because of that first pic of Amy Grant I now know that i camped and hung out with her and her family all weekend. They were our neighbors and helped us out with it being out first year. Great people. Up until seeing this picture she was just Amy to me and my fiance. My fiance swore up and down all weekend it was her but i didnt think it was because they had a super modest set up, pop up and a couple tents. I would have expected rv at the minimum. I'm glad that i am just now finding out for sure though, otherwise hanging out would have not been as comfortable as it was.
i just remembered that i saw beetle bob at umphrey's mcgee. actually i'm not to sure, but this dude looked exactly like him. can anyone confirm that he was there?

I spoke to Brian Posehn in the side stage area during Mastodon. I also spoke both guitarists for Mastodon (friend is an acquaintance). One of the guitarists and his wife have my band's album and complimented me on it (to which I was warned "watch out for my wife... she has a thing for guitarists"). The other guitarist was at our camp Saturday night... he was "stumbling all over things on the ground" (wink, wink, say no more). All nice as hell. I saluted Mike Birbiglia while he was on his cell phone.
I saw what felt like the entire cast of Best Week Ever running around the grounds at the What Stage waiting for Kanye to come on. They were all definitely on something because they were super giggly and wide eyed. They seemed to be having a great time.
Well I met a lot of rock stars this weekend since I had the best volunteer job, artist hospitality!
In one way or another I interacted with: Olson Twins (aloof) Ben Folds Zach Galifianakis (thought he was someone else) Swell Seasons (Nicest couple) OAR Sigur Ros (shy) Willie some of !!! Umphrey Mcgee Iron & Wine's Samuel Beam Battles Felice Brothers Gogol Bordello Coup Aimee Mann and stage crew out the ying yang!
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
Tre (also from Pharcyde!), King B, Moe Train, Asdro and Raul from Ozomatli... (We had just challenged the band to a hitting contest in the backstage batting cage... Thus the wrist/armbands)
"You guys have a hand signal for your band like Rocafella and Daft Punk... How in the hell do you do it?" (The guys didn't really know either)
With Serena Ryder:
Some pics I posted in another thread... I have tons of pics of other acts as well...
Interviewing Chris Culos of O.A.R.:
I also did an impromptu interview with BEATLE BOB! (LOL) B has the pictures of that one... During the 5 minute interview, I asked him if we'd see Beatle Bob in the pit at Metallica... That got a laugh...

I saw Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon at the Troo Music Lounge. I guess his girlfriend was playing there. Anyways, we talked for a few minutes and he was as nice as I would ever hope. I told him the KoL set last year was about my favorite Bonnaroo moment ever, that is until I saw the Raconteurs. I would post the picture I took w/ him, but I don't feel like figuring out how.
I rocked out with a youtube celebrity...that rad old shirtless dancing guy. I see him in so many videos on youtube...
I saw him! One of the people we were with said that he would definitely end up on YouTube, and once I read your post I went to find it! He was definitely rocking out at Rogue Wave Sunday afternoon.

I snuck backstage after watching all of My Morning jacket and gave Jim James a hi-5 and said the show was fucking awesome. I wanted to get a picture but I didnt want to break the mood. That all i needed, a good old hi-5 with Jim James.
Well I didnt get to hang out with a celeberty but we kicked it b4 and after peal jam with the guy who owns all the land on the other side of brushy branch i know all of us had a great time watching mike spin his dip stick around =D
the only famous person i met was Brendan Canning after the BSS set.
i did hear that Alia Shawkat (Maeby Funke on Arrested Development was there). some kid that was standing next to me for Two Gallants and Against Me saw her. that kid was also some famous person's son, i'm not sure who though.

(In my best Napoleon Dynamite voice) Lucky!
I got to meet one of the guys from Morning 40 Federation, and another dude from Dead Confederate. They came by my camping area on (I think) Friday, asking me if I knew where to purchase some corn.

Just wondering, but was her husband with her? She's married to Vince Gill, another country singer, which I had a mild crush on in the 90s. I know, I know.
I saw Jeneane Garofolo (no idea how to spell it but you know who I mean) stalking through the crowd at Death Cab. She looked just like her pic in the program. No one else seemed to notice but it was totally her. I am not one to ask for autographs anyway but she seemed super unreceptive. Kind of how I expected. Sullen looking but very cool.
I don't think I would realise it if I ran into someone famous. I would just be like, "hey, that person looks really familiar. hmm"
Me too. I have no idea what these people look like up close, I just know their music
Not a personal encounter at Roo, but we did receive a text message Thursday night that Metallica was eating at a nice resturant where a friend of ours works in Nashville. She said they were super nice guys.
On a side note, Metallica also played a "secret" show at the Basement in Nashville on Thursday night. Only 120 people were in attendence, no one knew they were going to be there:
While I was in line to get my phone charged at the Fuse Barn, a cart came by and dropped off Umphrey's McGee so I skipped over there and talked to them for a second. A few moments later when I was back in line I saw the percussionist get tossed by the Mechanical bull.
