KDOGG .......Bad idea! Throwing items out your window = probable cause.
well you are right of course but it depends on the factors at the time...... Its all about being suttle if they are right up on you. Other factors are day/night or is the cop 1/4 of a mile behind you when you see the blue lights and of course if you have enough "stuff" to fill a suit case then dont even bother.

The factor that matters is that they see you throw something out your window. It doesn't matter the circumstances under which you do it. If they see something go out your window, they'll have grounds to pull you over. Throwing something out your window in looks suspicious to begin with. Throwing anything out your window is grounds for you to get pulled over for littering. Once you're pulled over for littering, you're vulnerable to more thorough treatment.
i want to but ive heard that even if i do say it was illegally searched the police has a higher jursidiction so if he says it was legal theres nothing i can do. all i can do hope that somehow they can get the recordings of when i was pulled over but i highly doubt that is going to happen.
We were pulled over on the way home on 81 North about 5 miles shy of the Virginia Border.
We were pulled over by two men in SWAT uniforms because "I didn't pull over to the left lane when there was an emergency vehicle with its lights on in the right shoulder." Right away he asked us if we were coming from the Bonnaroo festival and there was no way to lie considering we all had our wristbands on. They asked to search our car and with fear of angering them we let them considering we didn't have any plants with us, only glass pieces. They took the glass pieces let us off with a warning and never mentioned the traffic violation again.
I'm going to be ALLOT more careful, next year. Previous years we got away with everything we did. The cops were really out for the nitrous guys this year, so much so that they searched the campsites of (relative) innocents.
BS, man.
Yes, there were really out for the nitrous. They guys at the gate took my 3 large inflated foil helium balloons, told me they were not allowed and then popped them. all the time asking me where the tank was. When I pointed out that there were dozens of large foil balloons flying, he just said they must have sneaked them in and inflated them after they got in. When I asked how they managed to get a helium tank in, he got really shitty and started talking about denying us entry. I decided to shut up at that point.
You ever see a sign by the side of the road, claiming there's a no-no checkpoint up ahead? That checkpoint is never going to be there, because it's unconstitutional. A blanket stop-and-search point doesn't fly.
Not positive if they still do, but they used to be all over the place in Southern California in the 90's, they claimed that they were looking for Illegal Aliens, but every time I went to see the Grateful Dead in Vegas, everyone who looked like they were going to the shows were pulled over and searched, dogs involved.
im really interested in this general subject (how to handle the cops) and the legalities involved. the above video is a 45 minute crash course of your rights in a traffic stop. def. worth your time, as it can save you major pain if your are stopped, esp. after the roo.
the main thing to remember in a stop like this is a cop will NEVER ask your permission to do something they would be able to do without your permission. so often in a traffic stop police pressure ppl into surrendering what little rights they have left.
"no, i do not consent to a search of my vehicle"----this is the most important phrase to remember
if they just go ahead and search anyway, you have already done something which allows them to do so (throwing something out the window, attempting to evade, corn in plain sight, etc...)
I was a super careful about the speed limit. We saw so many people pulled over I thought I was going to puke. We ended up coming in RT 55 because that is where our hotel was Wed. night. they had a cop like every few miles and by most of the speed limit change signs. Frustrating! Same on the way home. Maybe did 5 miles over the limit once in NJ.
we got pulled over going in wednesday night. we had left the walmart in manchester and just got off the ramp at exit 111 (we were almost there!). as i stopped at the stop sign at the end of the ramp the state trooper motions us over to the side of the road. within seconds we were swarmed by 4 other troopers with flashlights. as the main guy questions us from the passenger window the other ones scoured the inside with their lights just lookin for a reason to search us. of course they found nothing. turns out the reason we were pulled over is my friend in the passenger seat forgot to put his seatbelt back on after we left walmart... DOH! after a few minutes they let us go.
5 cops because someone wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Meanwhile someone is getting raped and killed and screaming for a cop who is nowhere to be found. Nice to see we have our priorities straight in this country.

Luckily no problems...I like to think we got a little good karma on the way there though. We were around Chattanooga, TN when we encountered a very drunk driver pulling a camper. They were swerving across the entire interstate, we were terrified that they were going to kill someone.
As bad as we felt about doing it, we called the cops and boxed them in until they got pulled over. I'll all for drinking some beer in line for the Roo, but drivers, please wait until then.
My car broke down half way back to Atlanta and we prayed for a cop, but none showed up. We kept saying "where's a cop when ya need one". 90 minutes later we got a tow truck.

ok story time kids.
my caravan had 4 cars, of which i was the last for most of the time. we came from oklahoma, and i had to speed to keep up with my asshole friends, but that is besides the point. i had a couple of pipes, a grinder and a tiny bit of corn with me mind you.
so my friend is driving my car and we are an exit away from wal-mart and we get pulled over at the exit before wal-mart for speeding, even though the highway was crowded as shit. the said we were doing 76 in either a 70 or 65 i can't remember what the speed limit was, but we were not going that fast. so we pull over and the cop automatically tells my friend the driver to step out of the car and bring the usual with him. i stay in the car and about 7 minutes or so later the cop comes up to my window and says that my friend, lets call him fred, gave him permission to search the car. he then asked if he had my permission and i couldn't really say no now, since fred said yes. i pretty much immediatly gave up what i had because it wasn't hidden well and i assumed that since it was barely any corn i would get a ticket and be on my merry way. Wrong!
The bastard arrested me without reading my rights by the way, and took me to god forsaken coffee county shithouse. 4 hours and about 900 dollars later i was out and made it to wal mart. i am supposed to go back to that f'in town on july 29th, but hopefully i can just pay some ungodly amount of money to that stupid ass city and be done with it.
this was my first bonnaroo and although i had the best time of my life while there, i don't think i will be returning. cops need to go get real criminals not me, a skinny kid, pot head, who couldn't harm fly. long story short, f the police! they just asked to search our car cause we looked the part.
p.s. ever since i see cops everywhere now, and i hear about cops doing B.S. shit to people. weird huh.

nah smooth sailing. someone who asked me for a lighter to light their butt said something about $20 grand in fines for something "but we made it". i did not ask any questions and strolled away as soon as they handed me the lighter back lol.
Me and my two buddies got pulled over outside of Memphis on the way there for having illegal window tint. The tint came from the factory, and was definitely legal. The car we were in did have a Ron Paul, Grateful Dead, I <3 Manatees, and Obama sticker on it. We were clearly profiled.
They immediately make the driver step out and take him back for questioning, while the other guy gives him his sack. Great.... Now we all have to give them our bags of corn (about a half, total) and my pipe. The pigs proceed to tear our car apart looking for anything else. Upon not finding anything they make us all dump our bags of corn, and make me throw my pipe in the woods. They then tell us "get out of here".

you luckey S.O.B. why the hell did i get arrested with barely two bowls worth of corn, and you just got your half thrown out? oh wait I know because i was pulled over in worthless manchester. i HATE cops so much more now. I don't even know what to say anymore. Oh and happy news, I will have to shell out 1500 bucks to make my bullshit charge go away. that is money to hire a lawyer in that dumb town. I too was profiled. F the police. And if anyone on this board is a cop, sorry, but that is just how i feel. did anyone else get arrested in that god-forsaken town?

Sorry dude, that sucks. If you need a lawyer here in OKC to help you, let me know.
I didn't get pulled over on the way to or from Roo, but I have been pulled over several times here in Cincinnati in the past few months.. Our government has become corrupt as it ever has been, and the police have more power than any person or group of people should ever have.
I would like to point out that I saw a cop driving an Audi R8 down the highway the other day.. The R8 starts at 109,000 dollars!
