That they had some sort of sweeping audio? I was pretty far back from the stage, and I'm pretty sure the audio was sweeping from left to right. At first I thought it was just Lucy making me hear things, but I was reassured by every passerby I asked. I just assumed it was totally normal, then I thought that maybe Metallica had some sort of special amp that swept left to right to make it harder to record the show? I'm not sure, but it is something to think about, especially when Hetfield said Metallica was "all about live music." Plus, their audio went out for about 25 seconds (which was HILARIOUS), so maybe this sweeping audio contributed?
Did anyone else notice this, or is it something typical of most acts that I've never noticed before?

I think you're way over thinking this man. The audio on the fuse videos that are on youtube is exactly what was going through the mixing board live- I think you'd be able to notice on there.

It definitely wasn't the soundboard. If it wasn't the wind and rain playing tricks on you, it could have been some kind of issues going from the soundboard to the speaker system on the What Stage.
i have a sbd copy of the show and yes... there are quiet parts and there was a brief cut out during RIDE THE LIGHTNING... it's a bummer, but still a great show...

The further back you stand from the stage... the more delay of the waves your ear will receive and can cause a sweaping sound... especially if you are near the fences.
I did notice in the fuse videos that Kirk was totally turned off. I could hear him fine live... he played great... but they totally screwed up on the vids cause watch when he goes to solo... you can't hear him.
If you watch some of the bootleg vids... the audio is better than the Fuse vids that I have seen. Maybe this will be fixed in the future or on the DVD... or maybe the audio crew totally screwed up and can't fix that mistake. ???
Anways... live... it sounded awesome. I was fairly close and didn't notice any sweaping in and out. There was only one sounds problem... which was the obvious one where the speakers crashed. I knew they would want to escape alive after that one because the crowd was chanting "one more song" and you knew that was gonna happen because they wanted to avoid any more screw ups.
