking about it over here for like years...same with reading festival."

I really hope superfly comments back about this. The time stamps prove that he was nowhere near the venue the time when Pearl Jam came off the stage. This is a load of bull and hopefully he will be put into his place.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
FOR OVER A MONTH WE WENT BACK AND FORTH ON WETHER OR NOT WE COULD EVEN FIT MY STAGE AT THE FESTIVAL. ONE DAY THEY WOULD SAY YES... WE'D SEND THEM OUR SPECS THEN THEY THEY'D SAY OK... THEN THEY WOULD SEND SPECS BACK THAT DIDN'T FIT THE STAGE. WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY.
I'm pretty sure most performers adapt to different size stages depending on what venue they are playing. It sounds like he wanted the What stage to change size? lol
FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE
At this point, it's amazing to me that anyone, including Kanye West, still cares about this. It is such a non-issue in a world riddled with more important issues.
Whatever. Bonnaroo is over. Kanye played his set late.
I'd toss in my 2 cents, but I've lost 11 karma in the past 2 days, I'm assuming because of my opinion on Kanye's set, and how Bonnaroo handled it....so, I think you guys know where I stand.
I do kind of wish this whole episode would wash over soon though.
BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG! The fucking nerve of Pearl Jame to GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT.

Soooo... am I correct in saying he probably won't be back next year?
Now I'm curious to see how he plans on handling Lolla... It won't be a night set (starts at 8:30), he's only got 45 minutes to set up after Gnarls Barkley, and Nine Inch Nails is playing at the same time. And will the AT&T stage be big enough for him, his set, his pyros, and his ego?
Personally, if that show goes off without a hitch, I think we can all call bullsh!t, even if Superfly doesn't respond.
[edit] OK... twilight is scheduled for 8:38 that day, so he'll probably be 15 minutes late.
Hmm. His blog is pretty idiotic sounding but I also don't think it was all his fault... Bonnaroo couldn't handle everything that came with his Glow in the Dark show- the time it took to set up & the set up itself. Bonnaroo made a mistake I'm sure they've learned from.
Funny how he forgets to mention that he was smoking blunts with Young Jeezy in Atlanta just a few hours before he was scheduled to take the stage at Bonnaroo...

Kanye said:
AT 4:20AM DON COMES BACK 2 THE BUS AND TELLS ME, " IT WOULD TAKE 45 MORE MINUTES TO PUT ALL YOUR PYRO IN!"
Pearl Jam was scheduled to wrap up at 12:15. Assuming they did leave the stage at 1:15 (I didn't check the time when they ended but that sounds about right), That means Kanye's stage would have needed almost 4 hours teardown/set up to go on according to his post. So even if Pearl Jam had gone off on time Kanye could never have made his 2:45 set time.

I checked the time as soon as PJ finished watchtower, it was 12:55. They didn't even go over by a full hour.
I like how Kanye tells us to "do the math" . . . hmmmm, PJ went off 45 minutes late, Kanye was two hours late . . . yea, that leaves a lot of time unaccounted for.
All his blog did was reinforce the idea that he's a moron. That show was horrible, and I don't blame Superfly (I do hold a grudge against them for cutting Phil short). As I said before, this wouldn't be a big deal if he came on two hours late and rocked the place; however, that show was absolutely terrible. I've never seen anyone bomb that bad. Seriously the worst concert I've ever seen.

I can't believe a grown up wrote that. Caps Lock is fun. But seriously, I would love to hear something from Superfly. I haven't been on here too much since the Roo, but did Superfly really ask Phil Lesh to end early?
