1. Not going until 2005 2. Missing Trey in '05 due to exhaustion 3. Not getting to see all of Gomez - one of my favs - due to the great wait for Radiohead last year. And no recordings of their full show have surfaced, which sucks even more.
Don't regret that. Trey is my absolute favorite musician and that show was AWFUL. It's the only Trey show I've ever walked out on. If I could do it over again I would have watched the Secret Machines or The Perceptionists or something.

yea. this year we are bringing a canopy to set up so that it blocks the morning sun. so at least we can avoid teh greenhouse effect on our tent at 7 AM.

Regret not seeing Doc Watson in 2004 because of the rain, not staying for the whole umpreys/disco biscuits show this year. Regret missing 02 and 03. Bought tickets to Bonnaroo NE though.

don't ever go with a big group of people, say like 10 or so, i hate to say that in 2005 my friends wanted to leave govt mule early to check out this shitty techno band called mouse on mars, i was pissed once i saw mule's setlist, what else did i miss, oh yeah, i missed the word cause all my friends wanted to see modest mouse, they sucked too, i missed a few others i know including half of bob weir and ratdog, amos lee, some latenight shows, thats why from here on out i'm going alone, i pretty much think about and plan my roo year round, once the lineup gets announced i go through every band that i don't know, and see which ones i like, my favorite bands today and the best shows i've seen are all thanks to bonnaroo, i spend too much time year round studying everything bonnaroo to let others mess up my one week of paid vacation a year that i get, i hate to sound selfish, i'm not a selfish person, i just think your vacation is your time, and you do what you want with it, and since bonnaroo only comes once a year, and all the waiting just sucks cause i can't really afford to go to several music festivals a year like some people i know do, at bonnaroo i will see every band there that i love, as long as two or more aren't playing at the same time, which generally happens

Kar - I hadn't searched for the Gomez show from roo, BUT the Gomez show from Vegoose was also pretty fantastic (and longer!) and it is available to download for free on archive.org
I don't really "regret" any of it, cause they were still the two most fantastic weekends of my life!
but.... if I could change anything, there would be just two things...
1. I definitely would never leave on a Sunday again, like I did in 2005. Last year it was so much better staying until Monday.
2. I wish I hadn't missed the masquerade ball last year since everyone has so much fun! Apparently I passed out on a chair while people went to get changed
well i love going with a large group. ive seen a few roo shows by myself. our group has no problems spliting up if we wanna see didferent shows. i saw mmw alone while everyone else was at beck. and i saw damien marley alone too. and met some awesome people at both shows.

Last year we went to Cypress Hill, which was fun as hell, but then we were too tired at Radiohead and kind of half passed out/slept on the lawn far away from the stage. Hopefully that dvd comes out soon. I would have liked to see the Mars Volta in '05, but trudged over to the sts9 tent, which was also fun.
Not seeing My Morning Jacket in 05 because I didn't know who they were. I've seen them twice since then, so I can't complain too much. Falling asleep during several different shows because I just get so exhausted. I have never checked out the sonic forest, I didn't see the firey art show last year... The biggest one of all is losing my fiance in the crowd and not having a meeting spot. It's a horrible feeling to lose someone in a crowd of tens of thousands and have no idea how to find them. Wow, I have a lot of roo-regrets.

Cheers, I'll check that out. I saw the first quarter of their set and headed to Radiohead. Gomez probably got the rawest deal out of last year's schedule. With their overlap in fanbase, and knowing that everyone would be at Radiohead waaaay early, it just sucked.
Anyway, back on topic, I also regret falling asleep during Gov't Mule '05, again due to exhaustion. Camping in BFE sucked.

True, but it was good for us who skipped Radiohead! (Well, I heard some of it from tent-only) I arrived at Gomez already about 2 songs into the set and was able to stroll right up to the front row
I regret missing David Byrne in 2004 due to being an idiot. I should have known better, but for some reason I did not. He would be a nice add this year.
I really really regret not making it to MMJ last year, due to exhaustion. I was going good through Petty, and then hit the wall and it was finally time to go bye bye. Of course it makes me cringe everytime that I hear someone bringing up the awesomeness of that show. I guess I have the boot and Okonokos to tide me over until this year.
So far here are the lessons learned from this thread: 1. Don't get tired. At all costs, pace yourself and stay awake! 2. Do your own thing, forget your friends. In a sea of people as large as Roo, it is surprisingly easy to meet up with people, assuming they're able to remember when/where to meet.

I regret missing J5 @ Roo05 and MMJ @ 06'... I'm an idiot. I also regret not including fungus in my diet at radiohead, But all will be amended come this Rooyear....so if you see me walking around roo like I'm lost and looking for something....it's cus i am..give me some drugs and I'll give you a kiss. nomatter your gender...hehehe
p.s. i'm only half-serious
p.s.s. I won't kiss a wookie, don't wanna add "wookie germs" to the roo regrets thread.
