Alright...sorry this is my first time going! and I am going VIP which I am quiet lucky actually but does VIP get the same wristband as everyone else? like does it say VIP or something on it? and is it that plastic type or is it the cloth type if that makes sense? (type from the first picture)
They're a different color so the staff can make sure you're VIP when you go into a VIP-only area. And last year they were all cloth, I'd assume (hope) they stick with that this year.
seriously. fuckin digusting if you ask me. sorry, but no one cares if you went to bonnaroo or not...clip that thing off and stick it in a drawer with all your ticket stubs.

Now that I have one of these fabric wristbands, I'm all the more in awe of you people who kept 'em on for a full year! I always regretted how soon I took off mine in 07 but that one didn't have DANGLY THINGIES. I keep eating like a crazy person with my wrist bent at weird angles because I'm trying to keep my wristband from dangling in my food. I don't think I can put up with this for very long at all. I need to come up with a good, significant day to remove it, though.

I just keep it twisted up so that it's pretty snug and tuck the ends underneath.

I just turn the wristband so the danglies are on top of my wrist when I'm doing such important things like eating, petting my cat children, or wiping my butt. Also, I do it while I'm using my mouse while working since it's on my right wrist. I put my band on a little too tight this year, so I couldn't slip it off like last year and I really don't want to cut it off. Plus, I kind of like wearing it.
Still rockin my wristband, but I cut off the danglies.. then burned the ends so they wouldnt fray... I got tired of watching the danglies all the time.. now have no problem! Gonna wear it till it rots!
yeah, i'm thinking of giving it up. i'm trying to get a job so i couldn't even eat any of the roasted corn at bonnaroo ( brought home a doggie bag of course!). so i thought i'd keep it on til i got the interview at least but damn it if i didn't screw with it and tighten it just a little bit more.
its getting annoying. second the thoughts of it getting in the way when eating and even worse having to twist it everytime i wipe.... i bought mine outside the fest cause i didn't have a ticket and for some reason put it on my right hand.
last year i went in driving and it went on my left. much better. but the sad thing? not one comment in two weeks. people probably just wonder why i'm wearing a bracelet. Been to seven roos (skipped 07 cause tool and the police just didn't do it for me, plus it was the first year my whole crew dropped out. I ALWAYS rock a bonnaroo t shirt cause I have them all and you know what? I've maybe had 5 comments in 8 years. Maybe its cause i live in southeast missouri. Most of the comments were when i was at a show for a bonnaroo esque band up in st. louis.
i just need to snip it and tuck it away. Plus I was done with the roo last year but since all we talked about in 02 was how Phish was gonna have the "surprise reunion" i felt obligated to go for this one. Its just getting kind of played out. I know it too well and they haven't even bothered renaming the CAMPSITES for years. Rememeber when they changed them every year for the first 3? Camp Super Mullet and the mullet theme camps? I'm sure its tough but seriously, they have a year to name 40 or so camps.
I wanna try rothbury or something. Only one lineup i could see getting me back and it might make some cringe. Jay-Z and coldplay. Everyone else I can even think of them getting (besides Led Zeppelin and Floyd reunion) - I've already seen and I don't think I'd do that shit again for even zeppelin, cause i just don't care.
So, yeah, i think its time to cut it off. But it IS hard to let go of the roo. I'm ready for some f'ing corn.
all three of us still have ours on. after slipping mine off i put it back on and ended up tightening it because it was just too loose. i think with enough effort i could soap it up and take it off if i wanted to, but i don't right now. husband's is loose enough to take off when he is ready to. kiddo probably wants to keep hers on forever. i wonder what the school dress code will think about it next year? this year they made her take her jelly bracelets off. (i'll tell her that if they want her to take it off at school to call me so i can come bust the lock for her without her having to cut it).
for me, it was still too loose. so i took the danglies, which were probably the most annoying part, and tied them to the bracelet. voila! perfect! i'm self employed. mine will probably stay on til next bonnaroo. i can't think of any event i'd attend where i couldn't wear it.
I'm still wearing mine. I'm an insurance agent and have to dress nice everyday. The first day back at work my boss saw me fiddle with it and said "Aren't you going to take that thing off?" and I told her no, If I have to meet with a client I'll just put a watch on over it. My boyfriend already cut his off.
My neighbors above me that went both have their 08 VIP bands on and now they have the 09 GA bands. We just safety pin the dangly parts to the band.
I'm so freakin proud to wear my Bonnaroo wristband!

I seriously have to take a picture of my friends arm for people here. He doesnt take any wristbands or festival bracelets off until they fall off. He has been doing that since High School and both his arms are covered in tons of bracelets many of which are years old. So yea its safe to say he will be holding on to this one for a long time unlike me!

I had to cut mine off the Thursday night after Roo. I had a formal dinner for work and didn't think the filthy wristband coordinated with my little black dress. I'm keeping it forever though.
