Not to bring everyone down, but I recently found out that the guy who sat in front of me in one of my classes died a week ago today. He had been out at a bar, but was responsible enough to take a cab home. As the taxi was nearing his house, he started to get out, but didn't realize that the cab was still moving. It's weird - I barely knew the kid, only ever said about 10 words to him, but this has had me down all week.
I guess that's just the way this crazy thing we call life keeps going round. The miracle of birth and the tragedy of death. I'm really sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I just needed to get this off my chest.

OK - Jen and Dallas are busy being new parents - they got to take Audrey home today (guess the people at the hospital thought they looked as though they were responsible enough )

Sugar and spice and everything nice...that's what little girls are made of.
Congratulations on that sweet, sweet baby! And I totally love the hoot owl car seat. Practice patience if you're nursing. It's tough to get started, but after awhile you can do it in your sleep (and probably will). Good luck!

2K... a small step for some, a giant leap for bek-kind. I should be stankin' sometime around this time next year!
On another note... I hope Jen and Dallas are getting settled in. I'm gonna miss her being around so much for the time being but wow am I happy for her!
I keep meaning to post a general statement here and as I go thru the thread I keep seeing the happy mom and dad and baby. How can you compete with that Way to go parents ... cr****
Musical by "South Park"-Avenue Q Creators Aiming for Broadway in 2011 By Andrew Gans 14 Apr 2010
A new musical featuring a score and book by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q Tony winner Robert Lopez will open on Broadway in March 2011, according to an April 14 press statement.
Entitled The Book of Mormon, the production will be co-directed by Avenue Q and Shrek the Musical's Jason Moore and "South Park"'s Parker. Producers are Scott Rudin and Anne Garefino. The latter is the executive producer of "South Park."
The Book of Mormon, according to the New York Post, "tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent off to spread the word in a dangerous part of Uganda. Their tale is told alongside the story of Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Latter-day Saints."
"It has been such a thrill to get to work with two guys I've always admired so much, Matt Stone and Trey Parker," Lopez said in a statement. "Their 'South Park' movie musical is beloved within the Broadway community – it was certainly one of my biggest influences writing Avenue Q. It's been a lot of work and a lot of laughs, and I'm so excited by the show. It really is in many senses a big traditional musical comedy, with, as you might expect, untraditional subject matter. I can't wait to see how Broadway audiences are going to react when they experience it."
Expect the musical to be funny and cynical but full of heart. "We learned a long time ago that if something is cynical just for the sake of being cynical, it won't last too long," Stone told the Post.
Co-creator and co-director Parker added, "Broadway is big and scary to us. And by no means are we coming in to kick Broadway's ass. We're pretty sure we're going to get our asses kicked. But Bobby and Scott and Jason have a lot of the theater experience, so with their help, maybe we won't fall flat on our faces."
Cheyenne Jackson starred in a 2008 workshop of a previous incarnation of the project, which was then titled Mormon Musical. At that time, Jackson told the Post, "It's hilarious - very acerbic and biting. It offends everybody but does what 'South Park' does best, which is by the end it comes around and has something great to say."
Theatre, cast and additional creative team will be announced at a later date.
I just got off the phone with the Washington Post. I'm one of the sources for an article about my friend Greg that will be appearing in this Sunday's paper. The entire fate of journalistic integrity lies in the palm of my hand. Mwahahaha - if only they knew!
I went to the store last night and bought like $30 worth of dank beer for Springfest this weekend. Only after I had purchased it and was en route to my house did I have the realization that I'm a dumbass. I bought glass bottles, for a festival. Guess I'll try to sneak em in, can't imagine security is very tight at this little festival, and I can always just drink them at home of course, but man I feel like an idiot.
