I'm making a list. And have a pile in the dining room, at my Mom's house, and in the shed. Am going to try to go through the hiking backpacks this weekend to see what I have in them and what I still need. Sew covers for my two sleep pads (really sofa cushion inserts I scored super cheap). Maybe set the tent that I scored for free last year at Roo up and see what it needs in way of repairs. Pacing myself, or I'll go nuts with nothing to do but WAAAIIIITTTTT! :-0

I haven't even started my pile yet! I've been way to busy lately, plus I'm so very sick right now. I can't bear the though of going to the barn and sorting through everything today.
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
I know that sounds crazy, but I'm driving to Chattanooga TN tomorrow and parking my car there until June 9th while I tour with, and manage a friends band. We come back to Chatt. as the last stop, then on to the Farm bright and early on the 10th to spend all our hard earned money on....grilled cheese!! But yea, I was getting SO excited last night loading up my tent, EZ-Up, coolers, etc. etc.

We have a group of 5. 4 of us are carpooling to meet the fifth in a different city, then all driving together in a van the rest of the way to 'roo. So when the fifth was in my city this weekend, I sent my 'roo pile home with him. Only minor packing left for me!

The only things I have so far are as follows: Tent, Camelbak, Canteen for booze, waterproofer for the tent, and some rope I found really cheap at the hardware store today. I'm gonna get a bunch of the smaller stuff this weekend.

We started our pile on Monday! I'm a 'roo virgin, so I'm hoping I have everything I need! Here's what it looks like so far...
Inside the big pink tote:3 tarps, bungee cords, 2 rechargeable lanterns, air mattress, air mattress pump, tent repair kit, 3 bottles of sunscreen, can of bug spray, glow sticks, travel size scrabble, toilet seat covers, toilet paper, 32 AA batteries for camera, 4 rain ponchos and a small flashlight for the porta johns at night.
Inside the little pink tote: beef jerky, soy joy bars, fruit leather, sesame sticks, nuts, granola bars, horizon milk, reese's peanut butter cup cereal, chicken salad kits, vienna sausages, electrolyte powder drink thingies, crackers, spray can cheese, and two of these water bottles: www.coolgearinc.com/pure1.html
Also our tent, 2 sleeping bags, pillows, extra blanket, cooler w/our beer and whatever else I can think of by Wednesday. I haven't packed our clothes or toiletries yet, so that'll be added to the pile on Tuesday night.

This will be my 2nd Roo (I attended Dustaroo 2007.) This year, I'm bringing two Roo virgins with me and also a few veterns. Here's our pile we've started so far and we have an abundance of beer, water, sodas and gatorade. We also are bringing an assortment of pink flamingos to decorate our campsite.
I did all of my roo shopping today with my friend (I'm a roo'ster since 06, only missing 09 -- he's been to every Roo since 06) and we did all of our shopping (minus the booze) today... managed to stay on a nice, tight budget... that will double come alcohol time (2 bottles of vodka, 1 bottle of rum, 2 24pks of beer, and a box of wine should be enough for two guys, yeah?)
Best roo pile for me ever! Only thing I need to buy this year is food & beer. I've finally acquired all of the camping gear I will ever need. Tent, shade, chairs, sun shower, camp stove, and thermarest's all sitting in the garage now, ready to be packed.
All I need is one more case of fat tire and Im set.
I didn't know you could buy that in cans. You're not smuggling in glass are you questionablesanity? That's frowned upon more than just about anything else.
