my favorite discovery was actually vampire weekend...i had never heard them, but had heard that they were awesome...i decided to check them out and was very pleasantly surprised

You guys are making me jealous. I had planned to see the Everybodyfields because I love their records but I was tired and decided to stick around and see what all of the Jack Johnson hype was about. Having been unimpressed by Jack and hearing all of these Everybodyfield compliments, I think that might have been a wrong choice. Hopefully, since they're semi-local, they'll be back on a bigger stage next year.

When I saw Joe Jackson on tour last May, the guy opening for him, Mutlu, was incredible. I keep seeing him everywhere now; featured on iTunes, on Daryl Hall's internet show, everywhere. So, Mutlu's my pick.
